Tiny Woodland Bird Cyanistes Caeruleus Hatches out from an egg

Filmed inside a nestbox with a HD camcorder with macro this video shows a Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) chick as it hatches from an egg.
There are 5 eggs and 3 newly hatched chicks in the box. The eggs are tiny and are only 16mm long x 12 mm wide (0.6 x 0.47 inch).

How it's done
I use a Panasonic HDC-SD9 HD Camcorder that saves video to a SD card. The camcorder is connected to my PC through the wall of my house by USB cable so I can download the videos to my PC.
I control the camcorder by a remote control using an infra red extender from my house.
I use LED lights to illuminate the box.

Might be they knew that the egg shell contain protein , so they are eating

Niharika b....yes, the shell has the much needed nutrients but it also kind of recycles inside the bird to help produce new / future eggshells. Hopefully, that was the mother bird eating the pieces of shell though.

Hopefully, that was the mother eating the shell, & if so, then let that male bird see his family dammit🙂. And the new hatchling looks like it has a cut in the back of its head...most likely from the egg shell.
