Let's build a series DC motor and measure its torque (Motors #7)

In a series DC motor, the stator is wired in series with the brushes. This causes the speed versus torque relationship to differ from the case where the stator is a permanent magnet. Here I work out the theory, build the motor, and then measure the torque versus speed curve.
