    Watching these videos as much for the master class in teaching as the excellent content itself.

      @@JoeRobinsonTraining If a motor has higher current that means more torque but less spin which means less voltage and if it has a higher voltage but less current that means less torque but higher spin, thus we use greater current for Impact drivers and greater voltage for drills....

    Is d = 4 cm the distance from the center of the axis motor to the force the bolt is exerting on the scale ?

    hey Joe can you please upload the video when u load the motor and explain it . i dont understand why we need dynomometer for it . wouldt it be simpler just measure stall torque of the motor and that is the max torque its can produce without movement ?

    How about showing the difference in torque between a Rimac Nevera and a Nissan Leaf. Is it the size of the components in the electric motors that gives this huge difference in torque?

    I need an answer to the following question for selecting a motor for a particular project.
    Can you please help me?
    Suppose I have a car with 1 wheel driven by a single motor. Total weight is 50KG (W). Maximum speed needed is 0.5meter per second (S). Wheel dia is 4.5cm (D). Gear ratio is 100 from motor to wheel (GR). Motor RPM is variable but assume 3000 rpm (R). What is the torque needed for the motor? T =? in N.meter.
    Both a value and in terms of T(W,S,D,GR,R)

    What I'm trying to understand is how are these formulas universally correct i.e. what if you express values in inches instead of centimeters and instead of grams and kilograms, pounds or ounces or whatever unit they may be using on other planets?

    • @ethanhunt3933
      @ethanhunt3933 2 роки тому +1

      the formulas work in mertic units, if you have inches you must first convert it to metres before calculating the force or if you have pounds you must first convert that value to kilograms to calculate the correct value, these formulas dont just work with any random values because torque is represented in Newton-metres not Newton-inches for example

    • @unbiased1
      @unbiased1 2 роки тому

      @@ethanhunt3933 so, that was the missing info. hypothetical aliens on other worlds may be using different formulas altogether. lecturers always fail to explain that.

    Can not believe that torque number is so low , I bought a chinese hub motor wheel for an ebike and they claim 71 Nm.
    How can that be possible ? Its a Dc 1500W at 48V.

    When I went to school, our answers were marked wrong when we did not include Units of Measure. Suggest what you include Units of Measure so that students can readily see that they are multiplying and dividing appropriately.
    Please clarify how a dynamometer torque arm pressing on a scale provides mass and not force.
    Thanks.

    • @JoeRobinsonTraining
      @JoeRobinsonTraining  4 роки тому +2

      I was taught the opposite! Putting letters into an equation after the number turns it into a constant multiplying a variable. 2kg becomes 2 x k x g.
      See the link below for the mass to force relationship and calculation:
      ua-cam.com/video/7NQTVm-2WKA/v-deo.html

    • @chuckwharton3549
      @chuckwharton3549 4 роки тому +1

      Example. 3 ft x 3 lbf = 9 ft-lbf. In more complex equations, I would sometimes get mixed up on which item should be in the numerator and which is in the denominator. It becomes obvious when the units cancel out and the answer has the correct units of measure.
      Ft is one entity, not two. Ft = feet, not Fuuf, Teee and not F x T.

    • @chuckwharton3549
      @chuckwharton3549 4 роки тому +1

      If 2kg represents 2 x k x g, then 10 x 1 is 1 x 0 x 1 or 0. 🙁
