I was at this tour in Oakland. The right mix of certain substances made this an unforgettable experience.

I will still never forget him doing this song on the Muppets show, one of the weirdest and coolest things I have seen to this day. The 70's were pretty damn cool.

I was stationed in Germany 1981 and I heard his interview on U.S. Armed Forces Radio. He said, “I pay my hard earned money to go to a concert to see a guy bang on a guitar and I’m to say OH WOW! You go to my concert you’re going to see a show, not just some guitar player.” I Love Alice Cooper.

That Glen Buxton! I dont know how he did it but his guitar sound was unmistakable! Each musician in his band fed off of and complimented each other. It all came together for that unique sound they had. Luv to blast them when I'm in the tub, lol!!

Glen Buxton and the original Alice Cooper band played their last concerts with Alice in 1974. Even then, they only played 7 shows in Brazil.
As of 1975, Alice had Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner on guitars.

The Mad House Rock Tour band (dubbed Ultra Latex by Alice at the time) had Steve Hunter but not Glenn Buxton (nor Dick Wagner). The blonde guy is actually Davey Johnstone, famously part of Elton John's band (Alice was working with a lot of John's collaborators and musicians at the time, Bernie Taupin helped co-write most of the songs on From The Inside). He would play a bit of "Saturday Night's alright (for fightin')" during the band introduction in the middle of an extended "School's Out", prompting Alice to say he pays him more than Elton.

I would say Alice Cooper never had the best voice in the world -- by far -- but he put on one hell of a stage show and had a top-flight band. Going to one of his concerts around this time was an experience.

I saw this performance on TV very briefly many, many years ago. At the time, I wasn’t familiar with Alice Cooper. But I was drawn in immediately. Those words “Welcome to my nightmare” were so intriguing and surreal. And I liked the whole concept with nightmarish creatures greeting him. And just a few seconds in, a family member changed the channel and that was that. The next time I came across Alice Cooper on TV was about a decade or two later when he released his ‘come back’ album Trash. I had forgotten the name but the narrator mentioned the Welcome To My Nightmare album from the 70s and immediately, I remembered that stage performance I saw on TV briefly all those years ago that featured those same words. I quickly realised that this is the same guy! I learned more about his music and his previous works and quickly became a fan.

I saw Alice while I was in High School in an stadium (Full of a cloud bank of pot smoke, thank you). Then many years later I saw him in Hollywood at the Sunset blvd "House of Blues" - a swanky, intimate venue...and he had gotten better with age, I think. The Scary psycho Alice was too freaky. While the mature, dark carnival ring-master was a bit more suave, a better singer, and ...more like-able a character. I mean, don't get me wrong both times he was beyond good - you saw Alice Cooper, and you saw a REAL FULL ON ROCK SHOW.... but, Alice has gotten better with age.

Saw him live in the past 6 months - he still rocks it hard! Gotta love the one and only Alice, the Godfather of everything that followed him - 80's metal, 70's punk rock, goth, etc. It all started with Alice. Before Ziggy Stardust, NY Dolls, Sex Pistols, Marilyn Manson, Ozzy, there was Alice...everyone copied him in one way or another.

+Jennifer Fish Did you know the woman dancing as the Black Widow Spider is (still) married to Alice (I think they got married in 75/76)? He broke up with Raquel Welch (!) because he fell in love with her during a tour. As beautiful as Raquel still is, she was 20X hotter then so just imagine a guy telling a woman "Yeah, I broke up with the woman commonly stated as the most beautiful woman on earth because I fell in love with you and honestly find you a more perfect woman."
