With the music and your voice this feels like a Bob Ross looking at Linux Mint video. "There's that new dialogue box it's rounded, just like those rocks i'm going to paint in next to these trees."
@@TheLinuxITGuy no problem, brother! really appreciate the cozy vibe in the videos. As I get a bit older it feels nice to watch something I enjoy & not be so serious or fast about life. (IT myself) & yeah Christmas was pretty good! Hope that yours was, too, and that you have a good 2025 as well.
Love it. And yes, I agree with people saying Linux Mint should be more visually appealing. But, do not forget, Cinnamon is very much customizable. I started using "Sweet - New Flavor" theme (specifically Sweet Ambar Blue Dark v40) with Candy icons. And it looks like a totally different distro. But yes, out-of-the-box they should improve it. 22.1 is a step forward, and there's more to come!
Thanks for the walkthrough. It looks nice, but I lost a lot of time upgrading from 21 to 22. I realise that it's minor release, but still. I might wait a few months.
Nice review as always! So I tried installing this and found a very strange glitch. I have Windows 11 on another NVMe drive, and even when I tried to install this Linux Mint beta and putting everything entirely on another NVMe drive, it would create the boot partition on the same drive as the installation, but it always copied the boot folder to the EFI partition on my other drive where Windows was. It would boot up after install, then the screens would just be blank forever, and I would have to restart it. I tried it 3 different times, and I think apart from physically removing the other NVMe drive with Windows on it, it won't work. So I just installed Linux Mint 22. I suspect this issue won't exist when I upgrade to 22.1 since the boot partition already has Mint's boot files and configuration on its own drive / partition.
Yeah they just need to make a few more tweaks. They are already pretty close. Vanilla cinnamon is so ugly, tried installing that on Debian and it did not look good lol.
I so want to come back over to linux, but I need my mods to my games. So once one of the mod manages work well on linux I can jump back over. I know 21st century problems 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks guys. I get that a lot lol. Just being myself and sharing some knowledge. Hope y’all had a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2025.

Getting better and better to use in everyday : )
Indeed. Thanks for watching.

Understandable. Thanks for watching.
Please zoom into what you're trying to present!
Interesting vibe in the video.. o)
Thanks! 🙂

Thanks! That is odd.
Mint would be much more popular if they make cinnamon more visually appealing
By just changing the default icons, they could achieve a significant improvement. The rest of the DE is quite elegant for me.
@@fedordostoievski6751 They should add better animations and blur effects

how do you update from 22 to 22.1?
The upgrade option normally opens up a few days after release.
@TheLinuxITGuy so just like normL update in terminal?
Can i use Mint with my AMD RX6800XT graphics card?
yes - out of the box
You can skip the NVIDIA driver section all together. AMD runs great on Linux.
When will Xia release?
Any day now.

What mod and what game?
I am waiting for Auto HDR in Gaming for Nvidia Gpus out of the Box, then I come back!
As others stated…please cinnamon…, show a little more appealing themes and nicer icons. Nice video.
Thanks
This is too much music for me. Sorry. Otherwise I do enjoy your videos.
Thanks.
I hate rounded boxes. I HATE it.
Yes, I hope the theme is optional. - I dont get it why the corners change every few years.
As an Apple Mac silicon user Linux seems very outdated.
What makes you say that?
