ok, i had my doubt`s about this show in early season, but i have to say that it`s again a fantastic CO show ! good luck saturday at DCE finals !! you guys a my favorites again!
I have to say that the standard of instrumentation has very much improved since my day (1970s-1980's) but it's a shame that, like DCI, and sadly, this is no longer Drum & Bugle Corps. Rather 'BLAST' - if anyone remembers it, on a Football Field!
Most of their show was original music. I have been involved in the drum corps activity since the early eighties continuously through now. I marched in DCI (Freelancers) from 87-92 and have been a member of Kidsgrove Scouts since 2016. You're right... the activity has indeed changed... for the better. The level of demand exhibited by today's corps FAR exceeds that of which I did when I was marching in DCI FINALS. WHat we are doing in 2019 is designed to be of interest to the modern era of marchers and fans of modern era corps... this ain't your grandads drum corps anymore... just like it was when I aged out of DCI in 92. What we were doing in 92 was MILES different to what they were doing 20 years prior. As I said, I have been involved with Kidsgrove since 2016. Whilst the Company's style ain't my cup of tea, I will also defend them as they work their arses off just as hard as anybody to ENTERTAIN you.
Opener was an original compositionsby Andrew Markworth, mvt 2 was Paranoid Android by Radiohead, ballad was Stay by Rihanna ft Mikky Ekko and the closer was another original by Andrew (but with hints of the other pieces).
