What a great concert. I wish I was there. I would have loved to hear him play Moonlight in Vermont, and Apasionado, On a Slow Boat to China, would be great. He was one of the most soulful and most elegant Saxophone players of all time. Thanks for uploading the video. :-)"
I've seen a snippet of this performance - Marc Johnson's solo (at 47:00) - but never the whole concert or even a whole song from it. It's a treat to hear it in entirety. Thanks so much for posting it!
McNealy was a guest lecturer at Cornish way back in the early 80s and played one of my compositions. What a great player anyone playing at anytime with Getz I'm interested in.
This is the band I was privileged to study and jam with at the Stanford Jazz Workshop! Memories for a lifetime.

But dies like 8 years later.
Nothing like the hard life of a musician.

Coltrane never achieved this level.
How can say this? Coltrane was a true genius. You cannot compare them : their playing was totally different.
@@lawrencemuller8972 Amateur, we can compare everything to everything else.

Victor Lewis's high hat that's some swinging quiet latin. Mark Johnson fresh from Bill Evans so melodic in tune wow
You’re right! Coltrane was on a whole other level!
