Sara, an IT professional & Stephen a graphic designer and artist are world-traveling Canadians who dreamt of moving to Europe, and France in particular. In 2020 they were working from home when Stephen turned to Sara and popped the question she was longing to hear, “What would have to be true for us to buy a chateau in France?” They searched online for months viewing hundreds of properties. They narrowed their search and toured some properties when they happened upon the one that captured our hearts, Château de Saint-Germain-des-Prés. A year later they made the move to France to start their new adventure in our beautiful Château. They created “Manor and Maker” to reflect the two sides of their adventure. One, to live as chateau owners with all the ups and downs and two, to pursue their passions as makers, creating art in all its forms. They will invite others to come together, united by their passions, to share in this adventure. We invite you to join us too, as we bring our dreams to life. Welcome to Manor & Maker.
This was like watching a period movie. Bride and groom walking to the local town hall dressed in their finest, followed by a procession of family, friends and townspeople. All rejoicing in the happiness of the occasion. How lovely.
Been watching your wedding on all the UA-cam channels and I’m really enjoying it! Good luck to you both and please give us a close-up of the fabric on your wedding garments as a seamstress. I’m very interested in that.

Sara, I left the following message on Chateau Love for you after your request viewed on that channel regarding repairing antique silk. My idea is probably too far away to help, but maybe you’ll try to contact a museum there:
Vivienne, all I could think of for expertise regarding antique silk repair was from where I live, the Freer Gallery in Washington, DC. It’s a beautiful jewel of a museum that’s dedicated to Asian Art and part of the Smithsonian Institution. A curator there might be able to refer Sara to both reference material for silk restoration or a source for her that’s closer to home.

I teared up watching this video. Stephen looked so nervous, he just wanted to get to the 'I do' part! I love your sense of humor, Sarah. Joking about your first kiss, and how long you've had to wait. I also enjoyed your reaction to someone asking if your wedding was a theme wedding where the guests wouldn't play along: 'no, we told everyone it was a simple garden party, and that we would be ridiculous". Well, you certainly were not ridiculous, you and Stephen were splendid. Thank you for sharing your special day with us.

I was so glad to see Patrick and Stuart in attendance. I thoroughly enjoy them both. They would be so much fun at a wedding celebration.
Vivienne is such a delight too. Her husband, Simon, seems so comfortable in his skin. Their daughter, Isabella, looked so pretty in the backless dress. All three were absolutely dripping in Vivienne's fabulous cyber shop jewelry collection. I especially liked Simon's brooch and cufflinks combination.
I wanted to see more gift opening. That's one of the best parts of the occasion. You both have likely given countless wedding gifts to others over the years. Now it's your turn. Enjoy the good fortune your family and friends wish to bestow upon you. Don't be killjoys. At this stage of your life together, you probably have all the household items you need. Hopefully people take that into account and just give you money. Let me make it official, I voting for money, preferably cash, small bills.💶💵💴💷
On the subject of gifts, I suggest that you contact museum conservators concerning preserving your lovely silk panels, preferably ones at a textile museum. Good luck!🤞

How lucky one is to have such a thoughtful friend. I have to admit I too have a bit of chine addiction and actually got excited when I heard her say you can keep everything on the table (I laughed when Sara said "shut the front door" at at that) !!!! You go Viv!! That was a very thoughtful and generous gift, in my opinion. I have given a lot of vintage gifts but that was very original as far as vintage goes...

So exciting and dreams come true as they have with your Chateau and being married s at St Germains' which is just a walk from yoru home. All was lovely! (Did not see Stephanie and Philip but herard her voice and speaking to you after the marriage? Was it just on video, as she could not come, as they have been so busy?) Was confused as did not see them! Was looking for them, and then heard her talking. lol I think it was Sara's mom who really came down stairs and was crying as a mom of bride does and she was so sweet, and the father to Stephen I think too. Just perfect!

Happy to see the bride animated for just a split second, normally she’s stoic. Showing her natural hair was fine but I was hoping for an updo (Marie Antoinette style) BUT either way though I’m very happy for them regardless of anything else because they do make a really good choice together as a couple. You can tell they suit one another!! I wish them all the best in the world for a long and happy marriage!!!
