- I cannot believe that all of you bronies are very excited about Season 3. I composed a MLP FiM Boss Theme for King Somber. Imagine the ponies fought him at the Crystal Empire and using the Elements of Harmony against him. It took me about 3 hours to make this. Also I added the King K. Rool Boss Theme and NSMBWii Bowser Boss Theme(which I added the a little Crystal Fair Song into it.)
Sorry I spelled Sombra wrong.

Attacks: Dark Thunder (single target Dark attack), Crystal Sword (hits 2-6 party members), Dark Fire (fire balls split into 6 separate balls and strike either 1 party member 6 times or hit all 6 party members), Crystal Wall (wall must be destroyed before he can be damaged, wall has 1000 HP), Shadow Clone (Sombra creates a shadow of a random party member to fight by his side, clones have 1000 HP but half the stats), Crystal Prison (traps a party member in crystal, slowly draining their HP)
Desperation Move: When down to 3000 HP, Sombra transforms into his shadow self (the long black mist body with only his head) and perform multi hitting attacks on all party members, he remains in this form for the rest of the battle, making HP management crucial.
Listening to this, I can't help but think of Equestria-Prevail's depictions of ponies at war. An appropriately intense and exciting composition - well done.

Sombra's Ultimate; Black Parade.
Sombra summons two puppets; Sodom and Gomorrah, he then uses them to attack his opponent rapidly with various weapons and some dark magic. Then, the two puppets float on both sides of the opponent ,and (both with a dark magic weapon) charge at full speed; crushing them.

I personally thought that was what made him stand out. Rather than some hammy super-villain, King Sombra felt more like a Dark Overlord a la Sauron or Firelord Ozai. Even when he wasn't there, you could always feel his presence just from the way Celestia and his former subjects talked about him.

I can imagine this playing during the final boss of a Super Mario Galaxy 3. Especially at the part where you actually hear Bowser's theme.

People make fun of Sombra a lot because he barely made an appearance outside of a flashback. I guess they didn't pay attention to the newly-brought-back Crystal ponies, having flashbacks and other trauma-related troubles. We didn't see much of King Sombra himself, that's true; but the consequences of what he did weren't easily shaken off (until some crystal-plot-device magicked him into oblivion)

Nightmare Moon, Discord and Chrysalis all won their battles against the main characters (bearers of the elements + everyone else) and savored their victories, but only before they were defeated.
King Sombra didn't amount to even that much of an honor, because he failled in every single one of his attempts to take over the Crystal Empire. Literally, every single attempt that he made was a failure and resulted in defeat. Every last one of them..
It feel like we're battleing King sombra in RPG mode but hey this muisc is epic I play this over and over and never stop DX good work on the music.
Yeah, remember that a wave of shadows generated from the cut horn earlier in the episode. It's possible that he could regenerate from it. I kinda doubt it, but reeeeaaally wish that it would happen. I'd love to see him get some more screen time.

o i c. i think the reason why people say he's underdeveloped is that you dont get much of an insight into his personality. you just hear a few teensy little lines of dialogue, as opposed to the other villains, who go on and on and on...
It reminds me a bit of Final Fantasy, with a splash of Star Fox and a HINT of LoZ.

Lest we forget he embodies the Element of Fear as well as past villains have been Jealousy, Chaos, and Deception in a continually growing line of the Elements of Control. Personally, I think he's the villain with the most potential, but they don't go at all into explaining his origins, motives, or reasonings throughout the double-length feature. That's the disappointing part to me. He won't top Discord for me personally, but I'd love to see something more on him in a future episode.
Am I the only one who thinks that Sombra was Awesome? He could make a return in Season 5, which is btw CONFIRMED.

He is an awesome character but from what I was told his character was undeveloped. But people liked him.
In season 5, perhaps the ancestor of Alicorns and the real god would appear and the name is Alicos

Anyway if it's a good idea, i want to see an alicorn who possess the magic of nature that can create the entire natural things in Equestria (like water, wind, rock, fire, thunder, plants, ice, lava, iron, psychic, spirits, light and darkness), and he/she is the only alicorn who can give or take doom or bless from/to another creatures. Because i wanna see where's the magic that used to create living things in MLP. Also, let's talk about outer space in MLP? Is there another magical creatures in Equestria's outworld (outside of Equestria) ? I believe it could happened if Mrs. Faust wanna start another story of the Histories we never know. with G4 characters because G4 is the best amongst all MLP generations. You agree with me ?

I think King Sombra villain theme would actually fit well with My Innermost Apocalypse. I never even played Binding with Isaac before but damn the final boss music kicks ass! You should do it Kingspartax37!!

This fucking needs to be looped! Especially the part 1:57-2:20 is just perfect for someone as fearsome as Sombra. He didn't even get to fight, before he was thrown out again, but if he had the chance to fight with his full power and everything he's capable of, I'm sure, there won't be much who can best his strength. I'm pretty sure he's able to play in the same league as Discord, countering Discord's illusions and mindgames with pure strength and brutality.
That would be awesome.

My head canon is that Sombra was essentially a shadow of his former self in the episode, hence his lack of a real personality. All that remained after that time was the hate and lust for power. Note how surprised he looks as he takes corporeal form on the verge of seizing the Crystal Heart. I think that's the moment he was restored to his true self. While it was not enough time for him to show us his personality, it also kept him from sealing away the empire again. Hope he comes back!

It's like if you were fighting various Nintendo villains. I imagine you fighting K. Rool, Bowser, Andross, Ganondorf, Ridley, Hades, Emperor Bulblax, and Void Termina all at the same time as they fight their series heroes.

This is a good theme!
The overall pace and style of the music befits a king, and it sounds like actual effort was being put forth in arranging and layering instruments.
This could fit very well into a Final Fantasy Tactics setting =3

yah...I agree. I'm holding onto the faint impossibility that it's just Discord in disguise, since he's coming back in season 3.
Attacks:
Crystal Storm: Plants a circle of crystals around the party, arcing hate energy between them. Party needs to jump to avoid damage.
Shadow Haze: Obscures the party in a black void and pounces from the darkness attacking 1-2 party members at a time. Party needs to buck-kick/jump/duck at the right time to avoid damage.
STAIRS!!: Places the party at bottom of tall stairwell and unleashes shadow blasts. Party needs to jump over obstacles while climbing the stairs.
Epic! It sounds like a track i would hear in the classic Soul Edge game for Ps1
whats really scary about him is the fact that because of him they introduced a dark magic into the series (the fear magic twilight and celestia end up using) that alone is a gaping hole for whatever evil can appear in the future sombra included

Funny thing is that Sombra is actually THE darkest character that they've made so far. Hes just pure hatred. I sorta wish we coulda had more on him but hey, might as well keep playing as him in CIV 5.

I agree whole heartedly. There was som much potential behind this character. But I think that's why they didn't use him to the fullest extent. He truly could have been a very dark villain, maybe too dark for this show. I was honestly expect a combination of Saron from lord of the rings and Hannibal Lecter. But I guess my standerds were a bit too high. Then I found "Bleak".

That's what I thought too, until I went back and listened more carefully. Twilight and the Crystal Pony might mumble a bit, but they do say "Sombra". Hopeully, when is name is said elsewhere in the episode, it will be easier to understand.
King Sombra cast a curse on the entire empire just before he was banished out of spite. now that he returned it has also returned.

I hear King K Rool's final boss theme Donkey Kong 64 , Bowser's fight scene from New Super Mario Bros Wii BEFORE Bowser becomes giant, and the Crystal Empire Song
I think this would be Perfect For FNAF 3 Springtrap's Theme.
I can imagine his moves already.
One of them using his fear to paralyse the opponent, then he stabs them with his crystal.
Second send them flying into the air then he riding his dark crystal goes after him, then impales them with the crystal.
Middle of the game... Like, Nightmare Moon is the first boss, then after a few, King Sombra, then a late-game boss in the Changeling Queen (whose name I would like to point out was never revealed), with the final boss being either Discord, a corrupted Twilight Sparkle, or Princess Celestia, among a few other possibilities, depending on how you played the game. Either way, good work.
