  • 'The Shaman's Last Apprentice' is a narrative documentary focusing on the story of Rebekah Shaman, who in 1997 followed a vision she received from a Shaman calling her to the Amazon, where she found and studied intensively with a powerful Ayahuasquero Shaman in a little village nestled in a remote corner of the Amazon rainforest. Now she tells of her unique story working with the Shaman and Ayahuasca to connect with Mother Earth.
What follows is a warning from the Shaman to the West that we urgently need to change our relationship with each other, and with mother Earth.
Only when we understand how vital each one of us is to the future unfolding of this planetary story, can we find the courage to let go of the fear, evolve consciously, and step into our own power so we can be the change.
Directed and Produced by: Alexander Ward
    Featuring: Rebekah Shaman
    Runtime: 32:53
    Alexander Ward | Director's Bio:
Alexander Ward is an artist and film-maker coming from a highly trained background in traditional animation. Working as an Art Director in China for an animated feature, then moving into the Video Game industry as a Conceptual Artist.
Beginning to work in environmental documentaries after developing a profound connection to nature, he was led to work with the sacred medicine Ayahuasca in many journeys to the Amazon rainforest, tutored by native shamanic healers who practice in the tribal traditions, where he now proceeds to use his creative background in ways to promote the virtues of Ayahuasca, reconnecting to nature and the cultural shift that is evolving out of this.
Sharing his own journey with Ayahuasca in various documentary and media projects and bringing light to the stories of others touched by this powerful entheogen.

One does not need ayahuasca to connect with Mother Earth. One only needs to open up to Her and She responds. Same goes for the Great Spirit. Blessings to all pure souls

This is an awesome and awakening doc about the internal healing properties of Ayahuasca,
Don Juanito seemed to be a very enlightened human being, and Rebekah seems very passionate to keep his wisdom alive as well as bring her own healing energy into the experience.

I love this documentary. There is such rooted wisdom and direction. Its timeless. In regards to quality versus cuantity, this is defienetly one of the greatest ayahuasca documentaries i've seen. Short, straight forward and to the bone. I especially like the standpoints and how rebekah and her Maestro understood and worked with the plants. It is much how i am learning to see it myself. Thank you for this piece of work. gracias

Thank you for all of your time and efforts you invested to help all who need. There are those who seek religion and there are those, like me, that are seeking more because God is much much much more than what any religion has taught me. Recently, came to know and learning more about ayahuasca, the shamans, and all the different places where this healing medicine is given. With the thought and hope that I will be there soon, so it is, so it is done. Again, Alexander Ward for your love for humanity. Peace, Love, and Light.

People need to realize something: Druids, Shamans,Mystics etc belong to no Race, creed, or Master except the initiate willing to learn-that's it. Groups of practitioners have existed in every Country around the world, and all practice the same ideas with different flavor. So, stop assuming anything, and just accept what is to be.

FYI: the ayahuasca vine contains the MAOI, and the gut contains MAO which breaks down the DMT, thus the need for adding the MAOI (vine) to the DMT (chacruna leaves) so that it can be orally active. In the video Rebekah had stated that we have MAO inhibitors in our digestive system that block the DMT, which is not true.

They aren't inhaling the tobacco. Tobacco is puffed into the mouth and then out as a way to send out the prayers. I am sure that however your body natural resonates is perfect for you and you don't HAVE to do anything other than be who you are.

Yes, you don't have to do any tobacco or even ayahuasca to be a Shaman or follow Shamanism. Trust your soul and he Spirits around you and this is the foundation of the Shaman.

But I would also add that it would be a good idea to seek out somebody local to you who does shamanic work to help guide you through the process of integration after you return from Peru (I'm presuming you aren't peruvian!) best wishes :)
