The Shaman's Last Apprentice

- 'The Shaman's Last Apprentice' is a narrative documentary focusing on the story of Rebekah Shaman, who in 1997 followed a vision she received from a Shaman calling her to the Amazon, where she found and studied intensively with a powerful Ayahuasquero Shaman in a little village nestled in a remote corner of the Amazon rainforest. Now she tells of her unique story working with the Shaman and Ayahuasca to connect with Mother Earth.
What follows is a warning from the Shaman to the West that we urgently need to change our relationship with each other, and with mother Earth.
Only when we understand how vital each one of us is to the future unfolding of this planetary story, can we find the courage to let go of the fear, evolve consciously, and step into our own power so we can be the change.

One does not need ayahuasca to connect with Mother Earth. One only needs to open up to Her and She responds. Same goes for the Great Spirit. Blessings to all pure souls
It can certainly bring a lost sound back to ground for sure.
This is an awesome and awakening doc about the internal healing properties of Ayahuasca,
Don Juanito seemed to be a very enlightened human being, and Rebekah seems very passionate to keep his wisdom alive as well as bring her own healing energy into the experience.
I'm excited to bring 'The Shaman's Last Apprentice' online for everyone to see!

This is a truly beautiful piece of work, in all its aspects. Thanks a million, Alexander Ward.
I love this documentary. There is such rooted wisdom and direction. Its timeless. In regards to quality versus cuantity, this is defienetly one of the greatest ayahuasca documentaries i've seen. Short, straight forward and to the bone. I especially like the standpoints and how rebekah and her Maestro understood and worked with the plants. It is much how i am learning to see it myself. Thank you for this piece of work. gracias

Beautiful. Simply beautiful.
Beautifully done. Thank you.
Nice narrative and worl. It touched my heart that they paid homage to the piece of 14 year old bark before they cut it. Shared on my FB.
Thank you for all of your time and efforts you invested to help all who need. There are those who seek religion and there are those, like me, that are seeking more because God is much much much more than what any religion has taught me. Recently, came to know and learning more about ayahuasca, the shamans, and all the different places where this healing medicine is given. With the thought and hope that I will be there soon, so it is, so it is done. Again, Alexander Ward for your love for humanity. Peace, Love, and Light.
Thank you Alex and Rebekah for sharing this beautifully produced documentary, I felt at home and at peace watching it...Bendiciones!

Awesome, I appreciate your work man!
excellent. thank you for posting.
They use tobacco in conjunction with Ayahuasca…To help calm you down during the use it is a very intense hallucinogenic…And the tobacco is part of the ritual use of Ayahuasca…Very interesting mapacho. (black tobacco) It is a very strong tobacco…
Brilliant artistry.
Brilliant!!
how cute that she planted it.. Plus it surprised me how much it grew
Thank you for this xo
Great video ! Awesome job 🔥
Thank you. Excellent. 🤍🌹🕊
Thank you
People need to realize something: Druids, Shamans,Mystics etc belong to no Race, creed, or Master except the initiate willing to learn-that's it. Groups of practitioners have existed in every Country around the world, and all practice the same ideas with different flavor. So, stop assuming anything, and just accept what is to be.
I feel like shamans though, are more specifically done so by native or indigenous peoples.
beautiful!!!
FYI: the ayahuasca vine contains the MAOI, and the gut contains MAO which breaks down the DMT, thus the need for adding the MAOI (vine) to the DMT (chacruna leaves) so that it can be orally active. In the video Rebekah had stated that we have MAO inhibitors in our digestive system that block the DMT, which is not true.
amazing! thanks

Just stopped at 2:16 as a loud clanking noise got my attention. It was my obsidian rock with a heart on it falling into the sunflower vase I keep next to my desk. It "woke" me up.
Great story.
thank you i really wish this is possible for me im at a crossroad in my life. Ready for my true calling and healing. i really want to heal!!

an account of a survivor asking for help to save herself, thanks for posting
Right there with you. Still trying to heal from much trauma. Sending my love, I know how painful it can be. 💗
That was beautiful
awesome I would love to go there someday
Wishing a loving journey.
the root of the plant taking us into our heart...not using the top of the plant which takes us into the mind...POWERFUL
Oh wow. The large collections I've been on do not use the roots of the vine. That could be part of why I had such horrific experiences.
I really love it! Keep going..:-)
Every time I hear Fossil Club's I'm Trying, I'm trying I just feel so happy. It's such a beautiful tune.
:) Me too!
What's the soundtrack? Love this :)
Don Juanito was a great person. He truly surrendered himself to be the receiver of the Mother Nature wisdom.
In england we have the fly agarac mushroom I swear it heals alcohol addiction and depression a butifule healing mushroom
ua-cam.com/video/ZzxoLN25FAw/v-deo.html
If that's the case
Where can we try it?
I wish I could get ahold of some of this stuff would love to experience the journey.
They are right Ayahuasca does take you to an elevated level. It is actually a really good anit-depressant for all types of mental illness. The chemicals in it truly do have mind healing properties!
Looks so peaceful, sick of the concrete and metal monsters(cars),not sure if want to take the ayouwasca though ,it petrifies me thinking about halocenigens t.b.h,sorry about spelling, great video
Haha, it’s medicine no need for fear. Relax shaman way.
💜
Wonderful documentary Alexander! Is it true that the vine is becoming more scarce these days?
Yes this is true.
🙏🙏🙏
great documentary,
The Amazon is as mysterious as it is beautiful
umm... at 26:00, where she is chanting and waving that batch of leaves... i remember hearing that somewhere before.
If this is the shamans last apprentice, good night 👀
Divine intervention.
I.love this plant it has taught me so much of whom I am and I love it for I also recieved a song where as the birds sing with
I went to Peru for love and healing. I got a horrific experience. I've had PTSD for the past four years. I don't know how to move past my bad experiences. I stayed in Peru for over a month by myself to do my work.
I don't think you can blame that on Peru . . .look within for answers.
@Alex Smith Sorry for the late reply... long story, lol. No I haven't. Have you?
Would LOVE to see it translated to brazilian portuguese! Anyone, please? Thank you!
16:50 - She describes MAOIs incorrectly. The ingested substance acts as the MAOI; it is not something present in the body.
She said it correctly, she just shouldnt have said inhibitors in the body, she ment Mao in the body, technically wrong but anybody interested enough to watch this video would understand, she did say the substance is the MAOI
This was truly beautiful, thank you for sharing.
Can you still be a shaman or lead a truly spiritual life without smoking? I have never smoked I don't like it it makes me eyes sting.
They aren't inhaling the tobacco. Tobacco is puffed into the mouth and then out as a way to send out the prayers. I am sure that however your body natural resonates is perfect for you and you don't HAVE to do anything other than be who you are.
Correction: they are probably not inhaling as the native practices I have been involved in, the leaders didn't inhale bc that is bad for the throat and eyes.
Yes, you don't have to do any tobacco or even ayahuasca to be a Shaman or follow Shamanism. Trust your soul and he Spirits around you and this is the foundation of the Shaman.
Amazing.. Any body knows how can i expirience this intenal journey like where can i talk to somebody about this ceremonies
this is where I stayed
www.sachamamajardin.com/
But I would also add that it would be a good idea to seek out somebody local to you who does shamanic work to help guide you through the process of integration after you return from Peru (I'm presuming you aren't peruvian!) best wishes :)
I had a series of traumatic events in my life, and now im searching for an apprenticeship. Do you, or anyone you know need an apprentice?
'Nobody died in his home, that means he was a really good shaman." lol
Perhaps most of us can call ourselves good shaman then eh! ;)
