Love the intro. Glad you could get the Tandy working. I would love to see another video game live stream playing the GameCube. That’s my favorite Nintendo system.
Ahh. Canon in D. Was my favorite song on my Tandy 1000 TL/2. Brings back Memories. When you were getting ready to choose a song, I was glad that you picked Canon. 🙂I also had OutRun for my Tandy 1000 computer, but It was a female voice saying "Sega Computer Software Presents.....OutRun". I want my Tandy 1000 TL/2 back. Sadly I sold my Tandy 1000 back in the 90s. Thanks for sharing!
My career started on one of those. Changed my life forever. Two 20 megabyte drives. Thought I'd never use all that memory. It cost as much as a car back then.
I've had an original Sound Blaster in my 1000TL since the Sound Blaster was released, and for whatever reason I never had a conflict. I can select 3 voice or sound blaster and they both work fine. I think I just got lucky. BTW, next time I see you at the parks, I'm probably going to talk Tandy stuff with you! haha!
Glad you got things working. Another solution would be to use a newer Sound Blaster model like a CT4170. This is what I have in my Tandy 1000 TL/3. I use Unisound to set the DMA to channel 3. That is how I got around the DMA confict with channel 1 and the Tandy DAC.
Hi Joseph! I had read about that possibility as well, but only after I got my CT1350B and found out it had a conflict. But I'm glad the DMA sharing worked! Since then, I've spoken to a few people who said it didn't work for them, so it's really card specific, I think. Is the CT4170 a 16 bit card? I know you can use them in 8 bit slots, but I was always a little nervous about that since I've never tried it. Thanks for watching!!
It is a 16-bit card, but plays nice in an 8-bit slot. I use the BLASTER=A220 I5 D3 H3 P330 T6 J0 environment variable. The J0 will turn off the joystick port, but you can use J200 if you turn off the onboard joystick interface on the TL/2 using a program like TLJOYFIX. Just run UNISOUND and you are all set. I have never had an issue using a CT4170 in any of my XT Class systems. One thing some people do not like about this card is uses Creative's CQM vs a real Yahama FM chip for OPL3. It is just a matter of preference and something to keep in mind.@@retrotv1tech
I loved your reaction when you got it to work lol. So glad you were able to fix it with the jumper on the first try! 🤗
Thanks Nikki!!

Kudos to you Josh. I never heard of Tandy. This is very interesting and I am glad that you got things solved.
Ever hear of Radio Shack? Tandy is the parent company.
I enjoyed the premiere! I look forward to future streams of games on this computer! 😊

It sure did! So cool!
Fun Video as always Josh!

My first computer was a timex Sinclair 2000. I might still have it 1982, I think. Good job Josh. 🎉
Timex Sinclair computers run with numbers 1000, 1500, and 2068.
That's cool! Somebody gave me one of those too! I need to mess around with it sometime!
I had a Tandy 1000 from Radio shack as a kid.
Tandy was my first desktop computer in 1988
So glad it was an easy fix
The first computer we bought from Radio Shack didn't even have a hard drive. 😮
Awesome
That's great 👍
Thx Josh 😊
Love the intro
the why files uses it as well.
How do you figure all of this out? 🤔
Books.
