Thats a 10 out of 10 from me for a reallyxgood video on how a bell works and also training someone up. Must admit i have never heard it called tail stroke, i know it as backstroke but its the same thing. Old Warner bells from 1979, would be nice to see them retuned with modern simpson tuning.
Thankyou, yes it is more commonly known as backstroke and I probably should have said 'backstroke' instead of 'tailstroke'. I guess it's because you are holding the 'tail' end of the rope. Glad you liked the video.
@paulrampton9861 one little training aid you have which I have never seen before is the dummy tail end, that is a fantastic idea. I thought yout explanation of how a bell operates was really good, probably the best I have seen if im honest.
Hi, yes I used Gopro's. Due to the limited space available, it would have been difficult to secure larger cameras in the tower. I used 4 Gopro's and was able to quickly and easily fix them in various positions.
The shots at the end showing all 8 bells ringing were again taken with 2 Gopro cameras. I positioned them on small ledges in 2 corners of the belfry and angled them down at the bells.
I rang my first peal here, in 1986. Nice to see some familiar faces too, Leigh and Rik
This is a very educational video! I would like to ring here at some point!
Brilliant Video! I rang here about two weeks ago at a district ringing gathering. Interesting installation.

Very nice Paul well done
Absolutely superb, thank you 🔔🔔🔔
Hi Paul, this is an excellent video. Thanks.
Thank you! Fascinating.
Great Video, although I do miss ringing due to poor health which prevents me from ringing on tower bells.
Fantastic demonstration. May I ask what camera you used in the belfry?

@@paulrampton9861 Thanks, what one was used for the last recording?
Which bit do you mean by last recording, do you mean the outside of the tower shots?
@@paulrampton9861 Last two belfry ones :)

I believe the Grandsire at the end is the same that I filmed from Downstairs!
8 bells cast by john warner and sons in 1879
Ah Doveguide you done it again.
