This brings back fond memories. The transmission sound of the Major ploughing in 1st high gear. My late Father called it "ploughing gear" Thanks for sharing your video
Great video Steve! The P6 and Roadless both run beautifully! Seeing your “dockey bag” hung around the air cleaner reminded me of life with tractors in the 60s!
Yes, you have a lovely set up, it certainly reminded me of the early sixties, we got the local blacksmith to fit a cab on our major, my older brother who used to do all the ploughing pretty much with a three furrow Ransomes one way plough wore a big leather sheepskin jacket.
@TheGrimReaper1 the boy's were tougher in them day's when army coats were the norm when wet through like hanging a 4stone weight on your shoulders all day, can you imagine the tractor brigade of today doing that 😳 🤣
Great ploughing video and for anyone thats worked an E1a thats a sound that brings back memories 👌cant remember if thats the Ransomes reversible same as we had but furrow widths were 11 inch or 13 inch as opposed to 12 and 14 which we got later💪👍
Brilliant job Steve just as good if not better than using a satellite to guide the tractor true ploughing, my brother in law is a fendt pilot and it's all satellite work today so good to see a craftsman doing a proper job 👍
The Power Major is making light work with that TS 83. I remember when the first Ford 5000 came out they were often out classed with the New Performance Super Majors
@dellhell8842 yes i suppose it was all about cost it would have been been a considerable amount back in the fiftys and early sixtys when rationing was still in force
Glad you too call them skieths, l mentioned this to someone and they had no idea what l was on about, anyway, something else Steve, as you know, them power majors don’t have draft control, but obviously with it being four wheel drive well boss of the plough👍
@glennlingard7851 yes the roadless conversion does transform the tractor that's for sure, but it's a relatively light tractor and it's all about getting the power to the ground that's where all the weights come in, there not just for show 😉
@@FenlandCrusader exactly, along with that we still use our classic tractors including our 1953 diesel major, fortunately it’s live drive and very lucky a raised pto to boot.
Lovely watching the roadless doing a great job ploughing with the 3 furrow reversible 👍 some interesting camera angles.
@martingibbs9277 Thanks, not the best i forgot to take my proper camera mount with me so I had to improvise, but pleased you like it 👍
Love seeing the old tractors out working
@christopherrolfe4543 thanks keep looking there's plenty more to come 👍

That is a great tractor Steve. At least you didn't have to call your dealer and plug in a laptop!

@whathasxgottodowithit3919. yes i know what you mean, but the 1000 series of tractor's are very good and paved the way for all what was to come 👍
My goodness, that Roadless Power Major is pulling well. Always surprises me that diff locks only appeared on the Super Majors in the early 1960s.
