I love your passion for your team. I am a wsu cougar fan and have been for over 50 years, and I have experienced highs and lows. Have got so angry I could have broken the tv. Every year feels like this is going to be the year only to have our hearts ripped out. BUT I will never give up on them, and I know you won't give up on your red raiders.
What's perplexing to me is that anyone--even diehard Tech fans---actually expected TT to win this game. Washington State has a history of exceptional quarterbacks, winning in Pullman, and is currently on a mission to fight the disrespect they received when most of the rest of the Pac12 was invited to join other major conferences, but they were not. I couldn't have been more sure who was going to win this game before it even started.

The fact we went over time at home with Abilene Christian was all we needed to see. The Raiders suck this year. Tech has been left behind when it comes to football. We are now the north Texas UTSA level or even worse.
Getting chewed up on the ground sucks, but 4 turnovers is unacceptable. The little mistakes like penalties, blown assignments, missed tackles…they’re indicative of a lack of focus and discipline.

To win, you have to execute. Wazzu did. The other power 5 schools didn’t. My guess is that outside of what used to be our conference, fewer and fewer P5 schools will be coming to Pullman. That’s the way it used to be. If we wanted to play those schools we went to Auburn twice, Ohio State, Wisconsin, BYU, etc… or caught them in bowl games like Texas, Iowa State, Baylor, BYU. Colorado, Arizona, ASU, Utah all get invited to a P5 conference. You’re embarrassed!? Did you see what we did to Colorado last year! And the 5 years prior to that.

Actually this is the last thing. Leach was not perfect. Many accuse him of neglecting defense. But he revolutionized the passing game for all of college football. His offense did a few things and they did them exceptionally well. Maybe not such a bad model to follow in the general sense of perfecting what you do on offense.

We are worse in year 3 than year one. Horrible decision-making when it comes to game management. You could have kicked a field goal and cut the lead to 8 early in the game. You went for it on 4th & 11 on your side of the field 🫣, WTF! At some point you need to start coaching, instead of gambling on every position. Its a chess game not checkers. You have to try & force the other team to play the type of game you want, dictate that on the field, then make adjustments along the way, not give the game away in the first quarter. What are they doing there. The game decisions do not make sense.

Well I only saw one team last night make an adjustment and fix their tackling woes and it was not tech. WSU was flying around and making sure tackles last night. It's almost as bad as with Jerry Moore. I was in the Tech band. I remember going to Dallas to play SMU knowing that we were going to get the shit beat out of us. If a coaching change is coming at the end of the year, provided they do not get this straightened out. Some coaches they should consider. 1. Jeff Fisher 2. Pete Carol 3. Chris Peterson - convince him to come out of retirement. 4. Glenn Schumann - DC at Georgia (Best choice) 5. Garet Riley ? Outside the box coaches. If college football is trending towards an NFL model, then maybe we should start looking at former NFL coaches or coaches with a proven track record for winning or building up a program. Just a thought.

So I think Kittley is too immature like Kingsbury was as a head coach. Kittley may claim to be air raid but his play call is either hitch screen or all verts with no outlet/check downs. He doesn’t mesh, shallows, anything that gives multiple layers to the passing game to give a short medium and deep option. As far as defense goes the 3 man front is horrible. We don’t do anything to stop the run or get after the QB. Put 4 guys with their hand in the ground.

I told you last week when we heard about depth on D, then when we didn't see it against ACU, it was "inexperienced" depth. What I want to know is does our staff know that winning at this level isn't easy? Last September was strike one for McGuire, this semester is strike 2. I am pulling for McGuire to figure it out because the coaching caracul is worse.

One word: Humiliating. I was seven rows up from the Tech bench - to see the lack of intensity on the sideline (less the first interception and one occasion Joey McGuire chewed the D line out) was bad, but the fist bumping on the sidelines after horrible plays is inexcusable. In my opinion, to put that performance out on a night Mike Leach was honored is shameful to his legacy.
I don’t mind going for it on 4th down, but be smart about it. How many games have turned because we went for it, and failed? Sure, we beat Texas two years ago because we were successful. However, if you insist on doing it, what has to change is the play calls on 4th down. We ran the wildcat with conyers, and he went on the right side of the line every time. Any defense coordinator worth a damn will tell his guys, load up on that side because that is where they are going to go. I have followed Tech since the 1970’s, and the last two weeks have tested my resolve in sticking with this football team. I stayed up, and watched the entire sixty minutes, and I am old. I show up. When are the coaches and players going to show up, and give fans a reason to believe in this team?

OK admitted armchair quarterback here but nonetheless here goes nothing. Taj was out and Taj was strength. So why not play to the remaining strengths, AKA speed? Where were the jet sweeps? Where were the dink and dunk slant routes? Throwing to the flats is only gonna work so many times and barely throwing downfield isn't gonna work at all.

Kittley won't adjust because every time a play fails, he looks at the diagram in his playbook and the play works perfectly, so he runs it again, and again or a slight variation ----- each time expecting a different outcome. Maybe that is the fundamental diagnosis of Tech's offensive issues. Nothing else explains his actions any better.
Texas Tech led and Joey McGuire are a marketing machine and nothing else. Cool uniforms. A cool end zone. Great cinematic videos. Terrible coaching. Terrible talent evaluation and terrible execution. And I'll say it again Morton is very overrated. Tell me one thing he has done as a Red Raider.

We are worse in year 3 than year one. Horrible decision-making when it comes to game management. You could have kicked a field goal and cut the lead to 8 early in the game. You went for it on 4th & 11 on your side of the field 🫣, WTF! At some point you need to start coaching, instead of gambling on every position. Its a chess game not checkers. You have to try & force the other team to play the type of game you want, dictate that on the field, then make adjustments along the way, not give the game away in the first quarter. What are they doing there. The game decisions do not make sense.
I’m so fucking tired of this shit. Why the fuck can’t we air the ball out we got all these “talented WRs” and all we do is fucking throw screen passes to them which also get called back 50% of the time because of holding. Also having 8 turnovers is fucking crazy. Idk how many drives we had but we had to turn the ball over 30-40% of possessions. It’s just too hard to put an already sorry ass defense out there half the time with wazzu starting in our territory or close to it. I just want to see change I don’t care if it doesn’t work but I just wanna see an adjustment

My word is Lost. One has to wonder if these coaches can make any sort of adjustments. I did not see the WSU game last week vs Portland but it sounded like their d tackling was an issue last week. Well I only saw one team last night make an adjustment and fix their tackling woes and it was not tech. WSU was flying around and making sure tackles last night. Tech is playing peewee football and trying to learn how to not commit penalties and turn the ball over… I’m so over this programs inept ability to play good football.

Still struggling on whether the offense issues are a QB thing or an OC thing…. I think it’s both, but I used to lean about 80% OC 20% QB… after this weekend…. After I watched us over and under throw damn near every ball over 10 yards…. I’m not so sure anymore
Well, I predicted 81-45 WSU win, so at least the D played better (a little) than last week. RC, this is how I felt last year after the UT loss. I've been watching Tech's shit for 61 years now. It's almost as bad as with Jerry Moore. I was in the Tech band. I remember going to Dallas to play SMU knowing that we were going to get the shit beat out of us. We placed "Help Jerry's Kid's" signs on each bus....reference to Jerry Lewis' MDA Telethons, LOL! We got through it with having a lot of fun and ignoring most of the games as we went 3-8 his last year. Oh yeah....a lot of alcohol helped too.....!!

So I think Kittley is too immature like Kingsbury was as a head coach. Kittley may claim to be air raid but his play call is either hitch screen or all verts with no outlet/check downs. He doesn’t mesh, shallows, anything that gives multiple layers to the passing game to give a short medium and deep option. As far as defense goes the 3 man front is horrible. We don’t do anything to stop the run or get after the QB. Put 4 guys with their hand in the ground.

Well now, welcome to September, this is why I said talk in August is easy. I think we are seeing that Joey McGuire is the kind of guy who tells people what they want to hear. I told you last week when we heard about depth on D, then when we didn't see it against ACU, it was "inexperienced" depth. What I want to know is does our staff know that winning at this level isn't easy?
Last September was strike one for McGuire, this semester is strike 2. I am pulling for McGuire to figure it out because the coaching caracul is worse.

Well, be careful what you wish for. MW Boise just scared the hell (out of a vastly overrated) Oregon. Air Force routinely upsets someone big. Fresno State has no respect for anyone. Ask USC. UNLV just handed Houston their testicles. 20 years of season tickets at Air Force and I have seen some good football. Air Force has beaten Colorado two years in a row. Not beaten, beat down actually.

Despicable! I made the game to see such a poorly coached game. I believed they would control the clock, keep a ground game but threw in obvious run situations. Glad to see my son get the start, but am seeing statements as to how we lack depth at RB?! How tf would we know if you did not run the damn ball through them? Just to be from Texas with all of our hyped football programs to go out and get our asses whipped like that I am baffled. I believe 15 total carries and they both had some big gains 🤔
They keep talking about complimentary football but I’m not sure they know what that means..
One word: Humiliating. I was seven rows up from the Tech bench - to see the lack of intensity on the sideline (less the first interception and one occasion Joey McGuire chewed the D line out) was bad, but the fist bumping on the sidelines after horrible plays is inexcusable. In my opinion, to put that performance out on a night Mike Leach was honored is shameful to his legacy.
I don’t mind going for it on 4th down, but be smart about it. How many games have turned because we went for it, and failed? Sure, we beat Texas two years ago because we were successful. However, if you insist on doing it, what has to change is the play calls on 4th down. We ran the wildcat with conyers, and he went on the right side of the line every time. Any defense coordinator worth a damn will tell his guys, load up on that side because that is where they are going to go.
I have followed Tech since the 1970’s, and the last two weeks have tested my resolve in sticking with this football team. I stayed up, and watched the entire sixty minutes, and I am old. I show up. When are the coaches and players going to show up, and give fans a reason to believe in this team?

OK admitted armchair quarterback here but nonetheless here goes nothing. Taj was out and Taj was strength. So why not play to the remaining strengths, AKA speed? Where were the jet sweeps? Where were the dink and dunk slant routes? Throwing to the flats is only gonna work so many times and barely throwing downfield isn't gonna work at all.

Kittley won't adjust because every time a play fails, he looks at the diagram in his playbook and the play works perfectly, so he runs it again, and again or a slight variation ----- each time expecting a different outcome. Maybe that is the fundamental diagnosis of Tech's offensive issues. Nothing else explains his actions any better.
