Well after scrolling through the comments one more A+ for this security camera. Before you buy make sure your wifi is very good and throughout your home and continues outside your home. Our camera is mounted in an area on the porch which protects it from snow/rain, etc. and easy to reach to format SD card when we have to. We are a good 400 feet from a very rural paved road and the camera picks up the motion of headlights passing down the road at nighttime. (motion setting is turned off when we retire and just person detection is set) The set up because we have good wifi was very easy to do.
Both cameras suddenly down & unconnectable the last 2 weeks. Heartbroken. Had them for 2 years and relied on them for so much. Recently bought 2 bulbs because I love the Tapo system. Not any more. What has happened??

Absolutely great security camera, although need to shut off just the motion at night too many deer, cats, etc coming into the driveway. Wondering about the SD card. Notification messages are deleted after view, but how many photos and recordings can this SD card hold? Hate to take those little screws out and format the card, but don't want it to get full and not record any longer either. Please advise?

Just bought three of these cameras and sent them straight back as they are totally unusable. The cable is so short it isn't even long enough for internal walls let alone passing through breeze block and an external stone skin.
How about focusing the video on the phone screen for the tutorial rather than a camera sitting idle. Also slowing the set up process would help this ol gal...been hitting pause and play and still working it. Thank you
Well, it is possible to record without an internet connection. The big disadvantage (at least for me) is you won't be able to see the saved recordings unless you remove the SD card from the camera and insert it in your PC.
I don't need the small bit of Ethernet cable that is dangling at the back of the camera as I have it connected wireless through WIFI. Can I cut that bit off with a Stanley knife as that is excess wiring? Will it affect the operation of the camera?
you need to add an SD card to the camera in order to do continuous or event recording directly on the camera. ( see steps above ) then you should be able to use the playback video feature
Just done 2 cameras after installing a router mesh network, new SSID and password. The EASY way...... don't mess about, I wasted half an hour trying to connect.....take the cover off the bottom, press the reset button with a small flat screwdriver for 10 seconds, disconnect the power for a few seconds, reconnect and then go to your phone. The camera now appears in your wireless settings. Go back to the Tapo app and it will walk you through. Keep your settings, next page you'll set the new SSID and password. Less than 5 minutes per camera to fix.
I totally agree with you that having a zoom feature would be a great addition to this and any camera BUT since this is a fixed mounted camera with fixed field of view (no pan and tilt feature) having zoom won’t really function the way you would want it to as it would only zoom in on the center of the camera’s focal point.
I find it the most uselssssssss peice of technology in a long time, it never stays logged it, it doesn't keep recording even when I set it to recorded every day of the month. Absolutttte peice of crap camera, I'm sorry I ever bought it , 5 weeks of hell with It so far.

@@johnkar9657 This cam needs Internet and connects to internet through a WIFI router. If by hub you mean NVR, it does not need NVR, but can work with NVR. It is stand alone, and stores the recording on an SD Card just like how your phone does.
For some reason 3 of my 4 (2 outside and 2 inside) cameras were suddenly offline. Nothing wrong with my WiFi or router. Disconnected and reset them all. Can’t install any of them. Problem with pairing to the router. Why…..
Update. Shut down the router for 3 minutes and turned it back on. Fixed the problem and now all cameras can be installed again. Just going to get the 4 meter ladder in the snow to install the outside camera….
Imho, Imou (dahua) bullet is much better. We have both the 4MP tapo c320ws and imou bullet 2c and the imou is better especially since the push notifications has pciture thumbnails. Unlike tapo you have to pay. It aslo has better specs: H265 Vs H264 encoding, hotspot support vs none, ip67 vs ip66, and imou has pc app to monitor the cameras live vs none)
Could Storage is available now. Not too costly either. I've just ordered my first one after using TAPO C100 for a week. Good so far. Hopefully the C310 quality is good for my backyard and driveway.

We need to put this camera up over the next few days and intend to run it as a purely wi-fi connection. I intend to run the connection cables through a drilled hole in the wooden soffit board and then connect via the plug to a power source. It would be useful to know if I can 'snip' off the large round ethernet connector, as this will never be used. Reluctant to do so without first knowing that it won't affect the operational use of the camera. Thanks in advance if anyone can answer.
I've just bought one of these and intend to have it outside. I had hoped to use it wirelessly, but, unless there is an ethernet cable connected to the camera, there is no way to stop water getting inside. You're not provided with anything to seal where the connection would be.
@@derekacura4580 Yes, you’re absolutely right, there are seals for the power and Ethernet. But, if you don’t want to connect an Ethernet cable, there’s no way to completely seal the hole the cable would go into. Surely a cap should have been included.

@@Q22ube The electrician said he would install a small tidy box to hide excess cable in so there would be no need to cut off the ethernet wire.
