Warsak Dam Experimental Sediments Flushing

  • A team of national and international experts are carrying out experimental sediment flushing at Warsak Dam to enhance the reservoir capacity and power generation.
    Warsak Dam is built on River Kabul which carry very high sediments and is well known for its turbidity. The sediments has limited the reservoir capacity and scientists are finding out a sustainable solution to this problem.

    Vow thats a great idea. Flushing gates built for such purpose were a very wise decision. So what were the findings of the team

    I am subscriber 85🇨🇦 there are some stories circulating around this area that the sediment actually flushed out over $1 million worth of gold that some one fishing 🎣 retrieved?

      Department of Fisheries Khyber Pakhtunkhwa replenish the dam with quality fish seed/fast growing varieties to minimize the impacts of sediments flushing

      The water is coming from River Chitral where the river enter Afghanistan at Arandu near Kunar Province and then it enter back to Pakistan downstream of Kama.

      It’s the sediment at the bottom of the river, lake that’s has filtered down to bottom by dam. With the sediment at that range levels very little room to hold back flood waters, my flat lands humble opinion.
