Like Megamind, for example, is good because it’s not an actual cartoon, just an animated movie on its own, so it’s ok that they used average, ordinary actors. Scoob is based off of Scooby-Doo, obviously, and the voice actors shouldn’t have been changed. Frank Welker reprising the Scooby-Doo role is good, but Fred is his character, so they really screwed him over like that. Zac Efron was great as Fred, but they shouldn’t have used him because again, that’s Franks character. Zac matches Fred in many ways, but never should’ve been casted for the role of Fred Jones. Scoob Doo is such an iconic and long-running franchise, I'm really surprised no one has ever made a full documentary with the writers and producers about how the show was created, and how it evolved. There should be hours of interview footage with the entire creative team, from the artists to the musicians.

@Thomas Jepson Oh yeah I totally agree, I remember last year in February after seeing Mystery Incorporated return to Netflix, I was overcome with joy and had regained my interest in Scooby-Doo after somehow losing interest in 2014(I believe, somewhere in there). I binge watched the show, then What’s New, and then I saw so many Scooby-Doo productions I hadn’t watched since like from 2010-2012, and I also binged some of the classics, such as Where Are You and currently I am watching The Scooby Doo Show. Also not only did I regain all my interest and love for the franchise back, but I regained my interest in cartoons completely back and I started to gain more knowledge on Scooby-Doo then ever, and I watched so many productions last year, it was so fun and relaxing to regain my interest in it. The franchise will always hold a special place in my heart and is one of the main reasons I want to be a voice actor. Also it’s nice to see some real Scooby-Doo fans in this comment section, I have barely encountered any since October 2020.

That's the late Don Messick. There are some video clips of him where he performs a lot of his characters: Scooby, Papa Smurf, Astro, Muttley, Boo Boo Bear, Pixie Mouse, etc. Don was a legendary voice at the Hanna-Barbera cartoon studio. He was also a ventriloquist but didn't pursue it as a career in the way Paul Winchell did. Paul was also a voice actor in cartoons. Frank Welker is also phenomenal and has voiced a lot of cartoon characters over the decades. He can do this high pitched squeaky voice...he's used it for characters like Slimer, Curious George, Mr. Mxyzptlk and Doll Maker (both from the 1980's Super Friends cartoons), Schmoo. Frank's impression of Curly Howard from 'The Three Stooges' became the voice of the cartoon shark character, Jabberjaw.
All these years until now seeing this video I knew Frank Welker was great at doing voices & assumed he voiced Scooby Doo. Turns out Frank did Fred ❤️ nice to see him voicing Dynomutt.
Frank Welker is my hero and my favorite VA. The others in this video are honorable mentions, especially Casey Kasem and Don Messick. Also, I saw Scooby-Doo Legend Of The Vampire last year, and I absolutely loved it. It was a great plot and movie yes, but the things that I loved most about it were the remixes of the original 1969 music (I almost had multiple attacks of excitement while hearing every single one pop up and I almost died when I heard the remix of the chase theme) and most of all, how all of the original voice actors came back, sadly Messick wasn’t there to voice Scooby😔. I give the film itself a full 10/10, but it terms of completion, 9/10. It wouldn’t be complete without Messick.

Casey Kasem did Shaggy's dad in Mystery Inc and by that point he was already 78 before he got Lewy Body Dementia the same thing Robin Williams got in 2013. That type of dementia takes you really quick.
For me being born in the mid-90s and growing up in the 90s going into the 2000's, I grew up with a lot of the adaptations of Scooby-Doo going from the cartoon movies like Zombie Island including the version when they was kids, but overall I always grew up on the original cast who will always be Mystery Inc to me 😁

For me being born in the mid-90s and growing up in the 90s going into the 2000's, I grew up with a lot of the adaptations of Scooby-Doo going from the cartoon movies like
Zombie Island including the version when they was kids, but overall I always grew up on the original

At the time at when the show first aired? Yeah. In this interview they were like in their 50s(Welker, Jaffe, North) and/or 60s(Messick and Kasem).
Actually back at the premiere of the original series here was their ages Don was 43, Casey 37, Heather joined at 25 beginning in 1970, Nichole was 28, Indira left around the time she turned 23 Frank was also 23, and Pat joined in 1976 when she was 31.
