I own a 2016 HP laptop with 1TB HDD. I did the instructions as clear as I can, and now I'm thankful for you helping me upgrade my laptop to a new HP 1TB SSD. I'm also verifying that the "Macrium viBoot" software is also authentic and safe, and most importantly FREE. Yep, it's really free, and a whole lot better than the AOMEI backupper (which was my first cloning software... that isn't free, but I liked the look of the software more than Macrium, but Macrium helped me better with the cloning process without unnecessary pop-ups/trial fees). The only thing I'm going to say is that you literally have to type up the registration code with the dash symbol (-); the copy and paste method won't work on the Macrium registration/activation box. Anyways, my new SSD was connected using a SATA external enclosure with cable connected to the laptop; this has to be connected to the laptop before you turn on your laptop, so that the system along with the Task Manager app recognize that you have an SSD connected to the computer (don't try to restart your computer). It has taken me 23 minutes of the cloning process to be completed from the Macrium software after many procedures. However, after the cloning process and swapping out my old HDD with the new SSD inside of the laptop to power up from, a problem occurred, but the system retried it and was working flawlessly; had to test it a few times as a "boot" before installing it into the laptop and replacing the old HDD. Now my laptop takes about 6 seconds to go to the password menu after start up. And takes under a single second to open up apps (that's because I added 16GB of RAM). Thanks for helping me out, and saving my computer so that I won't have to worry about buying a new one.

I have found a way out! After booted from new SSD... 1go to Disk management then right click on the unallocated space or right click on the Actual disk partition then select Expand volume..from there you should get the unallocated space back usable as normal
Ive swapped out ssd's before using Samsung magician software. This time it wouldn't see both Samsung drives for some reason or other. Using the Ease... software I was able to see and clone the drive I wanted. Thanks for your help!
you need to reset your new SSD as the boot device. This is done in the BIOS selection. You access that easily. Just google which keys to use for your particular operating system. It's either " Escape " F2 or F8. Turn off your pc, wait 5 seconds, restart and then start hitting the correct key repeatedly until the BIOS screen options open up. Then you can select which drive you want to use to boot your system. I hope this helps.
if you did as Louisa said and it didn't work make sure that your SSD is in the right format, I did this a really long time ago so I can't remember what the correct format was called but make sure that your SSD is in the right format to be bootable from, search it up.

If my hdd 1tb is installed inernally on my computer, then i buy and external ssd 500gb. How do i clone windows to my ssd, then remove windows from my hdd so there isn't two windows installed? Thanks.
Exact same process... clone it to the SSD, then simply remove the drive and replace with SSD and make sure it is set to boot in bios. As long as you have a sata to usb connector then you can do this with amy laptop

Thanks a lot mate. This has been of a great help. Fairly easily and straight forward. Cheers
This helped me out within minutes, thanks. Keep the great videos coming
THANK YOU❤ VERY SIMPLE AND EASY TUTORIAL

it works. thanks a lot. now my old laptop is now faster. feels like brand new.
Thank you, I was missing the part where you drag the partitions you want to clone onto the new drive !!!
many thanks this has worked 100% for me
Thanks man, this one actually worked and it's 100% free. You saved me a lot of time so thanks again brother
after cloning, I boot my new SSD, it show inaccessible boot devices. how to resolve this issue? (need help)
you need to reset your new SSD as the boot device.
It worked as described. And it's actually free!
Merry Christmas in Advance to anyone reading this. May you have a happy, healthy and prosperous new year
did you clone your os to ssd? does the performace makes better?
@@ceandanieldiango3601 Thank you for reaching back out to me. yes, my SSD main drive was failing. You showed me how to clone it successfully. Thank you very much for being so clear and concise
Good Day Bro,
I am not the one who made the Video, I just asked you if your Computer gets Better when you clone it to SSD.
By the way. merry xmas to you sir
@@TheBrownFamilyWorkshop did you clone it Successfully, What's the outcome?
@@ceandanieldiango3601 sorry for confusing you with the maker of this video. I cloned my failing SSD to another SSD of similar size. I make videos for You Tube so I need a fast machine. The SSD's are the fastest I can find. yes, I cloned it Successfully, it was really easy as long as I followed the instructions in this video. The cloning software was free with no Adware hidden inside, and the steps were easy to do.
Can u help me on my Dell reboot ? I follow 100% your step until restart. Then reboot it’s not working. It’s an error 0xc00000e
Very nice flow of information-thank you. My problem is I can not find my SSD connected by USB port and enclosure, but your contribution is excellent
Thank you for your work, I am cloning my disk after learning from you.
Hello po. Very nice tutorial po. Share ko lang po. I am using minipartition tool and its also free and easy to use. By the way sir thank you for your wonderful tutorials. I learned so much from your channel since the day i subcribed. Thanks and more power to your channel.

Got to clone the hard drives from my DELL Latitude E6430 and HP Pavilion a6110n to 2 Solid State Drives after I get a cloning device and the 2 solid state drives (I might get 2 more for my old DELL Inspiron 1525 and my Lenovo IdeaPad N580).
How would you clone if the SSD is 500GB and the HDD is 1TB? Cheers
You cant
I’m sure it’s the same thing. Just ensure that the used space you had in the HDD is smaller than the size of your SSD which is 500 GB. So basically, if you’re used space in HDD is 600 GB, then that’s gonna be a problem.
Just clone the windows OS itself.
you can shrink your Hdd (for example make new drive from HDD C=200gb and new D=800gb leer ) than copy only disc C =200gb to ssd
@@charoooot9644 how do you do that?
Awesome. I bought you a coffee with a muffin.
Can I have a croissant?
What would happen to the excess storage then? It only showed 237gb even thoug you have 1tb
Thanks for this man! Great help! 😊🙏🏼
If my hdd 1tb is installed inernally on my computer, then i buy and external ssd 500gb. How do i clone windows to my ssd, then remove windows from my hdd so there isn't two windows installed? Thanks.
Just search up how to format a disc
Exact same process... clone it to the SSD, then simply remove the drive and replace with SSD and make sure it is set to boot in bios.
As long as you have a sata to usb connector then you can do this with amy laptop
Check first the files you are cloning, if the file is too big for the External drive you want to put your clone it will not succeed or error will occur.
can someone help? if i clone ssd to ssd with macrium reflect it progresses only 1% per 2 hours can anyone tell me why?
old ssd= Kingston 447 GB
New ssd= 1TB
and i used other clone programes like AOMEI Backupper and the first clone it showed me the blue screen with recovery and the second time it just was stuck at 50% for 4 hours and i cancled it.
Installation process taking forever on my computer
Hi, will all the installed apps and programs run with the new boot drive, or just the OS? Or do you need to reinstall all your apps from the old drive? Thanks in advance.
Wow thanks 🙏 is drive C the copied files?
Really great video all the other videos the free software wouldn't perform the actions unless a paid version was downloaded than you so much keep up the great work.
Legendary tutorial man. Thank you so much for making this
