Few tips for real life scenario: First thing you say to the emergency services is where you are, even if your phine dies they know where send help. Even if you break ribs don't worry. People can survive much longer with broken ribs than without breathing, continue chest compressions. Your safety is priority, if it's dangerous for you you don't have to help. Dead paramedic is bad paramedic. If person is unconscious remember to check breathing every few minutes even if that person was breathing previously because they can stop. If they stopped start doing cpr. Don't be afraid to say to operator you don't know what to do, they're trained professionals and pride is less important than human life. That's essential of first aid, there's much more to it but these things above are the most important especially asking operator what to do because it applies to any kind of scenario: burning, poisonig, broken bone etc.
I forgot about 60% of traffic signs, rules and regulations since I got my driver's license but man, I still remember every single information from first aid course we had to take
@@jellev4567 In my training (1 month ago) the staying alive is not the correct one. You should do 30 compressions at 120 bpm (aka 2 per second for 15 seconds), 2x blow air, repeat. Staying alive is between 90-100 bpm, so it is technically to slow.
same here the ambulance ran me over and they said i looked like a half used tube of toothpaste with anxiety luckily they turned back time and hit my top half too
A tip from my driving instructor. If the person is awake, introduce yourself with a handshake and a hug. That way you get to feel their skin (cold/clammy/hot), their pulse, and listen to their breath. If you're in a situation where there's nothing you can do in regard to injuries, keep holding their hand. It helps more than you'll ever know, unless you're in that situation yourself.
Hey drae been watching your videos for a while and I love the content. I saw you put that kid in the recovery position. While this is a good technique and it's out of your control just wanted to give you alittle fun fact. Recovery patients are flipped on their left side for best stabilization!
As a firefighter this game is really cool and a lot of the medical stuff you have to do in it is pretty accurate. I’d love to see him play this whole game
When it comes to CPR and heart message, always just pump the chest of the victim to the rhythm of "Staying alive" from the Bee Gees (simply start with "ah ah ah ah staying alive" and you have the right rhythm already). And yes, the game had the same rythm when you did CPR on the dummies.
@@xARMM4G3D0Nx Actually, your information is wrong. It's still 100 bpm. I don't know where you got the 120 from, but please don't spread false information. The optimal is 100 bpm, achieving that is usually best with music at around 105-110 bpm as you're usually a little slower than that. 120 bpm can e accaptable, but 100 bpm is the optimum.
@@mementomori5580 nope according to the DRK (german red cross) 100 compressions is the bare minimum, any less could lead to catastrophic undersupply of the brain. Therefore faster is better than slower and you shold aim for the 120 to not get below 100 compressions.
I had a roleplay scenario like that at my motorbike safety training. There's so many things to do, including giving orders to bystanders and telling people that are just in the way to back off, that you do things in a wrong order or e.g. put the injured on the road which is not the safest place to do CPR. It was a free training and I recommend to do it if you can.
The ammount of people that think cars simply explode like in the movies is astonishing, the ammount of people that die burning alive because of that is too.
LOVE the idea of this game and would love to see you play more of it! i'm a big fan of ua-cam.com/users/SkinnyMedicabout and his motto, "You never know when you'll be the first responder." So true as you just found out, dear Drae!
I have relative that was in a serious car accident. Found out later the helpful good samaritans took the time to steal a gun and some cash out of this truck before calling 911.
CPR techniques can change which is why you need to renew your certification I think yearly? Also, one thing about this game is no mention of not moving someone who may have a neck injury or back injury as you can actually cause them more damage and possibly paralyze them. Overall, a fairly ok learning experience. Weird game though.
Chest compressions, gotta love em. Even if you do happen to break one or more ribs, it's more important to get the blood moving with the compressions. You should do like 100 beats per minute, so you could do it in time with the song Staying Alive.
The other cars have med kits and fire extinguisher so you don't have to keep running to your car,and when your doing cpr do it to the beat of staying alive
As someone with extended first aid knowledge, I feel I need to point out that I would not sit or lean in a car just to turn off the ignition if airbags were not deployed. Sometimes airbags don't deploy when the crash happens and can deploy later. And if you try to shut off the ignition of that car and airbag deploy, that can be very dangerous and lead to some nasty injuries.
@@gabrieldankers2224 If you're very careful to shake their shoulder, and ONLY their shoulder, as lightly as possible, then you can probably get away with it. Or even just tap them if you're worried about shaking them. Airbags can break ribs, noses, or even necks. They can kill somebody immediately if they hit in the wrong place.
It's not about saving the engine. You kill the ignition before helping so you don't endanger yourself - a turned on ignition or running engine can start a fire (especially in accident situations). As a helper your own safety is ALWAYS PARAMOUNT.

Adding to what dragonax said another tip that may save your life one day is, calling 112 is a universal emergency line.
I had a lot of accident the other day too, I shared it on my channel.
Drae the key to keeping the beat with CPR is the song stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees try it out please
Wow I learned this in school about compressions and now I'm getting a review :)

Funnily enough the perfect BPM for chest compressions is the same tempo as Stayin' Alive by the Beegees
This reminds me of The Office.
The name of the song makes sense then
Drae you should play more scrap mechanic(either modes are fine) i liked it so much
ive been the first responder a few times on a scene, worst was a head m.c.i on at over 100 kph everyone lived....
We need more of this
Lot's of love from India

112 should also work in the USA. It is the international number for emergencies. It should work in most countries.
many countries in europe has 112 as the emergancy call, and its easy to remember by 1+1=2 (also a way to eliminate people who failed basic math xD)
Do chest compressions to the beat of the song staying alive
That game seems super stressful, but good.
Love to see you play the full game when it comes out
keep up the content 112 is the emergency number in belgium btw
The other cars have med kits and fire extinguisher so you don't have to keep running to your car,and when your doing cpr do it to the beat of staying alive

112 is the emergency number in most of the countries in Europe
When I'm the first to arrive on an accident site, I run away so the police won't put me back in jail.

This was really cool
I think 112 is the global emergency number that works no matter where you are, as opposed to 999, which is UK specific, or 911 which is North American
From the thumbnail I thought this happened in real life
Good luck getting CPR during these times

This was great. Wish there'd been a blanket to cover the kid with (for shock not over his face)

never ever turn off the cars engine before giving aid to the ones in need... neither after that, a car is less valuable than a life
