Since I've been streaming my game jam progress, I've been seriously considering getting Hot Reload, and then your video came out and convinced me to just bite the bullet and grab it. So thanks for that and all the other recommendations. I've got a pretty full cart at the moment.
just a little disclaimer about Hot Reload: I use it all the time, and everything that is said about it in the video is true. Just be careful when you start debugging, random problem can happens and sometimes the code don't even compile (unity 2022.3.18f), so what i decided to is to simply turn hot reload off whenever am researching a bug and need to attach the editor (Rider) to debug it.
Thanks for the recommended tools but I do have a question: for some of these tools, don't you need a pretty powerful system to handle the processing of these tools in your game? I don't own a gaming machine as a game dev and I program with efficiency and low-resource utilization in mind. So, I'm a little hesitant to use tools that have all these extra libraries and classes that may make your game perform smoothly if you have a PC that has equivalent processing hardware as an XBox Series X. Would like to hear your thoughts on resource utilization and programming with PC performance in mind for allowing people without the latest computer gear to play your game(s) you write. In my system (intel i7, 32GB RAM, soldered-onto motherboard 16GB Video RAM card), I notice performance lag when I add more than 10 2D Lights on-screen. Using Bloom makes my game go from my fixed 60 fps to 4-12 fps if I add Bloom to a few game objects. I workaround these technicalities by faking Bloom and faking lights by putting them into sprites and I can still run efficiently at my desired 60 fps (190 fps without a cap on it).
Thanks really useful run through. Like many I have most of these, in fact I now have all but 2. I like the idea of the improved 2D camera, but when I read the remarks I didnt like the fact that support was tardy or non existent. Can you offer any confidence builders on that package? As its when you first get a package that you will probably need support.
thanks for the suggestions! i would love it if you would recommend me some good video about the dialog system i tried to understand the documentation but the implementation didnt work for me..
I thought it was about Kickstarter for a second ... I've been thinking about using it for a while. But I'm not sure how it works, I've got a game on development...it's a HUGE open world 2D platformer that has different genres , goes thru different era's like 80s 8 bit pixel art of manic miner to the 90s 16 bit Amiga all the way thru to modern 4k graphics. I think the average Kickstarter campaign time is 60/90 days? But my game with take another 2 years to finish. So I'm confused how this will work. Has anyone got any answers for me? Thanks!
How did I not know about hot reload!!! I've wasted so much of my life waiting for scripts to recompile. Thanks 😊
Don't be silly

I become happy whenever you guys upload, ik it'll be a good video, can you guys make a video on stuff like burnout and loss of motivation?
I like your work, thanks. Nice pick for the assets, all seems to be very usefull and high quality.
Awesome, just got hot reload and all of the hierarchy/folder tools!
Always makes me feel great about my decisions when I find I already own most of the assets you show off 😊. Keep up the good content!

hot reloading doesn't help at all it's not worth it for me
Just picked up hot reload, dialogue, and text plugins!
Nice pack. I own several of these already. Gotta grab Hot Reload though. Have you tried using a tool like Eagle to organize your music/sound files?

Regarding Hot Reload, can you turn it on or off? Is it easily uninstallable?
Yep. You can also install demo of it and try it out before buying a license.
❤❤❤
Go .
all of these are paid unfortunately :( and it sucks that Hot Reload is not a native function from Unity, that's supreme sus.
hot reloading doesn't help at all it's not worth it for me, unity has a good reason for keeping unity light
