The only way to understand just how beloved Dawkins is in Philly is to realize that when he returned to the linc for the first time since leaving the eagles, fans wore his broncos jerseys to the game. As a lifelong eagles fan, that does not usually happen.
Woooow!!!! That speaks volumes, but I'm not surprised especially after watching his highlights seeing his Hall of Fame speech and learning about him I'm a long time Cowboy fan I'm thinking about getting one of his Eagles jerseys OUT OF TOTAL AND COMPLETE RESPECT = for him being a TRUE of God as I strive to be, his intensity passion and style of play, my birthday is the 20th of April, and I'm also a big fan of Wolverine.
One of my all-time favorite Eagles players. I was at the Eagles game against the Broncos when he returned to the Linc. Eagles fans went crazy. I have a Broncos Dawkins jersey and it's my most worn jersey.
@@TNTguygaming We in Philly have never forgiven the organization for that, they have tried to make it up to him by offering him positions and whatnot but he has never accepted and we respect him even more for it, he’s tied for my favorite player of all time with Ray Lewis.

He’s the reason why I played safety and I am just so grateful to grow up and watch one of my favorite safeties game in and game out give it his all.
A player from a by gone era when the safety position could actually impact the result of the game. Dawkins, Thomas, Reed, Polamalu... we will probably never see their like again.
Imo there is no one on a defense that can impact a game as much as an hard hitting safety like Dawkins! If you want to see just how impactful a hard hitting safety can be in a game go back and watch the Seattle Seahawks vs Denver Broncos game where Kam Chancellor sent a message when Manning threw his first pass to Demaryius Thomas! Kam lit DTs world up! After that play I knew the game was over! Every WR especially DTs head was on a swivel and WRs was dropping passes left and right after that one hit! Chancellor had 10 tackles, a fumble recovery, 2 pass deflections and a interception that game and should've been without a doubt the SB MVP of that game! I’m from Britain and only been into NFL for couple years. See Brian Dawkins on life story’s and loved the way he played the game. So pissed I missed out the whole era. When players were real men.
True, check out some of the defenses of the 70s and 80s aswell. Especially steelers and vikings for 70s and cowboys for 80s. Some of the toughest mfs you can find.
I loved Brian. I was 5-6 when they won there first nfc championship. Crazy memories come to mind. Guy is what football should be hype, power, speed, and the love of the sport.
🤣😂Dawkins is so animated and intense, the music in the background, "I'm coming Cooley, I'm comin....." Non-chaulant jog and shrug from Chris, "I mean you can hit me all you want....."🤣😂
He has one of the most impressive D-plays I’ve ever seen before. He once blew up 3-Olinemen for the cowboys (like an old-school wedge buster) and made the tackle on the running back…
I’m a lifelong bears fan but B. Dawk was always one of my favorite players. The intensity, the passion, how could u not root for this dude. I don’t think any player struck more fear in their opponents (in the 21st century) as much a weapon X did.

Ed Reed is a beast! And he could never be replaced in Baltimore. With that said. Do you imagine if B.D played his entire career alongside of Rey Lewis?!?!? That would be a terrifying Defense to play against and PTSD for all Receivers!!
"dawk day afternoon" that game in 2002 when he had a TD, a fumble recovery, INT, and a sack. Texans? Yeah they were an expansion team those guys still made it thru an NFL camp to make the roster.
It’s funny that people now think NBA players could transition to the NFL. There’s no way that happens when you have killers like this on defense. And I’m saying this as a Cowboys fan, Dawkins was an animal. I respect that.
My favorite Eagle of all time. My daughter's first Jersey was his. He's the reason I wanted to play DB in middle school/high school. Weapon X the legend.
Everyone remembers the big hits and the absolute insanity that seemed to possess him when he played, but lost in all the highlights was just how disciplined Dawk was in coverage. I can probably count on one hand the number of times he made a mistake covering a receiver and allowed a big catch. One hand over a career that spanned a decade and a half.
B dawk would always be a great player but he wouldn’t have reached the heights he did without Jim Johnson and the way he ran a defense. Those safety blitzes were a thing of beauty.
