I have to admit that I basically stopped watching your channel for 6-9 months now. Used to watch your videos back when you were filming from your kitchen table :) Used to watch everything but now only checking the occasional review or top list. I love that your channel is healthy and prospering but for me I think I identified that it fuels my purchasing habits too much. I want to buy less, play more and move away from crowdfunding or minimize it as much as I can. However, your channel triggers my FOMO real bad. Overall, I can totally see how people new to the hobby find a perfect starting point with your channel though. What could draw me back is more quality over quantity as in actual deep dives into hyped games, playthroughs and discussions etc. I understand that that isn’t what your channel is about though so hoping your success to continue. You are important to this hobby and played a key part in me discovering some gems (Vindication!). PS: Over all these years I loved how consistent your Top lists have been.
I mostly stopped all the BG channels. It's not really about FOMO, just I have basically run out of space for new games so I'm not that interested in learning about new games when I have a ton of "old" good games

I would love to see/find a channel which focusses more on strategy in particular ways. "How to play" is just a rules explaination, but "How to master" a game is another story.
I started watching 4 years when I was on maternity leave with my oldest. BGC videos were my go to during 3 AM feedings. My kids know Alex’s voice from listening to videos while driving in the car. Love your thoughtful content, transparency and approach to the hobby.
I rarely comment on videos but I wanted to specifically say thank you for the honesty & transparency you bring to your videos. The fact that you are upfront about your situation and the potential biases at play is one of the reasons I started engaging with your content all those months ago, and I think it’s important to highlight how much it’s appreciated. It’s great to watch someone who feels genuine and acknowledges the importance of context in the content they create.

I’ve dialed back how much I’m watching- both to try to reclaim my time and because I’m happy with my collection and only looking to add the best of the best new games (or new games from my fav designers, Shem Philips, Emerson Matsuuchi, and David Turci)
I don’t mind the speed he talks, but when it overwhelms me I play him at 3/4 speed and then he sounds like my drunk cousin telling me about games-both speeds entertain me a lot. Keep it up, great channel.

I think I started watching regularly in early 2020. I appreciate the open, direct communication. I also enjoy the amount of information I can cram into a short timeframe. Keep up your current talking speed. I watch your videos at 1.5x and it works for me!

I watch you at 1.25 or 1.5 speed. Not just yours, but too many videos to watch and not enough time - probably should cut some videos out. To me idc if anyone gets paid and then shares their opinions on the game. I'm making my own decisions based on what game mechanisms I enjoy, the setting/theme, and the perceived longevity of the game, its replability. If those don't match up, idc if you or any other board game reviewer rates it a 5/5 or whatever, I won't get it. I understand it is important to be transparent on the topic though, so I respect you for being so open and clear about it. Funny you don't want to rate a friends game poorly, but don't have any hesitation booting it from your collection because shelf space is so precious.
