  • This is just a quick video showing you my way of taking down and re-assembling the 2017 Volquartsen Scorpion.
    I had a few issues when I first got the Pistol, so hopefully this will help someone out there. :)

    Great! Thank you!!! Volquartsen’s Manual is a beyond a joke. Funny they call it an “owners manual” when it has absolutely no info about the firearm. Only general safety info. Meanwhile you need a college degree to figure out how to take down and put back together this gun. CHEERS MATE! You saved me!!!

    Thank you for this tutorial. I've always heard that one should not dry fire a rimfire firearm. Is that not true, or is there something different about this pistol's design, that makes it acceptable to do?

    • @JB-tz9nv
      @JB-tz9nv  5 років тому +1

      Hi Trae thank you for your message, yes this is still true so I would not go dry firing any rimfire pistol for practice or fun. however this is a critical step when taking this pistol down. if you would like more clarification, i suggest you reach out to the team at Volquartsen

    • @williamrae6874

      Because this is the 2nd best gun design ever. The legend goes that Bill Ruger was a crossroads at midnight and he was approached by a man in black who offered to sell him the plans to the best gun the world has ever known in exchange for his soul. Now Bill didn't have none of that and refused, but to tempt him the man left Bill with the plans for the 2nd best gun design ever, and it's a grand gun but as everyone who has ever tried to reassemble one knows, the devil is inside these guns, that aside it still is the 2nd best gun in the world, so who wouldn't copy one that good.

      Sorry Jesu, I have just seen your comment. I hope you sorted it out. Normally when it locks. it is because the Hammer moved when you were putting it back together. You need to make sure that is stays flat in the lower during assembly. to fix it. just break it down again and start again.

    • @JB-tz9nv
      @JB-tz9nv  6 років тому +1

      Hey thanks for the message! Yep it is the 6" and I am loving it.. I have pumped well over 10,000 Rounds and it is still shooting awesome with no failures. The Volquartsen has an alloy lower so it is much lighter that both the victory and Ruger. The Trigger is so crisp and the reset is bang on to get that second shot off even easier. If you have the budget i would strongly suggest you go for it as you will not be disappointed.. but if you go down the path of either the victory or Ruger, remember you can buy Volquartsen barrels and Triggers for them both. Cheers, Justin

      J B thanks for the reply mate really appreciate it, I’ve got a sig p226 which was my first pistol, fun gun to shoot but the trigger is horrid when your trying to shoot a decent group. Not a problem at all and I have just seen your first message below!! so sorry for the late reply mate I didn't get any notification on that one.. @@dev8318 as it is under tension, you need to find a way to release that. What I did when this happened to me was pushed the mainspring back into the lower (not to much force) and then kept squeezing the trigger until it fired.

    • @JB-tz9nv
      @JB-tz9nv  4 роки тому

      @@isatellite I am not sure if I can be more specific. It was quite a while ago since this last happened to me and it was a pain. From what I remember is that I was that I was pulling the bolt back and forth while putting a little pressure on the main spring and squeezing the trigger. minor movements. be carful not to get frustrated with it as I have seen people damage the spring. It may take a while so just sit and play with those components.

    • @williamrae6874
      @williamrae6874 4 роки тому +2

      I removed the grips from mine and one of the pins slipped inside the gun. So i went to disassemble it and found the main spring was stuck. I solved it by fully removing the grips and then drifting the top two pins completely out, with the magazine removed most of the bits dropped out from the bottom of the magazine well. The main spring was no longer under tension so it just popped straight out. I then had to reassemble it from scratch. I came back to this video to put it back together. That's my fix for a stuck main spring anyway. I know it's a late reply but sharing the knowledge can't hurt.

      @@JB-tz9nv Thank you, it's been frustrating. The mere action of clicking the mainspring thing back up into the gun seems to push the hammer up into the bolt.
      It's physically impossible to keep the hammer down and it's physically impossible to close the gun back up. :(

    • @JB-tz9nv
      @JB-tz9nv  3 роки тому

      @@Amaroq64 hmmm. I have just pulled apart mine again to replicate what you are experiencing and there two ways that i found was the cause. 1)When I was trying to close the spring before I squeesed the trigger 2) The main spring was not seated all the way so when it was closing if would lift out ... Give this a go - insert the main spring make sure it is seated all the way (you can feel it click into place) > Make sure the Hummer strut is sitting in the right place (2:28). And before you even begin to close the spring, squeeze the trigger and keep squeezing > close the spring and release the trigger. If it doesn't work, try it again and see if that works

    • @Amaroq64
      @Amaroq64 3 роки тому +1

      @@JB-tz9nv I suppose I'll try again tomorrow. Maybe I'll make a video of the attempt.
      I have had the second problem, where it comes back out again. It sometimes forces itself back out no matter how hard I try to keep it held in while closing it up.
      But even when it locks completely in and I have the trigger squeezed and the little pin inside goes into the little hole that's been placed in the mainspring thing for it, it still won't close up.
      I've tried taking the upper off to see what's happening, and no matter what I do, it pushes the hammer up when I push the mainspring in. The only way to get the hammer back down is to close it back in (with the top still off), and then wedge it back down, but then it's impossible to get the upper back on, and it feels like that maneuver also gets the mainspring stuck in the gun.
      So whatever I do, it's just faulty or something and it's impossible to close up.
