I would say he is the Redeemed Zoomer or Gospel Simplicity of Anglicanism, just based on the age (same as me). Sean Luke of Anglican Aesthetics is who I think of when I think Anglican Gavin Ortlund!

Amazing video! I am a conservative-minded guy who grew up in the "coastal elite" area of the Northeast. Went to university and everything up here. As someone who has always had to reconcile the modern ideas of the culture around me with the conservative religious faith of myself and my family I found your idea of the interplay between them when speaking about the genealogy of ideologies very enlightening. My family is Christian but they were always more into the "restorationist" style of Christianity so that's what I grew up in and didn't find it intellectually satisfying at all. Trying out an Anglican church near me (I actually found it on Redeemed Zoomer's map of theologically sound mainline Protestant churches) and I actually convinced a couple of my family members to go, which is a big step as they had only been to more fundamentalist Baptist / non-denom churches most of their life. Looking forward to more content like this!
Great video!! This is a really interesting break down. Keep up the good work! Also love the Atun Shei shout out, I enjoy his civil war videos even if he is more liberal than me
The making fun of the Richard Weaver thesis ("nominalism created liberalism") is hilarious btw, though I do agree with Weaver. Good video, which I know as I found it persuasive and funny whilst being able to disagree with it.
What I do love about the CREC is that they practice weekly communion they have a high view of this sacrament, and the real presence of Christ almost all of them are Presbyterian format and practice infant baptism
I am a member of the CREC isn't a red state vs blue state thing and it didn't come from the "trad" movement. It came from the federal vision controversy. A major part of that issue was paedocommunion, a group of pastors were thrown out of the PCA because that issue...the CREC may be the home of many trad guys, but it was more of a refuge for them because during COVID they stood firm, didn't obey the state and stayed open, didn't require their parishioners to were masks etc. the focus though was faithfulness, not just the issue in the present moment, but being faithful no matter what in every moment. We fight where the fight is.
You should read some of the people in the CREC before you make assumptions about what they actually think are the dividing lines or why they placed them where they placed them...also doesn't the Anglican church embrace gay marriage and the like? Seems like the "response" of the Church of England is to embrace whatever is popular at the moment instead of actually having any sort of Christian response...i know there are faithful Anglicans but they are going against the grain of their communion so even they are splitting or have split
Dude these videos are easily your bread and butter, endless rewatch value for these bad boys.
Joe is the Gavin Ortlund of Anglicanism 🗿
Literally the highest praise I have ever recieved
@@Young_Anglican you have similar demeanor and vibe 🤣
Agreed

@@TheRoark Totally agree. He is very similar
Another great breakdown, YA/SU. Thanks for putting this one out.
42:17 immersing yourself in a tradition. Haha good one

For such a small creator, you content is great. One of the best Christian UA-camrs.
From a Roman Catholic
Thanks so much!
Solid work, as usual. 👍🏻
I think I'm in the same place as you. Seeking to be a historically rooted amillennial 'trad' Anglican.

I was attending a CREC congregation and would be willing to join one again
Great topic

How much Malcolm Collins do you watch?
I've got no idea who that is tbh
I think he's the one who coined the term "urban mono culture" but I might be wrong. He's very pronatalist
@@redknightsr69 I am borrowing it from Paul Vanderklay so it is possible that is where he got it from but idk
“People used to get hung over [infant baptism]”
Notable that it was all one side hanging the other.
It's unfortunate, but that's because baptist theology is very poisonous to bringing the kingdom.
"unfortunate"
...
Tim Keller was pretty liberal socially
What do you think about the "Holy Heretic" channel, who appears to be a "trad & based episcopalian"
From what I have seen I like him. We disagree on Reconquista obviously but I have no hate for him
There’s a certain irony with how trads use King Baldwin as their avatar… a shiny pristine surface hides a diseased and decaying substance underneath
