UPDATE: Just a friendly reminder! I don't make the trends! I'm just reporting what I see. Don't shoot the messenger! 😂
I know- and I thank you for all the homework you do to keep us posted
.I totally appreciate it.
I love knowing the rounds and I add small accent pieces that are trendy. We love your videos
Sister, you are doing a great job! I’m just not a trendy person - I’m pretty much eclectic! 💖
We love you. It’s the “trend makers” we are talking about.
Leslie you are the Queen of decor for me. I love watching your channel.
my home was dark for years and the rooms are small. We finally saved enough money and 3 years ago we installed new floors, new paint, new kitchen and bathroom. I have neutral colors and white cabinets and I love them. My husband and his friend did all the renovations and the house looks so much bigger with the white and neutral. I add in color with pillows and lamps and other decor pieces. I would not like dark ceilings and never again will I have wallpaper!
Awe.. My morning coffee just got a little sweeter with a new video from Leslie.
So glad the warm cozy feeling is coming back. I actually never left it. I just waited it out in hopes it would return. I actually feel like traditional never goes out of style and is so much more appealing than the stark square corners and black and white decor. It felt like everyone was making their home look like a waiting room.
Cozy, warm, inviting...that's what we love. We borrow from the best of all styles so we can't be pegged as any particular cookie cutter style.
I’ve always loved this style! Long before I was a Granny. Which I am now. It’s how my Mother decorated and it brings me comfort ❤
2023! Let's go! Thanks for these awesome tips.
I always had the dark furniture and I didn’t get rid of it. Glad it’s back in style!
I find myself skipping Instagram posts that feature all white decor and leaning toward homes with beautiful wallpaper, live plants, and comfy furniture in earth tones. My parents had arched doorways in my childhood home. I thought they were beautiful. This was a fun video!
I agree!!! I decorate with antiques and love wood along with dark and cozy!!! So happy this is coming back!!! I never changed and never will!!!
I love the traditional look. It feels comfy and homey. I don’t like the geometric type chairs, they look too childlike. I have two wing chairs that I’ve had for years. I use a lot of blue and white toile along with blue and white chinoiserie ginger jars. The woods are cherry and mahogany. I don’t think it ever goes out of style. Thanks for the update on the coming trends
I love the English cottage style. Our house is over 100 years old and even though that can have some drawbacks it can also have a ton of charm.
@Linda Burris Absolutely agree! My aunt and cousin just sold their 100 yr old home a few years ago and it had sooo much character.
I am so in love with the Old English Manor style. It is so classy.
I've never had a white wall in my house for as long as I've been married. I've wallpapered many a wall and love it!
Classy Irish country home here.
The traditional, timeless look for me! So interesting to hear all these trends! Love interiors 🤍😘
They also call Granny chic 'Grand Millennial' style. I have the same living room for 28 years and I'm still loving it. I wish I had richer furnishings but I don't, can't afford it and never go with trends. I like traditional, cottage style but would love English manor style. I never painted a wood piece of furniture and never will. I love dark woods. I can definitely see painting the walls with a darker color for drama.
The BEST feature of traditional, if done properly, it is TIMELESS! And art will ALWAYS be an important element - wallpaper or not!
I’ve stuck to traditional decorating for many years. My kids laugh at me, but I like to walk through my home and see pieces of furniture & decor that have history and meaning for me.
I do like the english manor / traditional style!
Love the dark moody colors ❤
I have a traditional home, always have loved antiques! 2:22
Yes to English Manner style!
That’s always been my style English country house❤️❤️❤️
I agree love my beads, plants, and baskets, and wood tones.Makes me happy.
I’m all about traditional ! Antiques! Wallpaper ! Rich woods !👍❤️NEVER white for me 😀
Love traditional style! I’ve always decorated this way- everything from my great grandmother’s quilts to treasures we gathered during 25 years in the Air Force. Plus , I will never get rid of my physical books and bookshelves.
Not a trendy persons. I may add a piece or two but have always enjoyed dark woods, heavier furniture, darker colors. I have a toile bed set and love it. Glad to see the white, impractical, sterile institutional white go out.....
But we all have to follow our heart and pocketbook to make our home ours!
I’m definitely granny chic. I love my dark wood, four poster beds, and refused to let them go. They never seem to go out of style. I have lots of living plants and suggest to check out the varieties of plant subscription boxes, if in doubt. You can find them online. It’s a great way to get started and comes with everything you need, including the soil and pots. The cost is very effective. Cratejoy was my go to, when looking for plant or succulent subscription boxes. Looks like my style is coming back!
I LOVE the English trend. I’m all about cozy!
Love English Manor/Granny Chic!!😂. It feels good to use some family pieces, older pieces, with beautiful fabrics!!
English manor - love it and have decor in my home already.
Lol my living room is going to be in style again, I'm granny chic for sure 😅
Enjoyed this video very much.
I love the English style it feels warm and snuggly. I can’t do the dark. I struggle with depression. And I would always be depressed to live in dark rooms.
Checker board is too busy for my taste.
I love that you keep us in the know. I love to decorate and you have such style so I feel like I can copy you. TFS. Blessings and happy new year🎉
Thanks Leslie 🤗
I don't do trends, although I like some of it. I just do what I love & what makes me smile.
Black & wood are 2 that will never go out of style, for me 😃
Happy new year to you, Jason & family! 🎉 Excited to see what's coming for 2023! ❤😘💜
Yea!Good news! My home is coming back in style! It’s always been grandma chic😂❤ even when I wasn’t a Grandma! Wallpaper and all🤗
Your videos are great. I am a Granny Chic fan.
I love antiques always have and tend to stick with it I love to mix whites and wood tones and layer it is just cozy
Love the moody wall colour with the check curtains!!
I am not giving up my white walls
Granny chic looks a lot like English cottage and I like them both! I also like stained glass lamps, bookcases full of books, oil painting, fresh cut flowers and the kettle on the stove 💛🌺🫖
The English manor homes were usually a compilation of years of family history collections, but it is a breath of fresh air in comparison to minimalism and gray tones running rampant. At the end of the day it's choice, what do you like. I've lived an eclectic lifestyle for years, and nearly everything I have has a story.
Thanks for sharing your info and HNY!!
I just painted my (talking room) crow black! I love it. It has a blue undertone like a crow. My house is very light and bright with a lot of windows. Paint one wall and live with it for a few days. I had to fight my husband for my color. He loves it also.
Fun video! I like it all in small amounts! We live in 800 square feet! Lol
I love the darker walls and antiques and antique reproductions. Good thing they’re coming back because my house is full of them.
Happy 2023! These ideas are good to know. Would love a video on tiny living room design. Mine is 12 x12 ish. Agh!
Anyone?
Appreciate your vibe and stay strong.
I’m at 1:42 and just saw the English Manor bedroom. I literally have had that white and black toile for nearly 30 years. I LOVE traditional style and am so excited to see this video. Happy New Year! 🎈 Okay, back to the show.
I’m obsessed with that bed set! It’s so pretty! I love that you’ve had it for 30 years!! Thanks for watching!! 💕
@@ACharmingAbode THATS
what i forget to mention, that English manor bedroom!
Absolutely my style 🥰
I actually had the toile in my living room to begin with in upholstery of my grandma’s Queen Anne low-back wing-back rocking chair plus sheer curtains. I added matching wall paper to my (semi- open concept) dining room and kitchen. A few years ago I moved it all to my bedroom. I am in the process of buying a different house and will be doing full-on Waverly toile in my whole bedroom with extreme English Manor / French Country styling. I’ve already found a ceiling fan with chandelier for my room!
Yay my traditional style is in style!
I love the English cottage style. It so warm and inviting. Hope hubby is doing ok tell him we miss him but understand. Keeping you both in my prayers
This was a fun filled video. Thank you very much
Love the fifth wall treatment!!!! Always ignored…
I love the antique look
When we moved into our home 16 years ago, one of my favorite upgrades that we had done was to have all of the doors in the house arched. ❤ One of the best compliments I received about our home, that a lot of people would take as an insult, is that my home feels cozy. Thanks for this video, I am currently brainstorming some ideas for a refresh this summer.
Granny style. Crochet dollies, baskets, cloth table cloths, end tables with what-nots.
I love dark rich wood furniture. Walnut my favorite.
THANK YOU
So much fun and inspiration! Thanks Leslie!
Very informative, thank you!
You have a great eye for design! Thanks for sharing.
I absolutely love the timeless traditional look. Those black and white checked drapes are beautiful!
Awesome to know because I love that style! ❤️
I like more traditional, chubby chic, farmhouse, eclectic style, decor. I don't like modern or contemporary, its cold in my opinion. I love warm colors and think painting one wall or wall paper one wall looks nice. I have bottom half of my living room, dining room painted a creamy white with chair rail, looks very pretty. But its what you like, that's how you decorate. Enjoyed this very much. Have a blessed day.
Love the dark wood furniture, but I will never put wallpaper back up on the walls. While it looks great, it is too time consuming to remove. I agree the granny look is much more homey. We don't follow trends, but am glad to see more traditional styles.
That's how I feel about wallpaper. I've taken down wallpaper and it's a horrible task!
Almost any time I see people put up DIY wallpaper these days, it's peel and stick. A pretty look without quite such a commitment!
I have never tried the peel and stick. Does it really not do any wall damage or require additional prep beyond peeling it off before re-painting? Anyone have any real world experience with it that would like to share? My last experience with traditional wallpaper was helping a relative peel it off of a ceiling. It looked like it had been there for many years. It was a nightmare.
@@cindys6683 I would like to know more, too. I have seen way more people put it on than take it off 😁. I have heard it referred to as being "renter friendly" which leads me to believe it is SUPPOSED to come off without residue or wall damage.
I am so happy to see some of these trends come back! Prints, toile, gingham, dark wood and homey! I’ve not cared for grey, white, stark homes and found tha I’ve had zero inters in decorating many years now. BUT, I am now super excited. I’m looking forward to your you’re videos to see how I can incorporate a few new ideas! So happy you did this video👍🏻
I personally don't care for the The English Manor style but love the stark white and grays.
Loved the video.Nice to know about the changes.
Love the trends you shared - planning to move this year across the country and can’t wait to redecorate a new home!
Love your channel ❤
Happy New Year to you both ! Wishing only good things for you both .
Yay, love dark and moody!
I like The traditional warmth. I love Color and jewel tones. Even though I appreciate the modern farmhouse or Joanna Gaines style I prefer some color
Great video, I think your spot on with the coming trends.
HALLELUJAH!!! 💞 Not a fan of white and not a fan of straight lines. Best decor news I’ve heard in years!!! 🤩🥳
Love decorating the cozy look.
Happy New Year!
Yay! My “style” is coming back in style. I’ve been Granny Chic my whole life as we’re my inspiration decorators..my Aunt and my Mom. 😊
Love the videos and now to watch it. Happy New Year!
I have the black and white toile in our guest room. We did that about 3 years ago. Love it!!!!
Thanks for sharing ♥️😌.. Happy New Year and blessings to you and your beautiful family 🤗❣️
