I think the Devon Ermes match was a fraud. You should not be able to grab that high to begin a match. You control a guys wrist doing that. After the go.. then you can use your length and regroup etc.. but the set up should be equal for a fair match. It gives the illusion that Devon was that much better or stronger when that wasn’t the case. As you saw with Levan. It’s all in the grip up. Devon even tried that same strategy with Levan in round one.. and people got the illusion that Devon leveled up. Ofcourse when Levan eliminated his grip advantage.. you saw the real difference in strength. If Ermes fought for a fair setup then I guarantee yould see a way more fair and competitive match… it would possibly be the toughest match Devon would ever face.

If you say your opponent is going to be a tough challenge and he beats you well then it was because it was a really tough challenge like you said. However if you talk your opponent down and lose then you just lost to somebody you were saying wasn't any good and was going to be no challenge, and if you win then who cares because as you said he was a pushover anyway.
