What a big time we had with the MISSISSIPPI SQUIRRELMEN hunting black squirrels. Once a year we join together with multiple families and enjoy what squirrel dogs do!
I hunted with a ref fiest named Pretty Girl on my buddies dads farm. She would follow me into a hickory nut patch and we would go to town. She could walk up steep fallen trees sniffing for them. And she could find them. I would circle around the tree and pop it. She would get a couple chomps in too.
@@KyleTurnerHunter She was never trained. She just knew what to do. I am going out this weekend to hunt them with an airgun and also use remington subsonic in my bolt gun. When its like these harsh cold conditions, I prechill rimfire rife and rounds and then zero. I just rezero airgun in the cold. Thanks for the video.
THIS BROUGHT BACK SOME WONDERFUL MEMORIES; UNCLE JOE, MY DADDY, ME, OLE COOTER, AND MY DAD'S .22LR MARLIN SEMI-AUTO RIFLE (IRON SIGHTS, NO SCOPE, I WAS THE SHOOTER {LOL!!!}) - AND OF COURSE, BIG OLE RED SQUIRRELS - - - THE SQUIRREL AND DUMPLINS WEREN'T BAD EITHER (AUNT WILLIE AND MAMA COOKED EM) - - - THIS WAS A *GREAT VIDEO* - THANKS SO MUCH FOR BRINGING BACK THOSE MEMORIES AND FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO - BRAVO TO YOU ALL!!!!!!!
My Bella said she would like to the see and hear more of the dogs treeing! She kept running to the window looking for her nemesis. Nothing better than kids and squirrel dogs... Great video...
Here in Michigan, black squirrels are the single most common type in many areas, slightly outnumbering the grey color type(here, they are a morph of grey squirrel). Both are much more common then fox squirrels outside off cities(in cities, it's all 3 about the same numbers). Interestingly also, our grey squirrels appear to be larger than southern ones, being about the same size as fox squirrels).
Crazy to see so many black squirrels. My papaw hunted south east ky his whole life into his 70's and only ever found 2 black and 2 albino. Had them all mounted on hardwood stumps sitting above the fire place.
Yessir. I had never seen one before that hunt. We went to that area because we heard about a solid population of them there. Your papaw sounds like a heck of a squirrel hunter 🤙🏻
@@KyleTurnerHunter he was man. He passed before I got into it, I'd give anything to know everything he did. sadly I don't and there's not much on UA-cam or online at all, I appreciate you sharing it with the world you've got a viewer for life from me brother
In the part of Ontario I live in we have mostly black squirrels a few grays I've never seen a live Fox squirrel. I hunt with Black mouth curs. Greatest dogs I've ever owned
I am 66 years old and about 20 years ago I killed a solid black squirrel. It's back and stomach both as black as a crow. That's the first one and the last one out of ever seen. I shot him at the top of an acre tree eating acorns
That must be regional, they are extremely common in Michigan, likely the most common type. Deer hunting the other day, I had 7 or 8 at one time in front of me and most were black!
I love hunting but seeing kids run with guns and multiple people shooting rifles at one squirrel with that size group I do not like...... safety first when we go we split into groups of two or three and grid off sections of woods to hunt with a plan and onx....... with a little effort those kids could hunt safer
Why are you hunting squirrels? That is animal cruelty, these animals are created by God and deserve to be loved like you love yourself. Its written love your neighbor as you love yourself, you wouldnt want someone to hunt you and eat you would you?
Miranda we are hunting these squirrels because it's in our DNA to be hunters. God being our creator needed a way to feed us so he made vegetables, fruit and animals for us to sustainably harvest. Along with eating squirrels, the hunt also creates life long memories with friends, family and other sportsmen. Each state's Department of Wildlife sets the season dates and daily take limits for squirrel to insure the population does not reach a level that would be dangerous for the squirrels. Too many squirrels can create a disease or famine that very well could wipe regional squirrel populations off the map. As far as me being hunted, I've been hunted by anti hunters since I started this channel. I've had people threaten to kill me and other people in the videos. I've had people hope that the hunters in my videos get into terrible accidents. It's very sad to me that I must and am forced to except every lifestyle that I don't agree with but know one has to respect and except my lifestyle. Even tho my lifestyle has been in practice since the beginning of modern man.
Loved that white feist look like gallacreek bloodline.

That’s crazy. It’s estimated that 1 in 10,000 grey squirrels are black. Most people will never see even one.
Thank you for the info. 👍

I don't think I've ever seen anyone shoot a squirrel 6 or 8 times. Seems like they need more range time
