How come UA-cam never recommended this channel 😱This is what I need recovering from my broken vertebrea and getting some motivation to race some XC coming season. Subscribed ofc!
great stuff as always! as i was watching i was thinking, damn, macky's gear is always in tip top shape - never anything loose or janky...and then at 9:47 his stages computer comes loose!
Really looking forward to this coverage. Nobody else that I know of does this in depth pre-race, then race & post race coverage & analysis. Also, your new kit looks great.
I was not ready for the all-out sprint that was day#1 and it was pretty loose on the descent by the time I rode it around 12. It’s nice to see you guys breathing really hard on this stage!! Nice meeting you at the race and keep up the great UA-cam work!
Love your videos!! I watched your BC Bike race 4 years ago and watch each week ever since!! I wish BC Bike Race had a days summary video like the tour de France every day!!!
Look at the K-Edge mounts for your computer. They have stem and bar mounts. I use the 31.8 bar mount for camera, lights and computer. Keep up the great work.
Macky...I love watching u catch people. 💪😎Stay savage. U both make me want to race more and Sid's rehab journey has helped me. Keep the pedal party stoking!
I've been watching your videos for a few years now. The quality is getting so good. Something I discovered a few months ago (why I didn't figure this out a few years ago, I don't know) that your fans will love. If you're watching on a PC, click on the settings icon on the bottom of the video (looks like a gear) and changed the default quality from 480 to at least 720 or better. It blew me away at how great it looks! I had to go back and watch some of your older videos. It's incredible!
Amazing video production and POV. Funny comment from me - I'm watching this with my 5 years old son. He asked why Macky doesn't have hair. He believes Macky lost his hair in a crash. 😅 By the way, he loved the video too 😊
Just watched all your bc stage races, well done great viewing I’m in uk and now really want to ride bc trails , just wondering why you guys don’t run fork remote lockout looks like you run rear lockout . I had to subscribe to your channel as I found the content and quality of footage amazing and very informative, a bit jealous of your lifestyle though 😄keep up the good work 👍
Great riding both of you. It's a long race & there's no prizes for prologue. The HotDog the Dinosaur & you didn't see the FunnyDressedCowBell lady with them...
Think you guys should come and ride the Quebec Singletrack Experience. I could say hi to you at the start line and then about an hour or two after your finish. Lol. Great riding and scenery is awesome
Not a bad first day for the both of you. As you get more acclimated to the heat and trails there you will find your groove. Just because you've raced there before doesn't mean that you're used to the trails. You've been racing other terrain which I'm sure is different. It won't take long to be completely dialed in to the terrain tho. Just keep a good, positive attitude and you'll be blistering fast for the rest of the race. I'm looking forward to the next video. Go get em!! 👊👍
I'm a 37yo male in pretty good shape that's been riding unsanctioned trails since I was 8. This was the first time I can humbly say, Syd, you would have kicked my ass on this one. I love it. You two have some serious skill.
Sydney probably got that guy at the end of the video in trouble.. wife looks outside Bill's outside spraying Sydney down 😂🤣 Bill wtf are you doing out there?! 🤣😂
Did you get to preside the course, or do you have to ride them blind? Looks like a beast in that heat. Great video, looking forward to the rest of the race.
The only time we ever consider locking out our forks is on paved climbs and since we rarely see those in races we decided to go with the FIT4 damper instead of remote lockout since we so rarely lock them out.
Really enjoy your posts. I do find it funny that the GPS bands failed because SUN. Does the manufacturer know that bikes are often used OUTSIDE? Or did you mistakenly get an indoor only unit? Looking forward to the next stage.
They're just rubber o-rings and it was from sitting outside in direct sunlight for a couple days. They seem to do okay with normal riding exposure, just not sitting in the sun all day.
Can't wait for Day 2? Watch it early on Patreon: www.patreon.com/posts/86807304
Awesome. I like the fact you guys don't over dub music over your racing videos and leave it raw. Looking forward to the next one😎
Yes!

Probably your best video Syd. Just throw your GPS device in one of your pockets
I think I really started watching all your content the first time you guys did BC. Hyped to watch again!
For some reason hot dog boy at 11:30 instantly brought to mind Scout from _”To Kill a Mockingbird”_ in her ham costume. 😂
Killer intro. Can’t wait for the next one.

The cape epic is a ferry good challenge for you two
The whole family has been waiting for you guys to start posting this. Woohoo. Thank you. ❤❤❤
I first started watching you guys when you did those 2019 videos so its cool to see you guys do it again. Dont think I've missed a video since 🖖
You deserve so much more subscriber. 😅😊
Excellent video!! You guys are so good at content creation. I feel like I'm riding right along with you in my desk chair! Thanks a bunch.
return of the jedi ewok foliage!
that footage was filmed on Vancouver Island! Sorry if you already knew that.
Awesome 😎

You both are awesome. Love the videos. Especially when you guys do the syd fixes bikes 👍.
This looks amazing. Well done. Can’t wait to see the next one.
BC bike race never gets boring. I want to see this race every year

AWESOMNESS !
That was fun to watch and the preview for next week was great!
Brilliant video. You guys really *do* hit the sweet spot with your content!

7:21 Cracking up at the kids dancing in costumes 😂
Tough race, but way to bring the noise!

awesome job !! great new intro !!
Started with Syd fixes bikes and now I’m here. Love the content. Happy racing!
Great video! When it comes to quality biking POV videos you two are the best! Keep up the great work.
Honestly I’m surprised you all haven’t surpassed 100k subs by now love your content
So many fun adventures
Come to Scotland for the Strathpuffer !
Thanks guys. These are motivational when grinding on the exercycle.
I was in Canada when you were there! My first time riding Whistler🎉
You guys rock! You got this! (Edit: Also wanted to say I'm still playing Send It! so thanks for making that happen too!)
Great to see you guys out on the island! I’ve been looking forward to watching your footage of the BC Bike race. Can’t wait for Cumberland!
that is some serious stuff for 100mm travel bike. lucky you are young and fit and can take the beating. :)
Really looking forward to this series. BC is such a great area.
Thought I was subscribed, but your reminder made me look...duh... I wasn't, but now I am. Keep up the good work you two!
Awesome epik video

We'd love to have you!
cool to see you shredding my local trails, i'm going to enjoy this series! I rode tzouhalem the day the prologue was on and yes it was cookin hot.
You guys are awesome thank you!!
Great riding both of you. It's a long race & there's no prizes for prologue. The HotDog the Dinosaur & you didn't see the FunnyDressedCowBell lady with them...
tough start. Really great job, you two!!
"Yes, that's a dinosaur & a hot dog cheering me on." 🤣
Sick video editing and storytelling
Good luck. Looking forward to the videos
BRILLIANT THANK YOU.
Good start!

Woop Woop...Lets Go!!! 🚴🚴♂
I have to force myself not to look up the race results. Looking forward to the next videos!
Your stuff is great I’ve subscribed to your channel keep doing what your doing 😊
Great videos! I have also struggled with GoPro. Consider DJI offerings. Hint
They will be present in the competition in Costa Rica, Los Conquistadores
great stuff
Since you guys are on a journey to race the best. You guys should come try the Cape Epic in South Africa if you have not yet done so.
0:33 vibes

I like meet you guys . In Jacksonville beach Florida
Hey guys, just curious about stem length and spacers on the xc race rigs?
that intro to the video was really well done, do you guys still use gopro's if so which one and max lens mod? thanks
We use the GoPro 11 and 11 mini: www.pjtra.com/t/SENLS0lORkhDSElJSk9GQ0hHTktISA
Sydney probably got that guy at the end of the video in trouble.. wife looks outside Bill's outside spraying Sydney down 😂🤣 Bill wtf are you doing out there?! 🤣😂
Vittoria inserts: Are you using the standard version MTB or the XC Light version? Just curious…awesome video as usual.
The light version
Did you get to preside the course, or do you have to ride them blind? Looks like a beast in that heat. Great video, looking forward to the rest of the race.
You were allowed to, but we only got to the island a couple days ahead so only got to see a couple of the trails from the Cumberland days.
So train in the heat. Feasable ?
Whats the tool with the split link on the bars behind your number plate? If its a tubeless repair kit thats a great idea!
Yup, that's the Muul mount. Holds a tubeless plug and quick look. Link in the buffet description plus discount if you're interested.
Realized the link isn't in the description 🤦♂️
bit.ly/MUULmounts (use code "sydandmacky" for 15% off)
Why not have remote lockouts for the forks?
The only time we ever consider locking out our forks is on paved climbs and since we rarely see those in races we decided to go with the FIT4 damper instead of remote lockout since we so rarely lock them out.
Im trying to see fork travel but it’s either too quick for video or you have pretty closed to locked out? I was wondering if you forgot to unlock?
Gonna be hot and it's gonna hurt.
Zip ties for the win... ;)
So fun seeing my local trails! Sad that Canada is becoming hot enough to destroy equipment and make racing hard for people from New Mexico...
what is the computer on you bars? how is it mounted?
That's the Stages Dash L200. There's a link (plus discount code) in the description if you're interested.
Going to race Breck Epic this year? I'm an on course volunteer. Let me know if you'll be in town for the week.
No BE this year, but possibly next!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
👍👍
Is Carter at this race
Assuming you mean Carter Nieuwesteeg who I raced against at Singletrack 6 last year and Moab Rocks earlier this year, then yes, he is.
Syd: BC Bike Race, probably the most well-known mountain bike stage race.
Cape Epic: Excuse me?
Ha ha you guys are _from_ the desert 🐪 but yeah 32⁰ is pretty gross
I've successfully used hair ties in place of the computer mount bands
ha great minds think alike
So much for worrying about muddy trails.
Lol at butt dialing while racing.
Wish they would integrate GPS screen into the top tube of XC bikes. And then allow you to input your program of choice into it.
That would be pretty cool. But might be hard to look at while you're racing.
Do these races get drug tested?
Nope. They aren't UCI or USA Cycling sanctioned so there isn't doping control.
@@sydandmacky Gotcha, thanks for the reply
Asking for a friend. Lol 😂
