Do we know if this is bad for the batteries? Had a new strobe sit for 2 months after a few test fires, BC i didn't have time to practice with it. Took out today to charge and had to do this. I shoot mostly natural light, so this item will definitely sit more than it gets used. I heard bad things about these batteries pre purchase, but ignored as my other godox items have been great. Definitely getting the ac adapter as a backup.
@@uhoh7541 honestly speaking it's just a little reset button which has been in put in place as a safety mechanism to ensure that the battery doesn't die to an abyssmally low level of no return.Thu happen even to iphones where you're asked to do a button press combination which essentially does the same thing.Never had this battery fail on me.You can even ensure that this doesn't happen by using the flash once in two months and charging and draining our the battery fully. Its just a reset mechanism.
Thank you so much for this video!!! I have a rare shoot tomorrow and haven't used my ad600pro in a couple years. Had this problem, and thank God you shared this. My sincere gratitude and thanks!! (I'll drop a sub too for help!)
Thanks much Sir. In fact this video was done on a similar day.Luckily I knew this hack and thought it would be ideal to make a video on this so it would help fellow photographers and I am so happy it did. We all grow as a community! Thanks and feel free to share it so more from our community benefit from it. Else it's really shocking when you have to get out and shoot and this happens on the morning if the shoot. :)
I have a brand new battery that has only been used four or five times. Then it was put into a drawer for nearly two years. It is behaving like yours, but the reset did nothing for it. For a moment there, I had high hopes.
This is the only solution i have tried so far. havent really been able to find any other one. One thing you could do is try and clean the contacts and also see if the charger is correctly connected at the cable end. Sometimes it gets loose and doesnt respond.
@@whatsonmytable One of the holes seems to be soldered closed. Has Godox gotten wise to this hack? My lights are only a year old! I'm super bummed. I have two AD600 pros and both batteries died on on me this weekend.
@heathergrammaticas1138 oh that's really sad.would you be able to share a video here or over email at imailarvind@gmail.com I can check and get back to you at the earliest.
Does this require a certain type of metal to short? I tried with a paper clip and a stripped bread tie, and neither worked on either of my dead 600Pro batteries. :( Thank you for the video though!
Hello Sir, the best would be to use a shot copper wire which is probably the best conductor. Also see if the golden contacts need some cleaning. You can just use a dry tissue to clean the two golden dots which we short. Thus might clean up any copper build up.This usually shouldn't be there but still a good practice to clean it. Hold it for a bit and then release it andnit should reset.please let me know how it went.Thanks.
The battery pack itself is charging, but the actual battery for the godox (the one attached to AD600) is not flashing. Does that mean it's still being charged?
Very good question actually..I guess this is something they need to look into top.Ive always had the same question because you will be wondering if it's charging but that the truth. The battery will not show any indication that it is charging.its only the charger which has the light blinking from bottom upwards to show how full the battery is. However you can always check how much ita charged by pressing the button on the battery. This is clearly an example of what a bad UI can do .
I don't understand. I tried the solution in the video here and it didn't work, but I found your link in the comments. I followed the link and it's the exact same video.
Thanks man you are a genius
I don't have this exact battery, BUT this was the fix i needed. Much thanks!!!!
This just may have saved me $700 US dollars. All my ad600 pro batteries have in after a 2 months renovation in my studio.
Am glad it helped @moisel6303

You would need to use a trickle charger and slightly charge the batteries
