    I am in Precalculus and we're talking about this stuff!!! AH! Math in college is more difficult than the same level in high school tho. Don't really know why that is... ANYWAY SAL IM GLAD YOU HAVE ALL THIS FANCY NEW EQUIPTMENT I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE DOING WHAT YOU DO!!! THANKKKK YOOOOUUU!!!! I always *try* to watch your videos before we cover those topics in my math class, and it helps make my life easier!!!!!

    Every teacher I have ever had taught math wrong. Thanks you very much for finally teaching things to me the proper way, so that I can actually solve problems.
    On a side note, why does every single math teacher I have ever met or learned from teach false math? Why do they not show us how to do the actual work, why do they ensure we will fail?

    NO. This is a very good example of Polar coordinates. I just love it.... It's not Cal III. Cal 3 somehow is kinda easy. this is Cal 2. You gonna do it if you are in engineering or CIS....You need to avoid calculator if you want the answer in xPi over y where y can be any constant except 0. Good luck hahaaha....

    Visually, we know a tangent represents the slope of the line on a unity circle. For a tangent of 45 degrees with a positive slope of 1 in the 1st quadrant, the inverse tangent has a negative slope of minus 1 and is the same as its reflection in the 4th quadrant below it, also known as the arctangent. The continuation of the positive slope in the 3rd quadrant would be the cotangent.

    EXTREMELY important. I'm more curious as to why you don't know x and y axis in Precalc, that should have been taught over and over since algebra 1. Much of calc bc is the relationship between x and y (im in ap calc bc atm).

    @goat1221 Haha. Okay. I did not go to high school in US so I don't know. As I said earlier, I never took Precalculus or trig or anything like that. They put me in cal after my placement test. Education is different everywhere. In my country, we covered a little bit of everything ( trig, CAL1, 2, 3, Differential Equation). That gives me a very strong base in math. Sorry, I'm not a poor guy. I'm a happy one. I'm in the top 3 in my university so yeah...

    Shouldn't it be (theta, r), rather than (r, theta)?
    I mean, First you tell someone which direction (angle) to point in, and then you tell them how far to go... :\
    And you'd say "For angle theta, the radius r equals some value based on theta."
    Why confuse people?
    Theta is essentially, to some degree, the equivalent of x from Cartesian coordinates. Which is to say, based on the input (x / theta), the equation yields (y / r), respectively...
    Yes?

  • @janepianotutorials
    @janepianotutorials 11 років тому

    Dear Mr. Khan, the reason I stopped by is because someone asked me to make tutorials on Polar Coordinates. You must know that the polar point (5, 53.13°) is only close to the Cartesian point (3, 4). Those two points are NOT EQUAL. Rover would have never reached Mars. I have restrained from writing for a long time. Math cannot be sloppy. Do not mean to offend. But students must learn properly.
    P.S., your sine double angle proof would turn off anyone going into math.
