@DosCavazos No idea if you guys will see this (especially since I can’t even do actual tags for some reason), but in addition to revisiting that old X-Men game Anthony remembered, you’ve gotta check out a couple of old PS2/GameCube/Xbox/PC X-Men games sometime: X-Men Legends and X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse. Especially the second one-holy shit. (I, uh, haven’t actually played the first one myself yet, though I picked it up a handful of years ago.😅 I love the second one so much I haven’t even tried the first, though apparently it’s also excellent.) Amazingly fun game, and it features a ton of lore and background imfo. I recognized a lot of things here that I learned about from that game, in fact. Bonus points for being something you can play through together cooperatively. (And further bonus points for a lot of attention to detail with special character interactions at certain points, depending on what characters are in your four-character party-many of which are either really meaningful or utterly hysterical. This game was also my personal introduction to a character who has since become enormously famous, though I don’t want to spoil who it is.) Hope you can find the time at some point. I have a feeling you’d both enjoy the experience. (Otherwise I wouldn’t bother suggesting it.)
@@marine9840Also, Apocalypse’s real name, En Sabah Nur, is supposed to mean “the first one”. (Whether or not it actually translates that way in real life, I have no idea. Not that I’d put it past modern Disney-owned Marvel to screw with something like that in favor of some contrived plot device.
Roughly 80% of Cable's powers are devoted to holding back the techno-organic virus so I can only assume that Mister Sinister is holding to back to let him fight.
Not sure if yall saw it but yall missed an end credit scene! Check the final ep right after they do the basic credits when they show each character and their powers.
X-Men fans have never been spoiled this much outside of comics in history! Whether it’s the deadly tag team of Nightcrawler and Wolverine, the Summers Family fighting a horde of Prime Sentinels, Bastion’s on screen debut as one of the the biggest and most formidable villains in Marvel history, Magneto proving again why he’s one of the most OP characters in comics history, and the infamous scene of Magneto ripping out Wolverine’s adamantium that is just as horrifying in the comics. And the fact it was done in the sequel series for one of the most kid friendly shows ever made!
The fight scenes with Nightcrawler and Wolverine with the teleportation was great, Rogue letting lose was great, Cyclops going full blast in the base was great, heck seeing the whole Summers family fight together was great. This show is a great blueprint for how team dynamics and individual power uses should be done in the film versions.
"They're like AI Zombies" Great metaphor for when someone weaponzies a group of people against another group... No logic or reason, just a mindless horde following orders.
Yup. That really nasty phenomenon that leads down the path to ruin each and every damn time, claiming countless entire civilizations all throughout human history. Currently plaguing our own society in the form of reckless, self-righteous idealism and partisan tribal warfare. Blargh. What a world. WHY can’t people just think for themselves? Why the constant need to be led, to be under others? I can’t understand it for the life of me.
Love the symbolism of Rogue wearing Gambit’s coat and then leaving it with Charles when she sided with Magneto just reinforcing what Gambit believed about life being “what bits of us we leave behind, and what we carry into the future”. I hope they explore more of her dark side in season 2.
Quick and dirty apocalypse lore: he was born in ancient Egypt but was obviously a mutant and was left to die. A group of savage warriors raised him to believe in survival of the fittest. A time traveler from the future used future technology to conquer ancient Egypt and was known as Rama Tut aka Kang the Conqueror. Knowing of Apocalypse from the future Kang tried to control the young mutant but it just made Apocalypse more powerful and more angry. After Rama Tut was defeated Apocalypse lived for centuries finding mutants, slaughtering the weak and making the survivors stronger some of them becoming his Four Horsemen over the centuries. Cable from a future ruined by Apocalypse goes back in time to try to stop him accidentally infecting him with a techno organic virus. But since Apocalypse’s power was control over his own cells he controlled the virus to make him stronger. Now that he was technically a cyborg he was able to access a technologically advanced ship left behind by the Celestials (the ones from Eternals and such) and he learned about the nature of the universe. He would sleep in suspended animation for centuries and wake up to find more mutants, start some wars and forward the advancement of the strong. On one such awakening in the Victorian era he met a doctor who told him about mutation, that doctor would become Mr Sinister. In the modern era Apocalypse fought the original 5 X-men who were calling themselves x-factor and they beat him and took his ship to be used as their new base. Scott had an infant son named Nathan in his care and Apocalypse had the ship infect the baby with the same techno-organic virus he had received thus closing the loop. A time traveler from the future offered to take baby Nathan to the future where they could help fight off the techno organic virus and raise him. In this future Apocalypse had taken over the world and the freedom fighters fought Apocalypse and taught Nathan how to fight and he began calling himself Cable. Cable then began time traveling in order to defeat Apocalypse in energy era.
Apocalypse is over 5,000 years old and is the 2nd oldest mutant, Selene is the oldest being 17,000 years ago. The world that Cable grew up in was ruled by Apocalypse. Mother Askani is his half-sister Rachel Summers, the daughter of Scott Summers & Jean Grey from the future
No, there were thousands if not millions of mutants before Apocalypse. It was shown in the storyline from the Celestials that they created Humans and Deviants. Then another Celestial who died on Earth his blood altered their potential even further allowing for Mutates and Mutants to exist. The Avengers of 1,000,000 BC had various storylines involving the first humans, first deviants, and first mutants. Apocalypse learned he was a mutant from Nathaniel Essex (Mr.Sinister) himself. So it would be more accurate that he was the first to ever call himself a mutant in the year 1899.

Apocalypse is the canonical first ever mutant, at some point he comes in contact with Celestial technology, the giant robot looking thing we saw in GOTG 1 kill a planet as well as the Eternals movie, he used that to enhance his own abilities gets time travel tech and is similar to Mr sinister in that he can absorb mutant powers 😮
I'm gonna correct you on Wolverine: Wolverine was always a fan favorite, but he was never the leader or main character. The whole reason they turned Wolverine into essentially the leader in the movies is bc he was already so popular
I have watched like, 20 reactors do this show and Kacee is the ONLY one who saw that Scott was crying when using his optic blasts after saying goodbye to Cable.
Magneto has always spoken truth but I think as time has gone on since his first inception, more of the younger generations would likely side with his ideology over Charles’.
Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver's mother was Magda who Magneto met in the Concentration camps of the Holocaust. She was Romani but when they had their first child and they died after the villagers burned their house down with their child in it because Magneto was starting to exhibit his mutant powers she ran not knowing she was pregnant. She later had her children and it was some time before Magneto found out about them. His other child that was on that boat as well was Polaris and that was a different mother later on
"Storm is gonna wreck shop." Storm: *Goes through an entire huge arc to regain her powers and overcome her personal demons* Also Storm: *Gets shot in the back by a sentinel almost immediately* ... These writers must have watched Castlevania Nocturne.
For future reference, anyone who descends from Jean Grey is gonna have both Telekinesis and Telepathy. Nate Summers, Rahcel Summers, and X-Man all possess these powers and more.
I honestly cannot put into words how phenomenal this finale and, frankly, this entire show have been. As a long-time X-Men fan and fan of the original series, even though I wasn't born when the show was around, HOLY S*** , THIS SERIES IS EXCEPTIONAL (pun intended). No joke, this series is so masterfully well written, with absolutely phenomenal animation and truly compelling characters and complex, deep, dark themes that genuinely make you question the inherent societal bigotry and how to process internal thoughts of fighting for equality and how to do so in a way to help society grow from the status quo of discrimination and to do more than allow yourself to become numb to a neverending struggle that you feel like isn't your responsibility. Truthfully, this series is some of the *BEST MARVEL MEDIA WE'VE EVER SEEN SINCE ENDGAME* (except No Way Home, GOTG3 and Loki)! Compared to how outstanding this series was, the Fox X-Men movies look like amateur student films with such a bare-bones understanding of how truly incredible and insane the X-Men stories can be when you truly hire people who care about these amazing characters. After watching this show and its epic finale, Bastion became one of my favourite X-Men/Marvel villains. Theo James especially gave a superb performance as Bastion; now, whenever I read a comic featuring Bastion, I'll hear his voice. Not only he but the entire voice cast, especially Cyclops, Magneto, Storm, Jean, Charles, Gambit, Rogue, Jubilee, Wolverine, Morph, and Nightcrawler, all did a tremendous job. Bro; the number of cameos in this series is INSANE! Cyclops and Jean saying goodbye to Cable/Nathan had me in tears🥺. Reactors really have literally 20 years of examples of end credit scenes when it comes to marvel and still dont play a video all the way through...smh what's the harm in letting credits roll while you're talking just in case of some scenes afterwards..
Wanda and Pietro's relationship to Magneto was explored in season 4 or 5 of the original show. Polaris appeared as a member of X-Factor in the episode of the original show that featured Iceman.
magneto had a family after WW2. It took multiple utter horrors to forge magneto (& yet another in this very season to flip him back after he was healing via Charles efforts/plans).
"The thing with Wolverine is if even you pull the adamantium out of him he can still heal so it's not necessarily a death sentence." At the time this particular storyline happened in the comics Wolverine's healing factor hadn't become so absurd to the point that he was near immortal. He nearly died from what Magneto did to him.
Our Lord Apocalypse, was the "first" mutant. The absolute first. You seem to have missed the after credits scene ;) Apocalypse, is eternal. Is 3000 bc, is 3960 ad, is the present (which was missed), as well. Our good Lord raises us in his name. Woe to all that do not see Him.
Too much ground to cover. For you two and some questions you had. There was an after/mid credit scene showing Apocalypse in Present day Genosha. I don't know if you got to catch that. You mentioned a lack of Apocalypse knowhow. Mostly this series revolves around TAS but integrates popular comics. I'm a geek on this stuff so that present day scene is a nod to a comic called Blood Of Apocalypse. The past in Egypt to a story called Rise Of Apocalypse and the future to one called The Adventures Of Cyclops And Phoenix (excellent book this one is). In case you want a point of reference. Personal notes for these episodes. Too much to like in quality overall but what sticks out is characterization, character arcs and arc blending here. The good writing, dialogue and voice acting helps it of course. But these characters are very true to form. Just an example we do not often see is Charles using his powers to heal a problem and going through the step process. Usually he is using it for communication, combat or information gathering. So on to the rest. Bastion to me was a lackluster character in the comics and I think having a talented actor do his voice helped add some much needed depth to it. Likewise being in motion helps him actually look cool where the original Operation Zero Tolerance story just made him flat. Here they made him feel very fleshed out or of course metaphorically in his case but that was a very nice touch. The claw pop. That's a huge wink. You'd said in an earlier video you weren't sure if the OG series was like this. It was at least in that the themes were there but that show was under heavy scrutiny from censors. Their biggest issue was Wolverine's claws. Death of course which was Morph in the premiere, later resurrected by Sinister and referenced here. In the show he did not gore anyone with the claws and didn't here until that end point. I didn't think about it because him not using them was so natural for TAS. Very cool how they paced that and popped it, no pun intended, on us in all it's glory. The biggest thing young ones watching that show wished for paid off here. Last in reference to the original cartoon I was over the moon that they finally showed us when in time Forge and Bishop started working together. For the need to know a long running theme was Bishop was always working with an older Forge in the future but the how they met was left dangling. I am very pleased they tied that one up and paid service to the original series plot. Two others that happened over the series where the whereabouts of Xavier which we was left in the final of the series and Jean's clone. I think they are hinting this switch happened at the end of The Dark Phoenix Sage in which Jean "died" but mysteriously was back about an episode later and then things just went on from there. Regardless that attention to dangling plotlines from the show is something I dig. And this has me thinking about Immortus aka Kang who played a big role in the series. Else everything is fantastic imo. The only downside is I could go for ten more episodes right now easily. Easter Egg in this video: Kacee's head appears on Nightcrawler's body at 30:36
magneto ripped all the adamantium out of him... hes still alive but his healing factor burned out when it happened, wolverine turns more feral when this happens.... just like in the comics
I had issues with Bastion's motivation until I realized he doesn't give a shit about humanity. Like the sentinels before him they care about their programming, and as mastermold said "mutants are humans"
Nightcrawler is pitch perfect in this series. The man (mutant) of God that looks like a Demon. His face always in shadow, his teleporting, his swordplay. Arguably the best representation of a true Christian on television today
And unlike the original series which kind of made the faith feel like his whole identity, they showed his playful side here; he’s no less a man of faith or God, he’s just got more than that going on… A lot of his interpretations including the films don’t hit that balance for Kurt.
It's been reported that the success of X-MEN 97' has caused a ripple effect through the MCU. Therefore causing them to change the way they're doing projects going forward.🤔
I think the MCU needs to say later, hey, there's another universe out there calling themselves the 616. Perhaps, we should consider changing our designation. :-)
Apovalyao is possibly the first mutant. The idea in the comics is that prior to the 20th century they where very rare. (Apocalypse and wolverine are two of the most famous examples of mutants born before the 20th cwntury. The comics give the idea that modern technology sparked the increasing numbers of mutants to be born in the 20th centruy. The X-men are sometimes called the Children of the Atom and the technology developer on the 20th century relies relies on various forms of radiation 'atomic bombs, nuclear power plants tv, radio, x-ray machines, Car Scans, 3rd all five off radiation
They did a great job making that wolverine and nightcrawler fight feel so epic cuz of the last episode showing how strong one of the prime sentinels are
The ones you saw & don't know - Silver Samurai & I believe you saw Omega Red. I'm gonna give you guys some slack for missing the post credit scene because I did so too... Yep, the 90's animated series version of Spider-Man/Peter Parker. There a rumors that they're gonna continue Spider-Man TAS as well - a Spider-Man '98 show 😉🙂 Which would be fitting considering the show ended in a cliffhanger. Apocalypse is like one of the first mutants to exist.
Yes Wolverine can heal, but he has only healed from small things, never this drastic. Not to spoil anything but this may due a number on his healing factor. and if you have read the comics no spoilers, you know what the road ahead lies for for Logan. If you know, you know. I hope they go in that direction. I just wish they would have done it in an R rated movie.
Not only is Apocalypse from ancient times, he ties directly into the Pharoahe Rama-Tut version of Kang the Conqueror. Which is intergral to how Apocalypse begins to get his armor.

exactly this is why he seeks help. Also why they needed to do this story line in a movie, because of the end credit scene.
"I am as far beyond mutants, as they are beyond you" - Apocalypse
Y'all missed the mid-credits scene?
That episode is like the Dr Seuss book with the Sneetches with the star on their belly.
Silver samurai, enemy from Japan , a version of him is in “The Wolverine “ 9:30
9:00 That was Silver Samurai. He's one of Wolverine's villains! 👏
Our Lord Apocalypse, was the "first" mutant. The absolute first. You seem to have missed the after credits scene ;)
Apocalypse, is eternal. Is 3000 bc, is 3960 ad, is the present (which was missed), as well.
Our good Lord raises us in his name. Woe to all that do not see Him.
Selene does predate Lord Apocalypse but Selene has yet to be featured in this show.
Recently they retconned nightcrawlers parents, mystique is actually his dad (she transformed into azazel) and the mom is destiny.
32:14 yes the earliest mutant appeared on earth 12000 years ago
Actually we have had Mutants since 1,000,000BC.
Easter Egg in this video: Kacee's head appears on Nightcrawler's body at 30:36
So many Superhero cameos especially Black Panther. I love it. My question is: what happened to Wolverine? That's what worries me 😟.
magneto ripped all the adamantium out of him... hes still alive but his healing factor burned out when it happened, wolverine turns more feral when this happens.... just like in the comics
And unlike the original series which kind of made the faith feel like his whole identity, they showed his playful side here; he’s no less a man of faith or God, he’s just got more than that going on… A lot of his interpretations including the films don’t hit that balance for Kurt.
the best marvel show I've seen since WandaVision Loki and Moon Knight
It's been reported that the success of X-MEN 97' has caused a ripple effect through the MCU. Therefore causing them to change the way they're doing projects going forward.🤔
Ya guys miss the post credit scene. Hahaha, the crucial one that sets the pace for Season 2.😂
Мне понравилось как вы в последнем эпизоде так спокойно отреагировали на пряаления разных персонажей
Hey bro, I just have to say that your laugh is awesome!
Number one rule with any Marvel content:
Stay for ALL Post credits scenes! 😅
By now, I'm sure this was pointed out to you, but there was a post-credits scene that hints at something coming.
fun fact cable is voiced by gambit's original voice actor.
For the record, trying to drown Jean Grey never ends well and can possibly destroy the universe.
This is my favourite show of 2024 10/10 I can’t wait for season 2
They did a great job making that wolverine and nightcrawler fight feel so epic cuz of the last episode showing how strong one of the prime sentinels are
3:14 The best villain of all time!!!!! My man Doctor Doom!!!!! 👏
What i don't get is no one mentions mother Askani is Rachel scott n jeans daughter n she inherited the Phoenix......
You guys missed the after credits
Mystique is actually Nightcrawler's father
Thus begins the Onslaught series.
18:50 These cameos were great! 👏
You missed the end credit scene.
I agree with you on the magneto thing but I'm pretty sure he killed a lot more people by shutting down the sentinels lol
Yes Wolverine can heal, but he has only healed from small things, never this drastic. Not to spoil anything but this may due a number on his healing factor. and if you have read the comics no spoilers, you know what the road ahead lies for for Logan. If you know, you know. I hope they go in that direction. I just wish they would have done it in an R rated movie.
where did you get that gengar shirt?
Bastion knows he's a hypocrite. He acknowledges it in his line "Humanity would rather die than have kids like us." Not "like you". "Like us".
12:04 Now this, puts a smile on my face 😌
Not only is Apocalypse from ancient times, he ties directly into the Pharoahe Rama-Tut version of Kang the Conqueror. Which is intergral to how Apocalypse begins to get his armor.
*Anything happens in general*
The dude: *proceeds to laugh*
2 - Things.
1 - you skipped the Mid Credit scene in episode 10.
