In the quietude of Jharkhand’s Dumka district, a horrifying incident unfolded as a 45-year-old Brazilian national was allegedly gang-raped late on a Friday night. The unfortunate episode took place in the Kurumahat area under Hansdiha police station.
The victim, accompanied by her husband, was on a bike when a group of 8-10 people intercepted them, dragging her to a secluded place where the crime occurred. This chilling event turns an ordinary night ride into a harrowing tale of brutality.
Dumka SP Pitamber Singh Kherwar reported that upon seeking help around 10:30pm-11pm, the victim, bearing bruise injuries, stopped a police van on patrol. Subsequently, she was taken to the hospital, disclosing that she had been raped. The police have detained three individuals, and further investigations are underway.
The SP mentioned the ongoing medical examination of the victim and the detention of three persons for questioning. The authorities are committed to unraveling the details of the incident and ensuring swift justice for the survivor.
