School can't be "this" way because teachers often are not professionals, or people who get paid for illustrations, they get paid for teaching, and there is a massive difference there. Best way to learn is by someone who actually does what you are trying to do. Atelliers, patrons, gumroads, and on-on-one teaching is a way to get there.
