Enjoyed that - brought back good memories of planning for my fam. I loved planning and winning reservations for Cinderella castle for my 4 girls. Getting up. Rack of dawn etc.
Honestly the planning is just as much fun as the trip for me! Like you said, scoring those special reservations for the trip is so exciting!

Love this video idea! I was rooting for you to get that Topolino's reservation! Our 60-day window is coming up too, and I'm going for a hard-to-get "magical extra," so I'm glad I watched this to get prepped!
I was SHOCKED that we were able to get it with our larger party size, it's the reservation I am most looking forward to now! And wishing you all the luck getting your magical extras, you got this!!

This is so helpful. Because we usually have 2-3 years between trips. So it’s good to refresh my memory of the process. We actually don’t have too many reservations to worry about, as we have the quick service offer. But I will try and prioritise space 220 lounge and beaches and cream. All the best from Scotland👍🏴
We almost did Space 220 this trip, but Madison decided on Teppan Edo for her birthday dinner instead. It’s definitely high on our list to try though! Most of our party is doing the Disney Dining Plan, which is why we have a lot of table service restaurant reservations.
@@TheMackenzieBorgI love a table restaurant at once a day to get out the heat etc. so many options.

I just got back from my trip & I’m already trying to figure out when I can go again 😅

@@TheMackenzieBorgwe didn’t have any issues (flew with Delta) it was just kind of a hassle to carry them. on the plane we just stored them in the overhead bin & put our carry on bags in front of them so they would stay put!
dining reservation day is always like the hunger games at the a** crack of dawn 😂

Another useful video.
Two additional items I would suggest.
The first one, which sounds obvious, is making sure everyone going on the trip has input into the dining decisions. Even if you're 1000 percent sure what places they like, physically asking everyone what their first and second choices are makes everyone feel included in the planning process.
Secondly, some non Disney owned restaurants, especially at Disney springs, have reservations available at OpenTable.
On our last trip we got a House of Blues reservation on OpenTable when none were available through Disney.
These are amazing tips! We always have everyone in the group read over the menu to make sure there is a few things they would be interested in trying so someone doesn’t wind up at a restaurant with limited options for them. For this trip, since there are 7 of us going and 7 reservations we each got to pick a place we were most excited about trying or going back to!
And yes the OpenTable booking for Disney Springs restaurants has come in handy so many times. We used it to get our Boathouse reservation one trip!

Thank you ! this was so helpful 🙋🏻♀️ my husbands family is coming in December from Brazil and we are going to Disney it will be 9 of us. I have never planned a Disney trip for that size so I’m a little nervous but super excited. 🥳
This was my first time booking for more than 4 people too. Honestly, did not experience much of a difference other than less times available for restaurants that can't accommodate many large parties (like 50's Prime Time). Biggest tip I can give for planning overall is to ask around what is on everyone's "must do" list to try to incorporate something in for everyone!
Also 60 days out from our trip!! Can’t wait for all the Christmas magic🎄✨

I am 35 days out today! So excited. I am also a spreadsheet planner, and use the same colors for the same parks :)

this was honestly so helpful! My friend and I are planning a trip for Christmas 2026 to Disneyland and it’ll be our first trip without parents or anyone to help us so I’ve been trying to plan it with her and it’s been a little rough😭. So this is so helpful!

I’m part of smart mom plans Disney group on Facebook and they have always said on there that enchanted extras open up at midnight and Disney at 6am.
YAY we will be there that same time! And I knew that something was up with the extras booking times when the cast members were even giving me conflicting times😂 But hey now we know! Thank you for sharing!
