Very nice review Mr Nolan. I own a NPAP and had to bend my cleaning rod to keep it from walking out and I also had to bend my safety to make it easier to take on and off safe.
I just bought this exact same rifle. Thanks for the tips on what to pay special attention to. I love my other Century AK and have no doubts about this model. Again great informative video. I liked and subscribed
Mine came with raw, untreated wood. I did stain it to black, then sprayed with wood clear coat. Then it became to shiny and slippery :-) Then I used fine sandpaper to make it a little bit dull and less slippery. But I also ended up cutting and putting a skate board tape over lower piece of foregrip . I am happy now
The problem with the new PAP series of rifles is they are specifically made for the civilian market, you're not getting a mil-spec firearm...this is where the WASR-10 shines...it may not look as nice but they are built to military spec... Also, using an overbuilt tool to adjust the front site windage is likely what broke the front sight, that and the rifle being made specifically made for the civilian market...I have a WASR-10 and I used a $5 tool made in china to move the drum on the front sight drum and the drum was "stuck", I put some break free around each side of the drum, waited 20 mins and then used two dimes on the side that contacts the drum then I slowly turned the handle using a cheap pair of pliers until it broke free... I don't know what its going to take for CAI to fix the front sight on that under-folder but I suspect they'll have to replace the entire front sight post, if its not sighted in and you use the same tool to move the drums you're likely gonna break it again...
Ask some of our troops if they wish they could ditch some of their "mil-spec" gear given to them by our military. Most will tell you just because its mil-spec doesn't make it the best. It usually means it has good value to the government that has to buy thousands of items. N PAP's will run just as long as a WASR.
I own a WASR 10/63 and the Yugo underfolder and use the same front sight tool for both. Both are built with the same thickness of receiver, the Yugo has the button you have to push on the back to take the dust cover off. The Romanian has a chrome lined barrel which is irrelevant if you are not shooting corrosive ammo. Whereas the Yugo has a thicker barrel. The only advantage I see between the two is that the WASR will be easier to outfit with aftermarket parts. As far as the NPAP not being milspec, you have no proof to back up that claim what so ever. They are both fine rifles that go bang every time. Keep in mind that CAI imports both of them.
I own one of these had the same problem with cleaning tube and the sights but my sights got that fixed but it’s a nice rifle definitely would change a lot around on it but it’s a lot of fun to shoot
@ Lock N' Load Lifestyle I have an M85 NP .223/5.56 "pistol", with an arm brace, really like it. In this folding stock configuration, can it be shouldered without running into legal problems, as opposed to an "arm brace" not legally being able to be shouldered ... depending on how you see recent rulings on this? Thanks!
Century Arms doesn't "make" the Yugo or Romanian rifles. All they do is import them, mill out the receiver to accept double stack mags, and make the 922r.
no, we dont drink vodka, we drink rakija. cheers btw, who uses sights on ak at first place? point and shoot, one will hit the target :)))) now seriously, what is wrong with sights? my was just fine, 3-4cm group down left 2cm from bullseye on my first shooting with gun about 10 yrs old and molested by dozens of soldiers before me...
Zo Mi the front sight drum being loose like that is unacceptable whether civy. or mil. In a country were ever grown male owns a AR there should be no reason to further disadvantage a AK owner with a defective sight system. Yugos have a good reputation through out the world, but when you sell to a country that has chooses Q.C. can not be stressed enough. Rifles with crooked rear sight blocks and windage drums that come loose in the first >500 rounds is not a good way to make friends
this is the first time i see this kind of issue with sight on serbian gun. can you imagine hundreds of thousands of soldiers on compulsory army service how much they care about older gun? its dropped, hit around, dragged, thrown, everything as is done by reviewers on youtube and much more and still run with no issues. on the end, any product can/will have some defects. but if repeats often, then its a problem. if this is isolated case, or one in 10k produced pieces then its not worthy mentioning it. now honestly, did you ever type in youtube search "ar 15 problems and defects"? surprise! after two videos i saw something that never happened with serbian ak or any of producers outside of usa that i know, busted bolt! your importer, in this case century arms, what is their condition to purchase from factory? as i see they order most basic model there exist and even downgraded receiver in order to keep price tag as low as possible. how they assemble those guns? how much of assembly is done by zastava its self? what happen in armory and storage of your importer since they do some assembly and rework in order to comply with import laws? now, are you ready to part with $1000 for serbian gun? trust me, factory has tons of upgrades to satisfy anyone, but your importer wont purchase those. they hope you will purchase upgrades from them not from the factory. furniture, tapco mags, century trigger group, receiver messed with in order to accept high cap mags but still kept bolt for single stack low capacity magazine, assembly from bucket parts all that add on final product what is not 100% zastava made. sorry, excuses are not good and any defect what show up is not good for business and trust in product, but you have to take in consideration all factors if you wanna blame factory. i know one thing, all military surplus what ended on usa market are 100% produced in my country and as final product with metal high capacity mags (those what hold bolt in open position after last bullet is shot) shipped to usa and you have no issues with them. i wish that zastava was not forced to make any changes to its guns at first place in order to get permit to export to usa and you as buyer to receive product 100% made in serbia.
I really like the way it underfolds. Other than that, I'm torn. Let's be honest here. The ar platform is far superior. the 7.62 round is an awesome round through.
so i'm debating on getting the M70 or the NPAP under folder, they both are Serbian made from Zastava but not sure what would be better to buy, i know that the M70 has the thicker receiver and grenade sights is that basically the only difference?
wulf arrow last year they could be found for around $650 but I just bought this exact same model rifle and paid $750 out the door transfer fee and tax. Great rifle s. I own 2 other Century AK47s and love em. Just clean have a ball at the range no problems
@@jeambeam3173 Wrong! Serbia was a kingdom and existed way before Yugoslavia became a country! Zastava was founded in Serbia, and it was simply a part of the Ex-Yugoslavia before Serbia turned once again independent. Do some research, buddy!
It’s not American made, the receiver and barrel along with the main rifle spring and bolt are all Yugoslavian made. With just the hand guards and pistol grip, with a few other parts are American made to be 922R compliant. All these parts can be changed out to Yugo or Russian parts easily.
Since i got this AK my AR has been collecting DUST
Very nice review Mr Nolan. I own a NPAP and had to bend my cleaning rod to keep it from walking out and I also had to bend my safety to make it easier to take on and off safe.
+Tim Saechao Thanks Tim....... I think we'll have to do that on this one as well.
Yeah, at 1:32 your almost walked out :-)
Tim Saechao isn't it the US wood that causes this problem?
Thank you for doing this honest review I almost picked up 1 of these yesterday at the gun show I will be saving for a Arsenal at this point.
+MikeTango6 Thanks Mike....... You definitely can't go wrong with an Arsenal

I like underfolders! I would leave the wood, but stain it darker. The Hogue AK grips are GREAT!
+454pakr Yea I think a darker stain on this would look awesome!

Know this is 3 years old but the birdcage is actually one of the best for just flash. Like you can’t beat it honestly for that.

It is different. your gun did not come from the factory with a stock, his did.
larry1754 it's not illegal to shoulder an arm brace
better tight than too loose!
Great review. I like the way you zoom in on those closeups Great vid Thanks
+douglas walther Thanks Douglas!
I have one but the stock was assembled upside down, now that it on the gun it angels up. Where can I get another stock?
thank you General Kalishnikov

Why can't they mount the damn sights correctly?

My cleaning rod has threads on it do that one probably does also. I spun it in and it doesn’t walk out while shooting
How did you loose the safety switch on it? Mine is very tight
I like this rifle!
I do too. But I like the keltec plr 16. I'm a whore for lost causes, lol.
+Jarhead6 It a sweet Rifle for sure!
Jarhead6 same this will be my first gun ever
Everybody like this rifle
Great Review Nolan! Carry On Sir!
+Big Johnson Guns & Gear Thanks BJ!
Did you ever get your front sight fixed???
Would it be possible to install a side rail and sight mount on it?
Looks like the cleaning rod will not stay in.
Does Magpul make hand guards for this? I want to add rails and wasn't sure what to get.
UTG!
I really like the way it underfolds. Other than that, I'm torn. Let's be honest here. The ar platform is far superior. the 7.62 round is an awesome round through.
+Matthew Fant Yea the underfolder is definitely handy!
I tried quad rails on my underfolder. It's not worth it for what it is.
I have 3 PAP's. And 1 yugo build m70ab2. I love them. My favorite of the PAP series is the m92 and the o pap.
+Sly Tiger I need to give the m92 a try. I've heard really good things about them!
Does it have a brush or cleaning kit that comes with the rifle???
Bico Fire no
Damn it does the one with a wooden buttstock come with one maybe ?
I have a zastava M70A milled reviver chrome barrel.🥰 She sleep next to me and my wife
Ahh the perfect threesome...hope your women tolerate the wife :D
How do you fix that front sight?
Notice the cleaning rod walking out while firing
Will Romanian style hand gaurds fit this ak?
No.
To be honest, I've had front sites of which require loctite or the like too many times be it handgun or long...QC anyone...?
Zastava the best AK,zastava m21new ak,zastava m17

MrFreddy61 the M70 is the way to go. They don't seem to have the annoying little problems the NPaps have
MrFreddy61 are you really gonna be shooting grenades? I have this rifle and love mine, and have no use for the grenade sight.
GunGlutton such as?
Michael Hardy Sr Ye but it looks awesome as fuck
saving them checks this is a hard one to get my baby street gravity
Where can I find the folding stock ? I have a m70 but I want to change the standard stock

This guy lost me when I saw the Magpul mag.
These are Serbian Kalashnikovs not Yugos.
you're an idiot
MattyLight30 both ar technically correct the where originally Yugoslavia but since Yugoslavia no longer exists its serbian
Same Factory dude!
The M70's go back to the Yugoslav Wars of the 1990's. That's why they're referred to as "Yugo"
Rzr2ffe m70 goes back to 1970. This guy is just a dumb serbian ultranationalist. Ignore him.
There was no serbia back then it was yogoslavia now its know as serbian but they dont got the manufacturing to do these rifles anymore💯
Actually the Zastava company was started back before Yugoslavia was ever a thing and it was just Serbia
