      If you meant "awful" then I think your spelling is awful
      If you really did mean "awefull" then I will have to break this down as the word is not in the dictionary. The word "Awe" means to witness something that invokes a positive emotion in you, "full" means at its limit . So I've decided you love this video so much it's filled you with awe 😍
      If your comment now says "awful" and not "awefull" it's because you came back and edited it 👍

      Dave Howard…what a shit comment 😂 What a sad life you must lead. Don’t you have anything better to do but leave completely unnecessary comments on someone’s hard work?
      I’m struggling to see what you find “truly “aweful” (can’t even spell🙄) about this amaze video?
      YOU are truly awful…And no doubt talentless. Be a better human 👍🏼

    I've watched and listened to you perform which is fantastic. but what you do is answer everyone's questions. You're the first one I know of to be so kind and answer all questions, and then give detailed instruction on how to help. I just bought this pedal today and not had the time to try it as of this writing. But, I had to let you know how great you are helping us. All of us, not just a few. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO...

      Hey. Thank you for your kind words. I know what you mean, I think it would be extremely rude not to reply to anyone who has taken the time to watch my videos and leave a comment. I hope you get to grips with the RC-30 in good time, when i first got mine it took me a little while to get good on it. Learning how to get the first loop right is probably the hardest bit, once you have mastered that everything else is much easier. If you get any videos up on you tube send me a link, i'm always interested to see how other people use the pedal. Thanks again.

      Hi, Thanks for the comment. It was a while ago when I recorded this but I will try to remember how I set it up. I used a zoom H2n mic to record both vocal and guitar. The Mic was plugged straight into the loop pedal. The pedal output was plugged into the little amp, the headphone socket of the amp was split 2 ways using a boosteroo. One signal into my headphones and one into a laptop to record the performance, the laptop was hidden behind the curtain.
      I most likely added a little reverb and some noise reduction to the recording afterwards. This set-up is cheap, easy and good for recording but this Mic would be terrible for playing to an audience as it is highly likely to feedback if the amp is to loud. A proper vocal mic would be much better for a live situation.
      Believe it or not the guitar, Mic and amp used are extremely cheap. The guitar is a Yamaha C40 and is one of the cheapest guitars you can buy and the Zoom H2n is about £120 (Or maybe even cheaper now) and the amp is so cheap that I don't even think it is branded, probably cost just a few pounds.
      Again thanks for watching and commenting, always appreciated.

    wanted to check if there is a way to get the mic output from the rc-30 to go to a PA instead of running it through the guitar amp which makes it sound really bad. am also using the boss ve-20 before the loop pedal. would appreciate your advice.

    It'd really like another loop pedal after missing my lowly RC-2. But I think loop performances are incredibly boring after a few minutes without the benefit of a second, third or even fourth movement. I couldn't sit through an entire night of loops, much less every freakin' Tuesday night. Looks like I need to save up for a used RC-50 or 300....

  • @ReelfunkyProductions
    @ReelfunkyProductions  11 років тому +3

    Hi. I'm very glad you enjoy them. OK the most basic set-up is a Loop pedal, Piano and some headphones or an amp and that's all you need to get started. If you want to sing as well then obviously a mic will be be needed, if this is the case you will want to choose a loop pedal that has at least two inputs but I think most of them do. You will also need a bunch of wires to connect everything together but you will most likely already own these wires.
    Will you be using a real piano or electric?

  • @TylersReelFishing

    I see from 0:37 to 1:01, you add several layers on track 2, but never press the left pedal to separate the 4 measure recordings. It seems as if you just play the 4 measures of each added riff, then it just adds it and you can keep going adding very efficiently. I can't seem to do that on mine. Is there a setting for that? Sorry for the long question but here is an example: Ed Sheeran in almost all of his songs where he loops live, does it very fast, and doesn't wait after he loops a section, he just goes right onto adding the next section the very next measure. I want to be able to do that like you and Ed do. Can you explain? Thanks!

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  7 років тому

      Hi, I can only assume you have your settings different. There is two fundamental modes, basic and advanced. I always use advanced mode so first thing i think you should do is put your pedal into advanced mode to get the most out of it. There is also several choices when it comes to how the pedal records / overdubs etc, i am guessing you have it in a mode where it automatically stops recording when it re-hits the first beat, the mode I have it in lets me record/overdub infinitley until i press the pedal to stop it recording. Sadly I have lost my instructions otherwise i would have a look and figure out how to put it i the correct mode.

    • @TylersReelFishing
      @TylersReelFishing 7 років тому

      That's exactly what I figured! I haven't picked up my pedal in a while, but am planning on becoming more proficient with it here this summer. I will do some more research to find out about the the mode you have yours in, and if you figure out anything, comment back on here! Thanks Funky

    • @Gonzll

      hey bud...to loop overdubs without having to mash the pedal every time your measure rolls around, you need to set your pedal to REC/PLAY/DUB. It comes preset REC/DUB/PLAY. to do this, unplug your instrument from the L/mono jack and the unit powers OFF..Once it is off, Press and hold the TAP/TEMPO button while plugging the instrument back in. The unit will power up and in the display, it will read "RD" (record/dub) press the up arrow once till it reads "RP" (record/Play) and press the tempo button again to lock it in. keep in mind your 1st REC dictates how many measures you will have for the entire track. have fun man...i just got this 2 days ago and love it!

I hope you get to grips with the pedal, it takes a bit of getting use to but once you have cracked that first seamless loop and learnt what the pedals do your away. • @GabiGhita
      @GabiGhita 5 років тому +2

      I think he's not though. The guitar seems to be an acoustic guitar which is not plugged into anything. So really, there's just one input: the mic, which captures both guitar and vocals. It then goes into the pedal via the pink cable, and the entire sound is output from the pedal into the guitar amp via the blue cable.

      Yeah the switching channels with the pedal is useful , only down side is if you need to change quickly. No green screen in this video, the middle section is real footage the outer sections were cut out in post and the curtain pole and circular floor we added in later too.

    Thanks so much for his amazing video!
    I have a question- I want to similarity record a drum beat but using my guitar and keep that throughout the song.
    Then I want to on the second pedal record a lick.
    This lick will be used at various parts of the song. However at the moment every time I pause it so the drums continue the lick still plays it’s just with the volume off.
    Do you know how to pause your loop lick whilst the beat continues and every time you want the second loop to play it begins at the start?
    Thanks also much! 🖤

    Hey there, Your video was great. I have been searching for some info as I just got this pedal.
    I'm having trouble erasing loops that have already been recorded to one of the tracks. I can stop the entire track and I can overdub overtop but I can't seem to undo loops that are set or just stop one loop in the track without stoping both tracks and then using the clear function.
    Thanks!

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  10 років тому

      Hi.
      I use the pedal in normal mode. To undo something you are not happy with you keep your foot down on the left pedal for two seconds and it will erase your last overdub. (on the track that is currently selected)
      Now if you are wanting to erase an entire track (all overdubs) while it is playing then unfortunately that is not possible, and man I so wish it was as that would open a world of possibilities. You can only undo your last overdub.
      So if you are wanting to delete a full track while playing the bad news is, you cant.
      This is one of the biggest let downs on this pedal.
      Thanks for watching and the commenting.

    Hi! Great video. I wondering about the outputs and whether it's possible for the mic and the guitar to come out of separate outputs. I mostly play an electric guitar, so I want the guitar to come out of my electric fender amp, and my vocals to go straight to the PA as opposed to going through the amp as well. Is this possible, or do they come out of the same output?

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  10 років тому +1

      HI, With the RC-30 you can split the output. On the back of the looper is two inputs and two outputs. They are labelled left and right, so you can have anything on the left channel go to your Amp and anything on the right channel go to your PA. Its actually a really easy set up. I think any Looper that is described as a 'Stereo Looper' will have the same feature. Thanks for watching and Commenting.

    is it possible to stop the first channel in a moment and play only the second one ? for example my track has an A and a B part which are not really the same, and i would like to switch between them without having them together at the same time..

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  8 років тому

      No that is not possible unfortunately. I too wish this was an option but it is one of the downsides to the RC-30. You can stop one channel and leave the second channel playing or vise versa. As much as I love this loop pedal there are some Major functions missing that would be really useful. I also have an RC-300 which does everything i need it to but the downside is its a much bigger machine, isn't battery operated and costs a lot more.

    How did you connect your microphone to your speaker AND loop pedal? I'm trying to figure it out, but I can't seem to...

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  9 років тому

      ***** Microphone went into the loop pedal. the loop pedal went into the speaker and also a laptop behind the curtain for recroding. So the mic only went into the loop pedal in this scenario, if you want a more complex set up you will need a mixer.

    nice job first . But when I plug my shure sm58 into my RC 30 I don't have enough signal even with the mic volume turned up to be of any use, what do you think is wrong ? Also the volume on the factory preset channels is so loud I almost blow my speakers turning to it if I don't remember to turn it down . Do you know whats going on there ? The volume slider is barely on but on my tracks the slider is in the middle . Thanks

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  10 років тому

      Hmm Interesting. My first guess would be that you are using the proper mic input of the RC-30 and it may need the phantom power switching on, the phantom power switch is to the right of the socket. Also, the presets channels could be controlled by the output knob and the sliders may not effect prerecorded pieces. I am unsure as I only ever play live, I do not save my work on the RC-30 for future playback. I hope this helps, let me know how get on. Thanks

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  7 років тому +5

      I can't remember the exact setup for this video, however i believe the Mic went straight into the loop pedal. The loop pedal then went into the little amp which was only there for my headphones to plug into, there was no audio coming out from the speaker , the pedal also went into a laptop which was behind the curtain to record the performance.

  • @ReelfunkyProductions
    @ReelfunkyProductions  11 років тому +1

    Hi Like instumentfreak said it will record over and over again without ending until the pedal is pressed again to make it stop recording. This is very useful if you need the loop to overlap the next one, especially when playing heavy guitar chords as it would have a horrible cutoff if the pedal just stopped recording at the end of the loop, quite often you need it to spill over a little to make it a seamless loop.

  • @AnimeTube7Junior

    Hey again Reelfunkyproductions. I actually want to make loops on youtube like you and you tend to produce nice quality ones. I have an audio interface, a guitar amp, boss rc-30, condenser microphone, guitar, and cords for connections.
    I was wondering about your process on how you make your videos. Do you record your loops on your boss rc-30 and save them to certain memory slots? Then connect usb cable to computer and rc-30 to import into an audio workstation?
    Or do you connect your boss rc-30 to your computer and amp at the same time as you record live into the computer as you sing?
    Or if neither, what do you do to catch these recordings? And do you mix them? If you can be specific too that'd be helpful!.. I find your videos really cool and want to make stuff like these you do!!
    If you can answer my questions, I'd really appreciate it my man. It'd be nice to upload videos with my looper with the quality you make! Let me know if you need any clarification on anything I have said!

    • @AnimeTube7Junior
      @AnimeTube7Junior 10 років тому

      Also, I'm sure the amp you have and mic play a necessity on the quality of the sound you import into your computer as a .wav file?

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  10 років тому +1

      Hi, I have a few ways to do this but the easiest method is this. I plug my instruments into the pedal (Mic, Guitar etc). I plug the output of the pedal into an amp. I then take a line from the amp to the headphones and another line from the amp into a laptop for recording. After recording I put a bit of reverb and some noise reduction on the audio and then its pretty much ready.
      The quality of the amp makes no difference here, all it is doing is boosting the signal, the amps speaker is not used.
      Making the video is tough sometimes, I nearly always have to do many takes before I get one that I think is good enough to post to You Tube, but its all good practice.

    So amazing. Playing around with mine with my guitar. However going to get a microphone soon to sing with my acoustic. Coz can't plug it in what type of microphone do I need to pick up me and the guitar? And why the headphones, where they plug in?

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  10 років тому

      The reason for the headphones is because of the type of Mic I am using, It's a condensor mic and if I did not use headphones the audio would go back into the Mic and create feedback. If you want to perform without headphones through a speaker system then you will need a vocal Mic like an SM58 or similar.to prevent the feedback, you will not be able to record both vocal and guitar using a Vocal Mic though as you have to be really close to it.
      The best set up is a vocal mic and a guitar with pickups so you can plug them into the loop pedal independently.
      I hope this makes sense, thanks for watching and commenting

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  7 років тому +2

      Hi, sorry this is very late. To get the sound good takes a bit of messing about both before and after filming. Before hand you need to get the mic or mics set up right which is usual. But you also have to learn to play with different velocities so you do not overkill the performance, this is quite important as you can not sort the levels while you play.
      Once it is in the laptop i then go about cleaning the audio up with noise cleaners, eq's etc as straight out of the laptop it doesn't sound as good as i would like

      Hi sorry for the late reply. Good to hear you bought the RC-30, hopefully you have got to grips with making loops by now. The video was made using a sony vegas, I basically used the cropping tool to cut out the outer edges and leave a black background and then used the pan/zoom tool to zoom in and out. Although its quite a simple video it did take me some time to put together. The audio was recorded as simple as possible. I used one mic to record the guitar and vocals, the output of the looper went into some headphones and also into a laptop hidden behind the curtain which was recording the performance. Also if your interested the 3d logo at the beginning was made in cinema 4D and overlayed in sony vegas.

      There is no limit to the amount of times you can overdub to a track, its infinite. You can not take out the first dub of a track, you can only take out the last change by using the undo feature. However as there is two tracks to record to you can take out a full track and bring it back in later. So you can have track 1 & 2 playing then when needed take one of them out and start it again later.

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  4 роки тому

      Hi, If I remember rightly, the Mic picked up everything, the zoom Mic does a good job of that you just have to hope the dog doesn't start barking in the other room. The output of the loop pedal went into a sound card behind the curtain and my headphones were plugged into that. At least that's how I remember it , was quite a while ago now. The amp was just there I don't think it was doing anything.

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  10 років тому

      Yeah you should be able to record the shakers etc with the vocal mic as long as they are played close to the mic and the tapping of the guitar will be picked up by the guitars pickups so that setup should be ideal for performing live. I think the most important thing when choosing a mic is to get one that can keep out background noise to avoid the feedback which would ruin a looping performance.

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  9 років тому

      Hi. I use normal mode every time, i have not really played much with the other settings. I think you must have your pedal in auto mode which is set to automatically loop after a certain amount of bars. You would be best to ditch any of the modes that are designed to help as they just create more problems, stick to normal mode, it might initially be a little harder to use but will give you the most out the pedal in the long run.

    Could you please explain me difference between mono and stereo looper and how to use loop pedal more effectively if I use clean channel and dirty channel both at the same time, sth about preamp?

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  10 років тому

      Hi sorry for not getting back to you sooner. A mono loop pedal will usually only have one instrument that can be plugged into it and will only output a mono signal, so same amount of audio will come from both left and right speaker. A stereo looper like the RC-30 and many others will have more than one insert and can record and play back in stereo. The RC-30 actually puts all one instrument to the left channel and all the other instrument to the right, which can be interesting but its terrible for live performace in a big room as people listening may only hear half of the performance if they are far away from the other speaker. Personally I dont like using the looper in stereo, its hard enough to use as it is without having to consider how the stereo will work out. In regards to the Clean and Dirty Channel I have to be honest you, I do not know what this means, i do not use a preamp, I just amp all the signal from the loop pedal itself. If I want to use more than one instrument I use a mixer before the loop pedal so I can balance the instruments and mics properly. I hope this helps.

    Hey man, Great video!!! Hope you're still checking out the comments here because I hope you can help me answer a question!
    Say I record a 4 bar beat on track 1... Now if I switch to track 2, anything more than 4 bars will automatically start playing back(I guess it is matched up to the length of track 1)... Is there is a setting that can be changed on the looper so that I can record a simple 4 bar beat and have more freedom on track 2 to record longer without it repeating?
    Thanks!!

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  5 років тому

      Hi Mike. On the RC-30 i am sure that is not possible and thinking back I am sure that was one of the reasons I moved onto the RC-300. If I remember correctly track one and two are locked to the same amount of beats. The only freedom would be play the first track twice as long as needed giving you more room on track two for more variation. If you ever fancy upgrading the RC-300 gives you that freedom, i usually set track 1 to 4 beats , track 2 to 8 and track three to 16, makes life so much easier, and having that third track gets you out of the problematic verse chrous bridge issues.

    Excellent rendition! I basically have the same audio setup and want to share some of my looped covers and originals on here as well. What video equipment/program do you use and how easy/difficult is it to sync with the audio from the Zoom? Thanks, and cheers.

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  10 років тому

      I use sony vegas for the edit and getting it to sync up is really easy. You can see the audio waves from the video footage which looks very similar to the audio from the zoom mic so you just drag it into the same position, play them so you can hear they are in the exact same place, then mute the video camera audio so you are left with just the loop pedal audio in the correct place.
      If you are doing this the same way as me you will need a splitter from the pedal so you can plug in the headphones and plug the pedal into a laptop or something for recording.
      If you want to get a bit more technical you can also record onto the sd card in the zoom mic as well so you have raw audio before it went into the pedal, this will give you some flexibility with eq'ing the audio later, that tends to get very complicated and messy though.
      Another tool that you will want is a software audio filter called 'waves z-noise', it takes away all that background hissing and leaves just the audio you want to hear, makes a massive difference.
      I hope this makes sense, thanks for watching and commenting, send me a link when you get some of your loop pedal work uploaded.

      Hi. I understood the question and your English is good. Sadly to record the same beat on both channels you would have to record the beat twice. However I have a little trick which might be worth trying, You could make a simple beat on pedal 1, then you can make the beat again but this time a bit more technical on pedal 2, this would mean the audience are not having to listen you record the same thing twice to keep them interested, then this way you have a simple beat for the verse and a more complicated beat for the chorus. Hope this helps.

      You can do a verse, chorus, verse with the RC-30. If you check my vidoes on you tube you will see all of them have at least a verse & chorus.I have even managed a verse, chorus and outro. This is technically quite hard on the RC-30 though, you really have to think about the arrangement, if you want to avoid the technical challenges of this then yes the RC-300 would be a far better choice, it is more expensive and a lot bigger though so pro and cons to it.

      The RC-300 is far better than the RC-30, you can have different length loops for a start which is very convienient, it has usable effects and yes it has threee tracks where as the rc-30 has two. I think its probably worth owning both, I will be buying the RC-300 at some point. I think the RC-300 is far better than the RC-30 but it is a lot bigger so not so easy to take around with you if that's your sort of thing.

      ReelfunkyProductions I apologize for asking too many questions! Lol But I'm confused whether the 300 is basically 3 RC30s all in one? For ex, Is track one acting like one RC30? I think if I'm leaning towards verse, chorus songs I should get the 300 instead.

    Absolutely brilliant and very informative. I've been thinking about buying the RC30 after seeing Ed Sheerins performances. Even if I dont get good at it it looks fun anyway

      I too bought the RC-30 after seeing ed sheeran perform on one. Yeah they are loads of fun, most people give up because they can't get the first loop right but once you learn that bit everything else is just about messing about and having fun with it.

    How do you eq your mic and guitar separately? Or do separate reverb for the mic and effects for guitar?

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  7 років тому

      In this video they are so much eq's separately as its one mic picking everything up. However i do a lot of work on the audio in post.

      Beyhan Cagri Trock Beyhan Cagri Trock hi. Sorry for the last reply . There is three inputs into the pedal so Multiple instruments is quite an easy setup . If you want to eq instruments you can just put a mixer in between your instrument and the pedal

    hi guys!i have this pedal with two other pedals(reverb,delay)so I want to add fiferent effets on different layout,for example lead guitar with delay,second guitar with reverb,solo with wah,etc.is it possible?beacause when I tried,rc 30 had one effect for everything and also if I turn off the pedals,the sound switch to clean tone.please help me

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  7 років тому

      Hi, sorry for the late reply. The effects on the rc-30 are useless and i would not bother with them. Your best option is to use fx pedal inserted before the input into the pedal. You could also add effects pedals after the pedal if you want them to apply to all the performance.

    Loved the performance jah bless my man! Quick question, I too bought an rc30 2 days ago and would want to know if and how can I loop using my electric guitar through a VOX AC15 amp and looping some vocals at the same time. Would I need a separate Speaker for my vocals?

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  9 років тому

      Hi. You only need one speaker, you can insert your guitar and vocal mic into the loop pedal inputs and use the output mono output from the pedal into your amp. If your amp is a guitar amp the vocals may not sound too great through them, i guess the only way to know is to try. If you want separate fx on the vocals and guitar then you would need to apply these before it reaches the pedal, so it would go guitar into fx pedal into loop pedal into amplifier. I hope this makes sense and thank you very much for watching and commenting.

    I don't know if this has been answered, but I know that double tapping the stop pedal stops both tracks, is there a way to to play both tracks at the same time after you've stopped it? also, is there a way to play each track independently after you've stopped it? sorry if the wording is complicated.

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  9 років тому

      Ok as far as I know there is only one way to start both tracks again and it's quite annoying. On the pedal is two flashing lights / buttons (one for each track) after you have stopped both tracks you have to bend down and press both of them so they are both lit up then press the start pedal again. This is one of the annoying things about this pedal . I had thought about making a small device that sits over both of these buttons so I could tap it with my foot rather than bending over but I never got round to it. You can buy another small pedal which attaches round the back which gives the rc-30 a few extra functions as well.

      You can do that but you need the an extra switch. I've got the RC30 and use an FS-6 foot switch with it. The "B" switch on the FS-6 toggles between tracks when they're playing but when it is stopped it can cue up both tracks and restart them together. TBH the manual doesn't really explain those functions well at all.

    I watched this 'cuz I'm trying to decide which looper to get and I like the Rc 30 because of the mic input. Here's a couple of thoughts for you. By the time you had it all going it was just a little too busy......maybe leave off a couple of layers.. Once you've got the backing track done and are ready to perform, does it allow you to dial back the volume a bit, so's you can perform over it and make your guitar or vocal stand out a little more? Doesn't sound right to me when everything is at same volume level. All in all it was a great job and I appreciated the subtitles telling when to click in and out. Nice work !

      I had exactly the same problem, hitting the pedal at the right time on the first loop was possibly the hardest thing to learn to do on this loop pedal. However keep at it and soon you will be able to make a perfect loop nearly everytime without thinking too much about it. I still get it wrong sometimes, easiest way is to make the first loop really simple, you cant go wrong with the other loops as the pedal will just keep recording the loop until you press the pedal again and you can always undo the other loops if you go wrong and want another try at it. Good luck and many thanks for your comment.

    Hi there, could somebody tell me how do I get back to the beginning after having recorded layer upon layer, with the rc 30. I wanna find a way to get back to the very first loop with out all the rest.
    Thanks!

    • @ReelfunkyProductions
      @ReelfunkyProductions  9 років тому

      Gianni Stefano Gonzalez Cierro Really there is only one good way, put your first Loop on track one and the rest on track two and mute track two to get back to your first layer. There is a second way and that is to use the undo feature which takes away your last recorded layer.
      They are the only ways to do it unfortunately.
