There will never be another Steve Wright in the afternoon, what with Wogan , now Steve and many others , radio will never be the same . Just lucky I was around to listen to these guys . Thank you .
2008 was 16 years ago, but it feels so much longer. Radio 2 was pure Gold with Terry Wogan, Ken Bruce, Steve Wright, and Chris Evans. We will never hear the likes of this again.
The best DJ ever ! I listen back to these snippets all the time ! What an enormous loss . Somebody said there that BBC should put up all Steve’s old shows on their App . Couldn’t agree more - It would trounce all the current shows hands down in listenership numbers I reckon . His like will never be seen or heard again- the Elvis of radio .
Totally devastated by the awful news of Steve Wrights sudden passing. He was a true broadcasting giant, someone I'd grown up listening to, first on Radio 1 then on Radio 2. Legend is a word used far to often, but he truly was one. Heaven FM about to get a huge boost, Terry and Steve reunited. Go with all our love and gratitude for a job well done, thanks Steve, Rip
Whenever I think of Wrighty I just have a broad smile! 1989 I was 16 in my first job and my pal told me you gotta listen to this, his show, I did and never looked back! this was so very different to anythintg id ever heard before and I even lost jobs because I didnt leave the portakabin whilst listening to the show, the things you do when youre young :) RIP Mr Wright thank you for the laughs and good times.
Oh wow, listening to this brings back so many happy memories of Steve and Terry Wogan and still sounds so relevant. Shows just aren’t like this these days 😢
Hope Steve is keeping Terry Wogan, Alan Freeman, Tommy Vance, Annie Nightingale and John Peel entertained up there in heaven. You won't see his like again. One of the true pioneers and innovators. A humble and almost shy character though. Sadly missed..
Truly sad to hear the news that Steve Wright has died, age 69. Gone waay too soon! Used to love his shows on Radio 1, and Radio 2. Very funny and hugely entertaining! He was a terrific DJ.❤
The Possie ⚠️ Sid the Manager Mr ANGRY Mr Mad Ask Elvis Linda Lust Old Woman Gervais the hairdresser Hopeless Weather girl Damian the Social Worker Barry from Watford The Pub singer would keep us entertained. Show was a tad silly but definitely made the working afternoon pass quicker !! My 1st job after training for 18 months as a Radar engineer in the RAF , was at RAF Locking in 1981. In 1T hangar where Radio 1 would be playing, Steve Wright came on who I'd not heard before. I was instantly hooked. He would go right up close to the microphone and say "C'mon touch your radio and feel the warmth of my sincerity " 😎 I could not believe it when BBC bosses axed his show in 2022 I cannot listen to Steve's replacement Scott Mills instead I listen to my own music collection instead. Too young to go Steve RIP 💜 Strange this tragedy has happened in the same week BBC are dismantling Wogan house. Nobody has mentioned this butmy belief is Steve couldn't face seeing his studio dismantled and basically destroyed.Dacades of memorabilia GONE.Did Steve died of a broken 💔?RIP Steve. You have been my afternoons since 1981 x

I miss this every afternoon. A constant companion. RIP Steve xx
