RR won the 1st one and since their comeback have already played a final. RR is actually doing above average right now. CSK MI RCB are the big 3 teams and then KKR SRH & RR are chasing close and the rest are bottoms. RR with Sanju as capt has huge Kerala support and Riyan Parag coming good this season has also turned new fans from existing Assam. So they actually have 3 state support Kerala Raj & Assam apart from this the 2 new guns in Jurel & Jaiswal have helped their cause which can be partially credited to their all year academies which they used before national call up. RR win a season and RCB let's go of Virat in his twilight, Rohit leaving MI for sure & MSD retiring next year will give them a window to be more valuable. Even SRH & GT are close as they too have a cult following and have a different play style this season which is attracting fans.
