Isn't lemon oil not supposed to be used on maple fingerboards?
What's the point of the video if you don't say or show what you used ??
I can see Dunlop 65 (yellow bottle) and some rags.
I can't believe this is an actual comment
But the funk is in the gunk!
Just got your CD in the mail today. 🤘 looking forward to hearing iit start to finish.
Right on. Sound great guys..."good and tight". Mr Gallagher is slamming them drums just like I would. I love it when I hear exactly what I would do being done. Keep it up 👏👏👏🤘
Just noticing those railroad tracks for frets... good God! What the heck are they, Dunlop 6150 wire? They're HUGE!
i think they're jumbos like Eddie used
@@dylannnnnnnnn Yup, jumbos. Although not stainless steel like Eddie's were, as you can see they're wearing down.
The best with maple fretboards(unfinished or laquered) is to use guitar polish .
Did evh ever clean his fretboard?
I don't really think so....seems like he just changed necks! Frankie had at least 3 different ones, I'd guess.
I wish my board looked like that
It's about fuckin time...
What did you clean it with?
Looked like he used Dunlop lemon oil
And that was just after one night of playing, lol.
Read that bottle, it says not to use on maple fingerboard’s. Cleaned it nicely though. 🤷🏽♂️
Because most maple boards are finished with a poly gloss or satin coat, and the oil will not do anything but sit on top and make a mess. Raw, tung-oiled or gunstock-oiled boards are fine with the Dunlop or any other lemon oil on them.
@JosDoin
This may be true for uncoated fretboards. And that’s only because it will change the color of the wood. If you don’t care about the color - then you can go for the uncoated ones.
What did you use to clean it, and is it an unfinished maple fretboard?
Do not use Dunlop Lemon Oil to clean unfinished maple, technically yes it cleaned the fretboard, but Lemon Oil has acidic properties that will Crack and dry out the fretboard. I recommend Music Nomad F-One Oil for unfinished maple fretboards.
@@henryliedecke3769 Wrong. Lemon oil does not actually have any acidity from real lemons. It's just mineral oil with scent, and it's fine on maple. Brands like Fender tell you not to use any oil because their maple boards are finished with either a high gloss poly or matte satin where the oil will just sit on top and not do anything. For raw maple boards or those with tung oil or gunstock oil, guitar lemon oil or any kind of furniture lemon oil is perfectly fine for cleaning and will not dry out your board.
@@josephtamborra1321 you are right about the lemon oil not having acidity, buy it does have something in it that dried the hell out of my Jackson Spectra. But anyhow Music Nomad F-One Oil works wonders, it's made from tree oil, it cleans as well as hydrates, it made my Jackson's fretboard look as new as the day I bought it. Check out a bottle when you get a chance.
Sorry meant but has somthing in it.
@@henryliedecke3769 I like the F1 oil, too. Weird to hear about the Dunlop, as I've tried it on maple, rosewood and pau ferro boards (even on the back of an oiled mahogany neck) and never had it dry anything out.
That was satisfying
Bro forget the cleaning, is that you playing??
What did you use to clean the fretboard
This is an unfinished maple neck/fretboard so I used Lemon Oil but don’t use it on finished fretboards.
dude you're wearing away the mojo!
Good Job!
Mojo remover!!! Nah you’ve got the touch my friend
That's why I wash my hands before I pick up my basses.
Especially the ones with maple fingerboards.
