    Back in your Grinder School days, Pete, you introduced a concept called the Spew Gauge. I still use that today at the tables. We need the Spew Gauge to make a comeback!

    It has something to do with the pronunciation of the pocket tens > pocketens > pottetens > potatoes

    i have a big question about the ATs hand. Pete you said the term "underreped" your hand was "stupid" like 24 to 4 afternoon :D. I get what u mean with underreped is not a good concept but from u i learned about landingranges, and if we dont bet our ATs at turn. The prefolp range did not get filtered once. Not saying this makes this a call but underreped -> landingrange there are some similarities with i think we at least need to take into account. For example against fish which have tag "need rope to hang themselfs" i think it would a call all day long, just because if they start searching for bluffs they can have sooo many. I still like the video a lot, just wanted to hear urs and chats thoughts about this. Thx as always

    Is there a quick and simple answer to why the top micro limit regs are super nits, red line melting while at the higher limits the regs are aggros and red liners?

    • @TheLazarussLedd
      @TheLazarussLedd 2 місяці тому +1

      If it was quick and simple people would fix it. Very few players are red liners most good players have break even slightly losing red line.

      I don't know but I have a few theories based solely on observation....I have noticed that when I play aggressively pre-flop at microstakes, I basically get the dominated hands to fold (KJ, KQ, AQ, AJ etc...) and only get called by hands that dominate me, especially in-position OR by "fit or fold" hands, like pocket pairs. This means that my red line goes up a bit initially but eventually I run into it and all those small pots I have won by being aggressive get wiped out in one hit.
      I have tried 3-betting wider as an exploit, but the nit regs will fold, fold, fold until eventually they just call with hands like AA, KK, AK and I'll end up facing those hands in 3B pots with hands like KJs and J10s.
      If I play passively pre and do far more calling with hands like KK, AK, AQs, AA, KQs, my red line absolutely falls off a cliff, by my "won at showdown" and overall profitability increase. This is because all the Q10s and AJs that open but fold to 3Bs are still in their post-flop and I can play in-position with all my strong hands.
      I can only think that this is a symptom of how passive the pools are at microstakes, because the nits wouldn't be able to get away with keep flatting pocket pairs or hands like KQs in position at higher stakes as the number of squeezes would increase dramatically.
      I'm sure Pete has far more insight on this than I do. I am talking from limited experience...maybe 10NL and 25NL are simply not beatable on PokerStars with a VPIP above 20 because of the rake and general passivity / nittiness of pool?

      @TooMuchInternetTMI 2 місяці тому +2

      my guess is rake is so high at micros people have to play tighter pre to be profitable so bluffing into stronger ranges is harder in theory, high stakes you can play alot wider so maybe they have more bluffing opportunities, also all the studied/good players move up and dont stay at micros. thats my assumption

      One of my students was skeptical at first that what I do at 200 would work at 25z/25nl and 50nl so I put in some volume. I win primarily redline with around 60-70% winnings and did exactly the same at micros. Most people in general are very very poor at bluffing, bluff catching and understanding ranges especially at microstakes. It makes sense when you consider most players focus on value rather than these other pillars of the game. TLDR microstakes players are nits cause they are bad and don't know what they don't know.

    • @teeraw4575
      @teeraw4575 2 місяці тому +2

      yes there is and its because when you play higher stakes vs better players that actually pay attention and know how to adjust if youre a nit no one will pay you off and you ll never get called by worse. so the nits get ran over by aggression and when they start putting lots of money in the pot we fold range.

  • @DJ-Rext
    @DJ-Rext 2 місяці тому

    What do you mean struggling with the red line? If I calculate it correctly he has a red line of ~-6bb/100. That's pretty amazing on NL25 if you ask me and far from my -13bb/100 (winning on NL100-200).

      Then you are a very honest player and dont bluff too much. You're winning that all that matters, however!

    • @agnorax
      @agnorax 2 місяці тому

      @@nate2908 You won't be able to win like that long term as you move up limits, so it has a finite value as a gameplan. This is exactly the game plan 10000s of microstakes/low stakes players have and there's a reason they are not all just magically moving up playing an honest value based game.
