  • This is the complete instructional video for the assembly of the large Foam Mate DIY Kit.
    The Honey Do Carpenter invented the foam Mate to inject foam into concrete to make air crete. Air Crete is lightweight, Fire Proof, and bug resistant. We use portland cement mixed with foam to create air crete. It has great insulation qualities and budget friendly. Darwin has also made a mini crane to lift the gables and beams.

    Great instructions, Darwin! So all your customer needs to do is put all the hose clamps in the middle of the tubes FIRST and snug them so they won't fall off. I used to work with hydraulics, and that's what I did. A good post-glue headache remedy. 👍🏻

    Cool video. I have to add a few tips. As others have stated some of these, I am condensing.
    1 ALWAYS use primer, BOTH parts. Glue on BOTH parts. 90 degree twist once parts are seated, this will even out the Glue.
    2 Barbed fittings can be tough, SPIT (or liquid soap) on them and/or the hose then insert. MUCH easier. Larger braided hose requires a heat gun. (1 1/2 in +)
    3. ALWAYS use Teflon tape on threaded fittings. Not just to stop leaks, but also easier to screw together AND take apart if needed.
    And finally, why the 20ft walk to your rinse barrel? Put em side by side FFS. LOL!

    Thanks for your videos ! One tip.....you technically should be using the Oatey green transition glue for the joint between the black abs and white pvc pipe. The Oatey All Purpose glue can be used to join abs to abs or pvc with pvc but not between abs and pvc. Will it fail ? Probably not.

    Come on Darwin. Using Channel Locks backward? As usual you guys have produced another excellent video. I was wondering if you determined the minimum C.F.M needed from the air compressor. My air compressor is literally an antique. I am 70 and it's older than me.

    Question. Your website says the product is $188; but when I click the link, it says the product is $350. What's the difference between the $188 product and the $350 product? Or have you not updated your website to match your store?

    Great video, Mr & Mrs Honey Do Carpenter! Looking forward to buying one of the parts kits once I get back to work - been out of a job for a couple of months so looking forward to earning income again soon and then I'll order a kit. Unfortunately the cost of shipping the kit to Australia is nearly as much as the kit itself and the conversion rate adds another 25 percent then there's the Australian Goods & Services Tax of 10% as well - but it is what it is and the Foam Mate is a great little tool so I'm looking forward to getting a kit sometime after Christmas.

    Hello Mr & Mrs Honey Do Carpenter.
    Have seen many videos about the foam gun.. but nothing is more informative like this... just have few questions as below :-
    1. You have not mentioned anything about the Air compressor or the pump which has to be used to generate the foam or is it like we need only the air compressor (how much pound of air pressure needed) to generate the foam
    2. Can we use the sprinkler head in the front end so that we can spread the foam

I am in the process of making an ammo can stove for camping and was thinking of making some thin aircrete plates for the sides and bottom, i would love to here any ideas you have 😁

    Hose clamps with a 5/16 hex head are much better, and there's even a cheapie hand tool that's set for x torque so that you don't overtighten and damage the hose

    Actually, pvc primer is used to soften up the mating surfaces and to let glue penetrate, which creates more of a welded effect than a glued effect. Also, that 4" black pipe looked to be ABS, which requires a different kind of glue to get them both to mate. The thing about ABS is that it's used only as waste pipe, which is typically rated to handle only 5psi. PVC will handle much higher pressure, however, it should not be used for air pressure more than 5 psi due to the fact that should it ever fail, it blows up in slivers of shrapnel . Hydraulic pressure is different. When there Are hydraulic failures aren't subject to Boyle's law.

    • @greenhometony
      @greenhometony 5 років тому

      Yes primer is essential. Also not mixing pvc with abs. Of course you can do it, but why? Air pressure is moderately dangerous on pipe containers if the fittings fail because of poor glue joints.

    You should not make the foam liquor chamber from black pipe the glue will not stick to it like white pipe. The white pipe with white fittings is rated for 200 psi, which is double the working pressure and fits in same standards for saftey. By selling black pipes glued to white joints you become liable for failures and lawsuits.. if people and property are damaged . What your doing is awesome. But please change this one thing
    Also a diverging nozzle at foam outlet would be the thing like a rocket exaust

Most all of these guys are winging it with parts and construction with no explanations. When you are trying to sell things it's easier that way. Describing how things work so people understand the dangers and nuance would be good. You have to pay for that but what you get may or may not actually teach you the nuts and bolts, just how to build something. Just an opinion.

    Horrifies me to see these kits or home builds using compressed air and not a single safety valve or pressure relief valve in sight. If the outlets in that tank get blocked in any way, you've just built yourself a potential bomb ! Even a hand pump garden sprayer has to incorporate a safety valve by law if it can be pressurised to a given value. Could you please add a simple pressure relief valve to the kit ASAP. The ones used for large hand pump garden sprayers are ideal and only cost around $6 - $8 to buy.

    • @Gcrilla
      @Gcrilla 3 роки тому +2

      This is beyond nitpicky, if you cant safely relieve pressure if the outlet becomes blocked, you shouldn't even be using the thing. The bomb analogy is nothing but overdramatic.
