I have loved Britsh Bikes since I was about 10 years old. And at 57, I finally got a bike license, and bought a Bullet 500. Absolutely love it!

Very nice bike with some useful features and proper mudguards. Much under rated in it's day. Thanks for sharing.

Dave, you explain things so well and of course you making the 'visual' helps no end too. Motorcycling with UA-cam is so much the better for having your input. TY mate.

Just discovered this channel. My that Matchless is a real sweet machine. Nice that it has had a good go through. And that exhaust note is just the best.. Great channel and greetings from USA

I dropped a nut down my '73 Commando intake manifold the other day. Didn't panic and thought "What would Dave do?" Thanks for all the tips and inspiration Dave. You give me the confidence and positive approach to love working on my bikes. Cheers!

Great update Dave, always a pleasure to watch.. Lovely raspy exhaust note from the G12 - I've always had AMC singles but never a twin, I went to Norton for twins ! - Looking forward to seeing the Scott in fine fettle and hearing it 'yowl' !..

Really like your workshop videos, keep them coming. I'm just finishing my A65 bitsa it's nearly ready to do the first start, but because of bad weather have to wait so started with the front end of my Trident. Your videos just motivate me to work more consistently on my bikes. Thank you.

Based on what you said about cylinder scoring, it sounds as if the rebuild required a cylinder re-bore and oversized pistons fitted.
Many companies offer forged pistons, made to order to your specs, or can copy a provided sample. Prices in N. America are around $300.00 USD.

I'm working on a T120. I replaced the clutch basket. Front gear and chain. With the tensioner adjusted all the way up. To much I think. I still have way to much slack in the chain. Did Triumph offer different length primary chains for the T120. Have they shipped me the wrong chain.? Thankfully. RMM

I rode a G12 for a few years and loved it. ..I prefer the zener diode with the K2f though....the front brake was just sufficient......don't put green linings in the front brake or they will lock up...ask me how I know...... join the AJSMOC for spares and know how

Very enjoyable and informative for anyone who loves British motorcycles!! I have a question. I had a Kawasaki 400 which I would leave on the sidestand in winter to let warm up. This caused the rings to prematurely wear on one side from lack of oil service to the top end. My question is would this also happen if done with British bikes?

A bad battery is death to the charging system. If a battery goes flat in the bike and won't take a charge, then it needs replacing BEFORE the bike is ridden. Don't jump start the bike. Seen many Japanese alternators fried because of a (comparatively cheap) dead battery. Then you have to spend hundreds on charging system parts AND a new battery.

Lovely bike. I bought a 59 model last year. It’s actually got the mag and alternator. Apparently the factory mixed and matched quite a bit. One thing to watch with magnetos, as you heard a bit with yours, they sometimes misfire on full retard. This is not unusual with twins, as the spark weakens on retard. It affects one cylinder more than the other as the spark polarity is different from one plug to the other, and the spark jumps better from the centre electrode. Obviously not a problem with coil ignition if the coil is wired correctly.(It was a major problem on my bike until I cleaned all the carbon dust from the slip ring distributor!) Thanks very much for the very enjoyable videos.
