I was an Oilers fan who loved my team, but watching Dale Hawerchuk play the game was amazing. Hawerchuk was always a player that you always kept an eye on, because he could burn you...and the Jets always came to play.
What a class act. I loved watching Dale play... he is one of my top 10 favourite players of alltime. He also had the infamous play of the tournament in the 1987 Canada Cup. In the final game, on that memorable Lemieux goal, Hawerchuk's hook of the only Soviet player close enough to check Lemieux insured Mario would have an unimpeded shot on goal. It was a brilliant play that illustrated his huge hockey IQ. As the play unfolded, he knew all the officials would be watching Gretzky bringing the puck up ice with Lemieux following close behind... allowing his subtle hook to go un-noticed. RIP Dale.
UNDERATED BIG TIME
Massively!

Even tho edm beat the jets in the playoffs 80's-90's.... I thought the many series were very exciting and competitive 😮

Jamie MaCoon ? Never heard of him.
Jamie Macoun
@@beyond_thebench I think he means that it's pronounced Mac-ow-en
Some weird errors in this. He wasn't born on a farm in Saskatchewan, he was born in Toronto, Ontario. Pretty easy fact to look up.
It was his father Ed who was born there ya. We worded that part strange, sorry about that!
@@beyond_thebench You never even mentioned his father, so I'm not sure "worded that part strange" accurately describes this error.
A Bio that I read had Dale being born in Toronto, and his father Orest "Ed" Hawerchuk was born in Wynyard, Saskatchewan and moved to Toronto.
