Whenever my husband was away for work, often months at a time, I got so much done, even with the kids around. You just get into a new routine, and make the best of it 🥰

Oh John…what a delightful man you are. Talented in so many ways but your best gift is your wonderful personality. The build is looking good in spite of the rain trying so hard to make it difficult! I’ll bet you do miss everyone as you have such a delightful family. Just don’t forget to enjoy the quiet too…it’s healing and energy giving and you need and deserve that time.

The trip to the wildlife park with the boys reminded me of my time growing up in Tanzania doing all sort of adventures on the back of a Land Rover., or swimming in the river under the waterfalls on the plantation or escaping to another seaside village on the bicycle with a bunch of friends without telling the parents what we were doing!! Those were the days growing up in Africa, a time of your life that you will remember for ever. I am sure your boys will have the fond memories of their visits to Africa when they grow up.

It's snowing here-Alberta, Canada, after a couple of glorious days of real warmth and sunshine. I took a leaf out of your book, John, and decided to just relax and enjoy a restful period. You are such a positive and energetic worker, I think you inspire Joao in many ways,,,,the loaded wheel barrow down the steps, for instance. You two work so well together. Good to see Tara and the boys enjoying the "aminos" with her parents. Thay will soon be home with you again, and it will be back to hunting for lost tape measures and tools with legs! As a long time viewer I’m constantly amazed by how much you’ve done to that farm while still maintaining the beauty it had when you found it. I can honestly say from an outsider, you have only made that place even more magical. Thanks for sharing! Zimbabwe is beautiful. What a wonderful place to grow up in, Tara. It’s amazing how alike Crusoe and Sawyer look! Crusoe may grow up to be a driver of some kind. He loves to sit in the driver’s seat and participate in the driving of diggers and autos! You have a beautiful family.

Building from the roof down is an excellent idea - why did no-one think of it before? 🤣
It's taking shape though, the vision is quite clear now. The persistent rain is frustrating though, I'm trying to get my garden done.
It's great to watch the boys, especially Sawyer beginning to connect with his heritage - and learning the difference between a cow and a zebra, but both of them enjoying their roots, extended family and background culture.
They're so alive, no wonder John misses them so much - it sounds good to have the space to work in, but 'clear space' is soon 'empty space' when it's raining and home doesn't feel like home without them.
