Aber wie ich schon gesagt habe - dass antike Münzen mit glatter (!) verschlossener Oberfläche nach dem Wachs wie "neu" und "frisch" glänzen liegt alleine daran, dass das Wax auf der Oberfläche (glänzend) klebt - hat aber nichts mit einer "Verbesserung" zu tun. Aber ich sehe hier auch keinen Mehrwert - zur Wirksamkeit der Konservierung kann ich so jetzt natürlich nichts sagen. Ich werde allerdings meine guten Münzen nicht mit dem Wax behandeln. Aber... wollte das mal ausprobieren, nachdem so viele "im Netz" darauf schwören. Somehow I don't see the point of it today either, great. There are so many videos on the net praising this as a "miracle cure" - with regard to antique coins. But as I already said - the fact that antique coins with a smooth (!) sealed surface shine like "new" and "fresh" after waxing is solely due to the fact that the wax sticks to the surface (shiny) - but has nothing to do with an "improvement". But I don't see any added value here either - of course I can't say anything about the effectiveness of the preservation now. However, I will not treat my good coins with the wax. But... I wanted to try it out, since so many people "on the net" swear by it.

@@yothr2311 yeah that "gloss" over look is not appealing, I supposed the only benefit is it seals the coin and protects it?

Was glad to see your test. Have just begun restoring uncleaned bronzes and have just purchased some Renaissance wax.
