- I head into the woods for 2 nights of winter camping in my Esker canvas tent with my two dogs, Molly and Goose. I try out a brand new woodstove, the Esker Huron and i spend some time ice fishing for trout in the nearby pond.

Rabbit hearts work great! But I agree with you a good ole warm never fails!
Haven't heard of using rabbit hearts Paul, but definitely giving that a try next time!!
Great trip. I love the snow. Too bad about the trout. Maybe next time.
Another dandy trip ,tks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
nice trip. looking forward to more.
Thanks!
Thanks for taking us along for a winter camping trip , I use strips of squid for bait , the white strips works good and stays on .Chuck Porter uses a folding Platform under is stove seems like it works good . Molly and Goose enjoyed it . Let us know when you go again , take care , happy camping , God Bless
Thanks Kirk! I’ll have to give squid a try sometime! 👍
Awesome brother

I agree!
Those moose burgers!!!👍👍
For bait, I've had great success with fat pork, rabbit meat and of course worms.
Thanks for the suggestions! 👍
Awesome video..... certainly enjoyed it.

Great video again i find that lure really good and i also like to use worms until next time stay safe
Thanks George!
Great video again ,that dry wood certainly got the stove going by looks
My Grandfather always kept tongue’s out the rabbits he caught for bait said was a sure catch lol
Certainly not much of a winter so far for sure
I've heard of using rabbit tongues as bait before, but I haven't tried it myself. Maybe I'll give that a shot next time! Thanks for the suggestion!
Best bait is a piece of moose meat by far. Nice video
Cheers from the Big Land
Thanks Trent! I've never tried moose meat for bait, but I will definitely be trying it on my next trip!
We use salt pork for ice fishing
Great channel, cheers from deer lake!
Thanks! Cheers!👍
Another awesome video. Man oh man, we can't buy a winter in here. Only today getting some snow and still no ice. I'll have the canoe out the weekend. Thanks very much for the shout out on the kits. You actually placed the first order for one. Much appreciated and keep up the great content! 🤙🏻
Thanks Matt! The fire kits are great! Not much of a winter this year! We are supposed to get 8 degrees with rain and wind on Friday! That will likely take all of our snow again! Brutal!
that mavic mini 2 sure holds it own dont they. i love mine awesome little drone definatley worth what i paid for it
They are awesome little drones for sure!
New to the channel. What part of central Newfoundland you from, I was born and raised in central Newfoundland but since moved to the Avalon for work. Enjoy watching the videos of the great outdoors
Great video buddy! Can’t beat a couple nights in the woods and you had great weather to go along with it. What pond is this? I’ve probably fished there myself
Hey Nick, thanks for watching! It was a great trip! Not sure the name of this pond, it doesn’t have a name that I know of. I’m sure you have probably fished it before!
Love that hot tent, most practical I've seen reviewed.
I know you were not out hunting but were you 'packing' just in case?
Its a great tent! I usually carry a rifle or shotgun on my trips, but decided not to for this one. With bears not being a threat this time of year, I’m not concerned about being unarmed! Thanks for watching!
salt pork and coRn
fat back pork or worms, trout eyeballs work too once you catch the first one.
Gonna try out the trout eyeballs! Catching the first one is the problem most of the time though! Lol
Great video, too bad ya didn,t get a few Trout. How do you sharpen your auger blades? All the best
I always find trout fishing through the ice to be challenging! Hoping to get to some more promising ponds soon if the mild weather doesn't take the snow and ice first! I've never sharpened auger blades myself, but I know there are a few people around that sharpen them. I may just end up replacing them for new blades!
Where is this? Im from Thunder Bay Ontario
