  • In this episode we wake up to close to zero visibility in Marsabit which clears out as soon as we head out of the area. Our route takes us North through a bit of the Chalbi desert over to the much awaited oasis in Kalacha, 180 km away in the heat.

I am planning for this trip on my small bike and am amazed to see that you actually made it through this challeging stretch on these super heavy bikes. You guys must be skillful. How long did you take from Marsabit to Kalacha Campsite? For me I will be coming from opposite direction where I will do North Horr to Marsabit.

Since you're coming from the other side you must carry lots of fuel and water..mostly water.. it is hot! Don't do it alone is all I can say as you may need help incase of anything and doing it alone in the heat is a bad idea.

We also had to deal with two punctures so that took up an hour's worth of time.. so about 7hours of ride time

@@QureshSharafali I saw you repair a GS under the only tree. 7 hrs is not bad. We have done it on cruisers before and I know its a tough stretch

@@africavacationsafaris try get a more people..we were a total of 6 men. 4 bikes and a backup car with 2 people (the driver and our backup rider just incase any of us got too tired and need to take a break etc.) main thing is water.. when you're up north in the heat you get tired quicker.. carry as much water as you can.. this is where the backup car helped.. we would replenish our hydration bags at every pitstop
