I live in southwest Virginia! Learning to love and appreciate each season is something I've been trying to integrate more myself. So, it's refreshing to hear some of your thoughts/realizations on the topic. It sounds like Boise climate and fresh-food supply are very similar! Growing your own produce is basically a necessity around here if you're really wanting to nourish the body. Such a sweet video! 😊❤

You're so right about Minnesota friend! I've lived here my whole life and the winters are pretty tough! BUT I really believe the hard winters make for a magical spring and more gratitude during the summer and fall. Loved this video ❤️

I live in MN as well. I will admit the rough winters do help you appreciate the warmer weather. However, as someone who loves farmers markets, and growing my own food, it’s not easy to live in MN.

Here in the Netherlands we attach the baby carseat to the bicycle or put it in a cargo bike. As a result, mini babies already go along on the bike 😂

I totally understand you, I moved away from my family and friends to much hotter summer's and much colder winters. I went to school in my new town and now I'm working and my daughter left her first school, teachers that are amazing, and her friends she doesn't see anymore even when we go home to visit family. My friends tell me how much they miss me and how much better it would be if I moved back. I'm determined to stay here in our new city and continue to crush my goals I keep making for myself and the life I was and see my daughter and I living. Thank you for your videos and for being honest and truthful about yourself, your life, and your family.

I moved from Vancouver Island, Canada to Nelson, Canada last spring, and I can relate with and understand so many of your pros and cons! My biggest con with my new mountain life is that it's SO DRY ALL YEAR! Haha, I do miss not having snow 5 months of the year, but the pros I have gained make up for the weather factors so much. The community soooo much richer, my life feels slower, and I'm just a happier person despite normal life struggles and the constant dry skin 😂❤. I feel like people commenting here forget that changes require adjustment, and it takes time to fully settle in a new place. And there's more to how someone feels about their life than what they share on UA-cam.

Hannah was fortunate to have an established friend when she moved to Idaho. We moved about 45 mins away from a suburb just outside of Seattle to a smaller area and it took years before we finally felt like we "fit in". It was like an extended country club when we moved in. We have lived here 13 yrs now and they have built 4 new neighborhoods and people from bigger cities slowly moving in. We moved to get away from all the politics and mumbo jumbo. The small town feel is still here but the vibe is definitely changing to what we tried to escape from. Moving out of the state is next on the list!

It’s funny you mentioned Minnesota. I live in MN. Winters are very rough, so much cold and snow, often lasting 5-6months. There are definitely things I do love about here, but it’s not my ideal place to live by any means. My list of reasons for wanting to leave has been growing for years and years. Hopefully I will be able to move in the next year or so. Take care Hannah.

Still not allowed to cross the border (short drive away) into Idaho but Idaho was still so much more free than Canada, where we were forced to give up our jobs, businesses, ability to have visitors in our homes, access to public transportation, facilities and businesses (aside from certain stores). Hard for some people to understand that because they think abortion is the only thing that matters when it comes to a person’s bodily autonomy.

You said you are going to homeschool your kids, why is that? In Spain where I am from that's such an uncommon thing that I wonder the reasons behind. Also whether it's compatible with a full time job and what curriculum you follow.

Daylight Savings Time (aka artificial time) doesn’t give you more daylight. Of course, the days are longer now because we’re nearing the summer solstic, but we’d have the same amount of daylight if we were still referring to Standard Time (aka natural time). The difference is that with ST, the daylight hours are earlier in the morning, which is actually more beneficial for our circadian rhythms. More light in the evening/nighttime has been shown to increase the risk of cancer and obesity. There’s been a bill proposed in congress to keep DST all year round, which sleep experts caution against. Every year, when the clocks go forward, there is an increase in car accidents. DST has also been shown to increase energy costs for individuals, who spend more money on air conditioning and overall electricity bills. It would be better for our health, individually and as a nation, to stick to natural time year round. We’d still have the same amount of daylight, but with better sleep and overall health.

" Wherever you go - there you are" - It is both true and not true. I am the same me but I feel vastly different in different places. Of course, you could argue that one can be happy in the arctic - but if it's not your vibe - it's not your vibe - no matter how "happy" you are anywhere you go. Just because you can make it work doesn't mean it's the best place for you. If it's easier to be happier somewhere else - why not choose that? Not everything needs to be a strugle.
