What timing they had on turning back to Letterman at that moment..... .....combined with the timing they had shutting it off..... ...equals EPIC WIN!!!!
I really like how the station engineers waited until after Jimmi Simpson's character Lyle finishes his bit in the show before turning off WDEF's analog transmitters one last time.
I liked WDEF's farewell message and historical montage prior to its analog shutdown. Other analog channels apparently did an unannounced, abrupt, cold hard shutdown last night (Feb. 17) on such an historic occasion as this. Kudos to WDEF management for this excellent farewell; I hope you are doing well now on the other side. I live in Los Angeles, where all the stations will continue in analog until the final date of June 12. Rich Rodriguez West Covina, CA
1:05 "Plus you'll no longer face the frustrations of a snowy picture as digital offers crystal clear images and CD quality sound." Instead of facing the frustration of a snowy picture, you'll now face the frustration of freezing and/or pixelated screens.
i know everyone keeps talking about the "i know where you live biiaaaaaaaatch" but i find it so funny around 0:03 that he said "i understand, as an intern, you're not getting paid-" and it cuts to the update. absolutely amazing out of context. and ofc the little raspberry just before the signal cut. this was way too good of a day and time to sign off for WDEF and this was already historical enough
'?' But yes, you do have a point. Here was this station, trying to be the exception of the norm and trying to give a proper farewell before shutting off, and it's all spoiled because of that final line from Letterman. But even I have to admit, from an ironic point of view, that WAS perfect unintentional timing, lol.
A lot of radio stations are changing formats abruptly, so I wouldn't be surprised at many TV stations stopping their analog signal abruptly. Thanks for posting, and I think WDEF did it right there. But did you really have to leave several minutes of snow? A few seconds is fine.
I cant wait for thansition to digital will look like because our signals are switching off on 6/12 where most of our stations are owned & operated. I now get 68-72 channels right here and our signal is pretty good. I hope they boost the power of the signal though.
The "I know where you live Beyoooootch" being played as the last words before the cutoff had to have been intentional.... what a legendary sign off. Nice iconic historic montage of the station paying tribute to the service.... then going out with a laugh. Although... not sure someone watching live would've have found it funny as much as... unsettling?
0:12 Welp, that makes my portable tv on the tv function useless unless you want it for white noise to sleep at night. 2:33 I know where you live,! Static. 2:37 begin counting at 11:59 PM and 57 seconds into it
hahaha! yeah that was the most messed up ending i have seen LULZ to epic win! ... i think every station should have at least some sort of nice sendoff like that station did though .. a lot didn't care and didn't make any sort of note of it, just a commercial then static
"I know where you live... BEEYOTCH!!!!" That's the greatest and best-timed ending to analog i have ever seen 😂👍
FRRR XDDDDD
hey konata
the line is too werid to me
konata
Then blowing a raspberry right before. Now that’s how you go out on a bang.

2:33 I bet during that final moment, they are bursting with laughter inside the analog set.
i hope that was intentional lol
THAT CUT WAS SO GOOD
I really like how the station engineers waited until after Jimmi Simpson's character Lyle finishes his bit in the show before turning off WDEF's analog transmitters one last time.
Making us all cry with a tribute to analog TV, immediately followed by "I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE."
I love that the last words were "I know where you live beeeyoch!"
lol
Look, do you really think that Analog TV deserved this?
Same As WWNY
All these years later and I’m delighted.
@@insertcreativehandlehere It's comedic relief.

Most epic ending ever! XD
more like most weird ending to me
2:33 How is this not a meme it was the perfect way to end analog television
Even though the cut off if funny, I appreciate that they ACTUALLY indicated when they were gonna sign off and give a proper goodbye
By far the most epic moment in the history of television.
David letterman makes everything better, ever the ending of something
The analog signal cut off at this exact moment on WWNY.

I love the BEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOTCH and then he does the fart noise and that's it.
WWNY also signed off during that same spisode of David Letterman.
2:34 the WORST timing
Plot twist: It went to static because he knows where you live and is going to pay you a “friendly” visit
OMG I SEE HIM
@@Dontraiseriggy Uh oh
hi me from 2 years ago
I must say, that is the loveliest shade of blue I've ever seen.
3:26 wow why is the audio of the tv static is wavy noise
2:34 Imagine if an IP Adress was shown here lol
this year should have been 68 years great run
The fact this wasn’t even the only analogue station to have it’s last words as ‘I know where you live BEEEYYYYOOOOTTTCCCHHH!!!!!!!’.
I like how the little *phbbbt* sound Lyle makes at 2:39 kinda mocks the upcoming static
The analog lookback has a funny ending
0:58 Discord Mods belike:
That ambulance appears in DTV update
That's right, Lyle the intern knows where you live, so switch to digital, or he'll track you down.
nearing the end of all the static at around 4:00 it sounds like an old train comming in and out.
Watch the very last second at 2:39
So ironic!

2:34 i know where you live, BYYYYOOOOOOOOOTCH
the difference is exponential. it is just like having cable tv. this switch should have been done years ago.
Tv-Signoffs.com gave you the Sign off vid of the week for February 25th 2019

Interesting only now I've found this. What a strange way to get a reference of our town.
why is most of the video stadic?

2:33 most weirdest line ever 🤨
I thought it was a very classy way to end an era of broadcasting. That should've been the way ALL stations end their analog operations.
They gave their analog signoff a last-second plot twist that doesn't even care it's purely for LOL.
I Know Where You Live BEEEEAAAACH!
What This Name Show?
I think it's happening at 11:59 tonight. I won't be watching it, I have cable.
Farewell to American analogue Television 19?? -2009

cd quality is not always a good thing
