In this video, we are working on a 5th gen 4Runner. 5th gen 4Runners from 2014-2019 TRD models come with chrome turn signals that are weak and boring. The fix for that are these sequential turn signals that have a smoked lens so it blends in better. The light output is also significantly better.

I installed the black ones, they look great and no worries on visibility compared to the smoked version. While doing this, I also upgraded the mirrors with the OEM Toyota Rav4 mirrors that have the blind spot mirror addition (Conversion 87961-42D20 & 87931-42D50). Just make sure to secure the mirror and back plate with tape when removing. They tend to eject with great speed and could hit the floor if not careful.

I got mine in the mail just a couple of days ago. I haven’t done the install yet and partially the reason why is because I did not receive the plastic pry tool that was “supposed” to be in the kit. I think I have something that will work but sometimes you never know
Just installed these and the sequential lights match my smoked morimoto xb heads and tails! Looks super clean and install was a success! Only one broken plastic clip 😂

I have got panoramic view cameras in my JDM 2014 Toyota Harrier Hybrid Premium Advanced and the aftermarket universal version blinkers (as in your video) don't fit - their connectors' position is different (the aftermarket's is higher) and it is interfering with the camera housing. So I had to buy the version that is exactly as OEM.

I followed you video exactly and now I have the coolest blacked out sequential signals!! I was very nervous to dismantle my brand new 2021 Nightshade mirrors( had to purchase somewhere different) , but you made it look so easy. Thank you! How about taillights next?!

Only the premiums(in any model 4runner)come with mirror turn signals. For everyone's information.
I have a 2020 TRD Pro, installed the RCI 12” bed rack, and am curious as to wether or not I can mount MaxTrax to the side of the rack using RCI brackets with the iKamper Skycamp Mini on top. I have the tent on order, but since I won’t receive the tent until March, I have no way to check if the MaxTrax will be obstructing the tent when using the RCI brackets? Tim at RCI has been awesome with tips to make it work if not but I believe you are the only folks with this setup therefore I am hoping that you two can help! Btw, I posted this question on the RCI install video but no reply... so I threw it on your recent video.

Just installed them, they are way brighter in the video lol and look cheaper than the stock. Ill be looking for different ones.

Don't do it in the cold. Plastic is brittle. I snapped one of the tabs on my glass mirror. 97$ replacement 22 with blind spot

Nice video, thanks for posting this. I'm just about to do this on my 4R. Are there sequential vs. non-sequential versions? Looks like you can't adjust it like you can with the head lamps and tails.

Kind of a weird question... but what happens if you have constant voltage to the turn signal? Does the entire light stay lit, or does it continue to do a sequential pattern?

2020 TRD OFR PREMIUM have different plug . Doesn't work.

兇手 I don’t think the 2015-2018 have the wiring. Strange they left that out on the most expensive 4R model.
I tinted a set of white CarTrim signals with VHT and they look more "smoked" than these. These look really close to chrome/white IMO
